Constantine Drake II

As a goddess, Hecate much like other Greek gods often fell for mortals or at the very least became enamored with them. The light of her current attention was not just a very handsome man, he was a legacy of Ares and Nike through his Demigod grandparents.

As a legacy, he was three generations removed from his godly ancestors making Ares and Nike his great-grandparents. He took after Ares in his appearance with him having black slicked-back hair, a strong jawline, and an intense stare in his eyes.

While gods didn't have DNA, he took in the body department as he was 6'4 and could be considered superhuman. His name was Maxamillion Drake, and through the stories of his grandfather, he knew what it meant to be a legacy.

He lacked the strong abillities of a pure Demigod, but he had enough strength to keep himself safe. The gods rarely took notice of Legacies, but through a series of coincidences, he met Hecate.

Both of them got close and became smitten with each other. Eventually, Hecate became pregnant with their child, another Demigod who was just born. 'Sebastian' opened his eyes as Hecate brought him up to nurse.

At the moment, his soul settled in place, but his consciousness was not there just yet. However, Vritra kept himself concealed from Hecate as he didn't want to risk himself or Sabastian.

Maxamillion and Hecate were currently in the human world, in his house. The midwife was one of Hecate's ladies-in-waiting who came to help deliver her child. She was blessed by Hecate and similar to the Hunt of Artemis Immortal unless she broke her oaths to Hecate.

Unlike Artemis, finding love was not something that would break her oaths. Hecate was a quite lax goddess to be in service to us. As Hecate nursed her baby with her Divine Milk. She enjoyed the chance to hold her baby because in a few months, she would need to leave him and Maxamillion.

With a sigh, he just smiled as he looked at his son.

"So, I guess this little guy is going to be the next Gilgamesh. You know, since I am a Legacy. He must be more god than other Demigods."

Hecate smiled as she looked at him.

"In a sense, if he does gain some of the strength of Ares and my blessing of magic I will be happy. Keep him safe until it is time to send him to the camp."

Maxamillion smiled as they were in his room at the moment. He opened the closet and revealed his grandfather's Celestial Bronze greatsword, Spine Splitter, named that way because his grandpa claimed to have used it to cleave the Minotaur in half.

"If need be, I will use this to protect him. My granddad is still kicking and while he is getting old, he still has the strength of a son of Ares."

Hecate smiled as she looked at her new baby.

"What do you want to name him, or do you want to leave it to me?"

Maxamillion walked over and kneeled by the bed to look at his son. He would need to raise him alone eventually because if Hecate stayed too long she would start to become mortal.

"I want to name him after my grandfather, Constantine Drake Jr, I bet the old man will be happy."

Hecate smiled as she reached up with her finger and licked it before writing a small rune on his forehead. She leaned close and whispered a few Greek words of blessing causing the rune to glow.

Maxamillion was curious.

"What was that?"

"Just a good luck charm. I want our baby to live a good life."

Maxamillion got off his knee before he placed a hand on Hecate's shoulder.

"I promise to protect him until the day he can meet you in person. I will tell him everything he needs to know, he will know you love him."

"Thank you, I won't be able to stay with you much longer. Three months."

Maxamillion nodded, but it did break his heart.

"I know, my grandfather told me the same. To not ever become close to a goddess for heartbreak was sure to follow. Guess he was right."

Philomela the Midwife who had helped deliver Constatine, bowed and she walked toward the door. When she walked out she teleported into a burst of colorful dust as she returned to the Underworld.

She didn't want to intrude on her Mistress' time at the moment. When Hecate finished feeding her baby, she placed him in the crib before getting out of bed. As a goddess a birth was something minor as she was already back to normal.

Following the birth of Constantine, over the next few days, she began to separate herself from Maxamillion. He understood this and tried to respect her situation. She began to spend less and less time in the house as the longer she stayed the harder it would be for her to leave.

Maxamillion in the meantime informed his Father, Mother, Grandfather, and grandmother of the fact they were now grandparents and great-grandparents. They instantly dropped what they were doing and made their way to Texas where Maxamillion lived.

He was as far as possible from Camp Half-Blood, but thanks to his grandfather having his house and land warded back when it was built in the 40s he didn't have to worry about monsters.

Back then, his grandfather was 18 years old and a young powerful Demigod of Ares. Now, his grandfather was 64 years old, born September 3rd, 1923. Despite his grandfather, Constantine Drake being 64 years old, thanks to his Demigod heritage he looked to be in his early 40s.

As for his Father, William Drake, born in 1943, was the son of Constantine Drake, and Veronica Adams a Demigod daughter of Nike The goddess of Victory. She was 62 years old and as Demigods they didn't have to fear mortal diseases and were set for a few more decades.

