"Thank you, my lady," Lingxiao said with a smile, playfully bantering with Zuo Xiangning.
After the couple finished eating, Lingxiao took Zuo Xiangning for a stroll in the courtyard.
Zuo Xiangning had only walked a short distance when she sat down on a stone chair next to her, choosing not to go any further.
"Come, let me carry you," Lingxiao squatted in front of her, his back to her, saying, "I'll take you to rest in the bamboo forest up ahead."
Zuo Xiangning gently pushed him with shy tenderness, "I don't need you to carry me, I'll take a rest, and I can walk by myself."
Lingxiao turned around and embraced her, looking down he asked, "Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?"
Zuo Xiangning's eyes were watery as she looked at him, pouting and blushing without speaking.
"Should I go get some medicine from Nanny Yan Xi?"
"Do you not know any shame at all? Spouting anything that comes to mind in public," Zuo Xiangning cut him off.
