Chapter 19

"Yeah, what did you think? Didn't you say the doll's smile was cute? Unfortunately, I couldn't win it, so I had to buy it," he said, looking at the doll inside the machine, his brows furrowing deeply.

Tservenie watched him, feeling a warm current flow quietly through her heart, accompanied by a slight sting.

In the end, he found the owner of the machine and spent three times the price to buy the doll for her.

"Don't be too moved; it's just compensation for that night..." As they left the night market, this pig had the nerve to say something annoying again.

The slight touch of emotion that had just arisen in Tservenie's heart vanished instantly. She shook him off and walked away quickly.

Daniel looked at her angry back, a joyful smile tugging at his lips. He hurriedly caught up with her, ignoring her resistance, and held her tightly in his arms. Under the dim streetlights, he lowered his head and kissed her deeply.

Tservenie initially resisted but gradually succumbed, melting into his endless tenderness. She didn't know if this was a net he had woven or if he had some genuine feelings. At this moment, she didn't want to think about anything.

She had been bought—just a doll, and her heart was bought by him...

She pushed him away, her eyes filled with panic, looking at the man in front of her, who was also in a state of confusion. Her heart was not without a flutter. It was precisely because everything was out of her control that she felt even more panicked.

"What?" Daniel, somewhat impatient, looked at her, his brows tightly knitted. The emptiness in his arms left him a little at a loss.

"Do men only want physical relationships?" Tservenie asked softly, looking at him. She knew it would be laughable to talk about love between them. However, she still had a glimmer of hope. Even if he was insincere, she would rather hear his fabricated lies at this moment.

"What do you want?" He stood in front of her, reverting to the cold demeanor he had when they first registered. Can a person have so many emotions? Tservenie couldn't understand or see through him.

"I thought we made things clear..." He approached her, lifting her chin gently, his fingers brushing against her smooth skin. "What do you want?"

He asked her again.

He could have been a great lover, never stingy with sweet words for women. But looking at the face filled with sorrow in front of him, he couldn't utter the sweet nothings he used to say in his romantic escapades.

Tservenie looked into his eyes, knowing that what she wanted he would never give. Therefore, she shouldn't have any expectations from him, nor should she let her feelings run wild.

"Can you give me what I want?" Tservenie said in a hoarse voice, equally softly.

Daniel smiled, the temperature in his eyes gradually rising, but Tservenie felt no warmth.

"Women shouldn't be too greedy..." he whispered in her ear, as if speaking sweet nothings between lovers. Then he moved from her ear to her lips, covering them again...

"Home? You're my wife. Don't you know that wherever your husband is, that's home?" he chuckled.

His words made Tservenie look up instantly. This man was starting to act like a pig again. Did he think this was Japan or ancient times, where a woman had to follow her husband after marriage?

"You don't need to remind me of my identity; I know my place very well..." Tservenie glared at him, grabbed her bag, and walked towards the door.

As she walked out of the room, she heard the door slam shut behind her, causing her heart to tremble. She walked to the elevator, pressed the button, and stared blankly at the numbers slowly rising, her heart filled with a sense of loss...

The elevator opened, and just as she was about to step in, someone moved faster than her.

Daniel walked into the elevator and leaned against the side, his hair falling over his deep eyes. In the dimly lit elevator, Tservenie couldn't see his expression clearly, but she could still feel his gaze on her.

"I'll take you home," he said lightly, then fell silent.

The journey was swift, and they soon arrived at her home. As soon as Tservenie got out of the car, she heard the car speeding away behind her. Her steps halted, and she didn't have the courage to turn back for a long time.

Looking up at the stars in the sky, she took a deep breath. Tservenie, to him, you are just one of many women, nothing more... nothing more...

She laughed, then hummed a tune as she walked into the villa.

During school, she always wished she could sleep in until she woke up naturally. But now, in these idle days, she woke up particularly early.

Awake, but lying in bed, not wanting to get up, staring at the ceiling with a blank mind.

Two little girls sat by the window, one delicate and refined, the other charming and captivating.

"Why didn't you call me when you came back? Weren't you planning to stay at school?" Tservenie asked bluntly as soon as she sat down.

Felicity smiled, a thin blush on her delicate, fair cheeks, her large eyes blinking slightly. "I missed you, so I came back..."

"Really..." Tservenie took a big gulp of cola.

"Hehe... My grandpa asked me to come back..."

"What does your grandpa want you to do? Take over the company?"

"Something like that... Maybe he wants me to get engaged..." Felicity took a sip of her coffee, speaking nonchalantly.

"Engaged?" Tservenie was stunned, then thought about her own marriage to that pig. It wasn't something to be proud of, so she decided not to mention it. Besides, two months would pass in the blink of an eye...

"Yeah... So, tell me, why did you break up with Vincent?"

Tservenie's heart skipped a beat, a dull pain spreading through it. "We broke up, and that's that. There's nothing more to say..."

"Tservenie, do you miss him?" Felicity knew that Tservenie always acted carefree, but her heart was still fragile and sensitive.

"So what if I miss him? It all has to be forgotten eventually..." Tservenie turned towards the outside, the scorching sunlight making her eyes sting.