Their son, William, Maxamillion's Father was 44 years old and was born with as a true legacy with powers though weakened compared to his pure Demigod parents. William's wife though was a regular human by the name of Martha Taylor who was currently 42.

As for Maxamillion, he was 22 years old having been born in 1965 when his parents were 22 and 20 respectively. Now, his son, Constantine Drake II, formerly Sabastian was born on September 1st, 1987.

He had waited to share the news for over a month to give him and Hecate time to bond with their baby. The second reason was to give Hecate as much time to spend with her baby before having to part with him.

She decided to be there when Maxamillion's parents and his grandparents came to visit which fell on October 5th, a little over a month since Constatine's birth. That day, Maxamillion had been out on the ranch tending to his horses.

He was in the stables where in the early morning letting the horses and donkeys out to the pasture. Hecate was dressed in some clothes that made her fit in with the ranch life. She was holding Constatine as Maxamillion tended to the animals.

She seemed a bit down as she didn't have much longer before she left fully. Maxamillion knew this so he was also pulling away from her as much as it hurt him.

"It is not easy being a god is it?"

Hecate smiled before shaking her head.

"It's not, though some may say being a Demigod is harder."

He didn't argue as he saw two trucks driving up the driveway. He smiled as his family had arrived which would make this much easier. When both trucks drove near the house, he walked over to greet his grandparents and parents.

The first out was his grandfather, the head of the family who looked a lot like his Father Ares. Despite being 64 years old, he looked far younger as his muscles pushed against his clothes.

His hair was starting to grey, but even still the majority was still black. Standing with him was his wife, Veronica who much like her husband seemed to be quite rough. She wasn't all ladylike, and dressed in a pair of jeans, and a jean jacket with her hair in a braid.

When she saw Maxamillion she instantly walked over and grabbed his face.

"Maxy, how are you doing?"

He leaned down and kissed her cheek.

"Doing great, grandma. Better that you all are here now."

She let go of his face as Maxamillion walked up to his grandfather. His grandfather was even taller than him as he was 6'6. His grandfather smiled as he shook his hand.

"Taking care of the farm, boy."

"Course, I do love the place."

With a chuckle, Constantine turned to Hecate who was holding his great grandson. They had been informed who the mother was, so they were respectful.

"Lady Hecate, I am honored to see you again."

He moved to bow, but she stood up and stopped him.

"No need to bow, this my son, Constantine. Maxamillion named him after you."

He walked toward the goddess and reached out taking the baby in his arms. He smiled as he looked at his great-grandbaby.

"Thank you, Max. I mean it."

Maxamillion smiled as those who were close to him called him Max all the time.

"Of course, your stories were a big part of my childhood. Both of your stories."

Veronica walked next to her husband to look at their great-grandson while Hecate smiled. These would be the family her son would know. The ones who would be there for him when she could not.

As for Maxamillion's parents William and Martha, they both hugged him before they joined Constatine and Veronica to look at the bay Constatine. William smiled as he ran his hand down his grandson's face.

"Now isn't he charming, like his dad and Pa."

Constantine chuckled as he looked at his entire family.

"I know, that is the god's blood running through him."

While Martha was not a Demigod, she was born with Clear Sight allowing her to see through the mist. It was how she knew her boyfriend now husband William was not normal. That went double for her In-Laws who were real Demigods.

Now, Maxamillion who was a legacy got with a goddess increasing the concentration of god blood in Constantine. They all expected him to be an exceptionally powerful Demigod in the future meaning they would need to look out for monsters drawn to his power.

While he lived on the farm he would be safe due to the wards, but outside he could be in danger. None of them, not even Hecate noticed Vritra who was hiding away in Constatine's soul.

He wasn't a Sacred Gear, so his power was not limited like he would have been. However, he had no intention of harming his future partner who just happened to be the perfect host.

As such, he decided to bide his time until Constantine's consciousness returned. He closed his eyes as he slumbered in Constantine's Demigod soul. As for the Black Power Sword of Sigismund, he kept it close to him tempering the blade in his aura.

Even the shotgun that had been accidentally sent with him would make it a powerful weapon in the future. As for Hecate, she decided to spend a limited time with Constantine's family since she only had a month more.

That final month passed by in the blink of an eye as she enjoyed family time with Maxamillion. However, as all gods need to, after saying a final goodbye, she returned to the Underworld.

When she was gone, Maximilian felt a part of himself die, but he did not regret it. He promised himself to be the best Father he could be, and even his parents and grandparents promised to be there any time he needed family.

All in all, all things that the goddess who reincarnated Sabastian didn't want. She hoped he would get terrible luck, but instead, he won gold and things were completely out of her control.

To not deal with the shame of this, she decided to forget all about Sabastian for her mental wellbeing.
