Zuo Xiangning lay in bed, waiting until it was dark before Bing Yu took a black cloak, wrapped Zuo Xiangning up tightly, and helped her into the carriage from the Corner Gate of the Zuo Residence, with Bing Yun at her other side.

"I'll keep watch here. Just knock on the door when you return," Pan Cui said in a low voice to Bing Yu.

Bing Yu nodded in agreement and assisted Zuo Xiangning into the carriage.

Changfeng, along with ten others, surrounded the carriage, which traveled all the way around to the north gate of the Marquis Mansion. Someone was waiting there; as soon as Zuo Xiangning alighted from the carriage, they lifted her onto a sedan chair and carried her straight to the entrance of the main room where Lingxiao lived.

Although the carriage and sedan chair were both very stable, Zuo Xiangning still felt nauseous with chest pain from the jostling.

She stepped down from the sedan chair, steadied herself on site before Bing Yun and Bing Yu assisted her into the room.
