The Beginning of History
The girl opened the book cover and began reading the first page.
"The universe, or rather, our reality - those of us who dwell in the higher sphere, who can travel from planet to planet, from one galaxy to another - remains a mystery to us. We know almost nothing about our own world.
Because the true beginning of existence cannot be precisely revealed, and is instead shrouded in myths and legends, the historical era officially begins 62,000 years ago.
Records from that time have been meticulously preserved, allowing those of us who thirst for truth to uncover it.
Our history is divided into six epochs.
The first of them, the Nanku Era, lasted 10,000 years. It was an age dominated by the rise of dragons, phoenixes, angels, and demons. Chaos reigned, as the ancestors of these superior races subdued gods and seized control of the three primary galaxies.
The most significant aspect of this era was the revelation that mortals could become gods - an unprecedented discovery that changed the course of history. What began as a battle for freedom and a better life soon turned into a struggle for power. Once close as brothers, the four races betrayed one another. This marked the beginning of a ceaseless conflict, perpetuated through the millennia, one that still rages on today.
The root of this conflict lay in the desire to claim a throne that belonged to none of them.
What came before this epoch remains obscured, though fragments of knowledge persist through the personal journals of the four great clan leaders.
These ancient records speak of an immensely powerful group known as the 'Primordial Gods.' One name appears more frequently than the rest - Valkai.
Valkai possessed immeasurable power and was the very source of life itself. He had the ability to elevate civilizations at will, yet he spent his days merely watching mortals suffer, never interfering.
Some journals mention another being- Maranam.
Many claimed she was the source of all calamities, the force that prevented Valkai from aiding the mortals.
Beyond these two, other figures appear throughout the texts, but always in a negative light.
The ancestors referred to them as 'The First Generation of Gods' or simply 'The Twelve.'
Precise knowledge of them remains scarce, and most accounts are influenced by the biases of their writers. However, there is tangible evidence of their existence—traces of their great battle.
Abyssus, the desolate stretch of space between the Alpha and Delta galaxies, filled with dead plants and shattered asteroids, is said to be the battlefield where Valkai and Maranam fought for two thousand millennia.
It was in the aftermath of this war that the supreme dragon, Unguibus Albis, along with Mez Lang, the progenitor of the phoenixes, the angel Rishta Saghira, and the demon Sarki, laid the foundations of civilization.
They harnessed the lingering divine energy from the gods' conflict, empowering themselves and joining forces to defeat the remaining deities.
But no one expected the sudden rise of two new races from the far edges of the known universe. These ancestors of the Damianus and Vlade species evolved at an exponential rate, led by two enigmatic figures whose names have since vanished from historical records.
The emergence of these new powers ushered in the Tankam Era. Spanning 25,000 years, it was the most prosperous period in recorded history. Peace reigned, wars ceased, and the races worked together to build a civilization worth being proud of.
But time changed everything. As the centuries passed, tensions grew between the Damianus and the Vlade. The Damianus sought to impose their order upon all of existence, while the Vlade believed in allowing the universe to flow naturally. Eventually, their ideological divide escalated into war - war for dominance over the universe itself.
Meanwhile, the once-great races of dragons, phoenixes, angels, and demons had long since faded from their former glory. Their founders perished, victims of their own internal conflicts.
New races emerged. The beastfolk, whose physical strength surpassed even that of the dragons, and the fairies, who possessed an affinity for life itself that outmatched the angels. War was inevitable.
Thus began the Irattam Era, which lasted for 8,500 years.
If Tankam was the most prosperous epoch, Irattam was the bloodiest and most devastating. Cataclysms ravaged the universe, entire worlds were swallowed by the void, and countless civilizations were lost to the chaos.
Desperate, the remaining beings turned to the Gods, pleading for salvation. Pride was cast aside as they submitted to the divine forces they had once defied.
For a time, peace was restored. But as soon as stability returned, the races conspired once more against the very entity that had saved them from their self-inflicted ruin.
Then came the rise of the Dark Eye, vampires, and Nigris. Though physically weaker than their predecessors, they wielded unconventional and formidable abilities. They did not fight for land or power, but for knowledge. Their era, Nakarta, lasted 10,500 years and was an age of discovery. It was during this time that books flourished, and the importance of life, culture, history, and happiness expanded exponentially.
As Nakarta neared its end, two more races emerged—the merfolk and the elves. With them came another war, though this one was more restrained. Rather than open battles, it was an age of clandestine theft, assassinations, and silent conflicts.
This era lasted only 6,000 years, culminating in an unprecedented event. The superior races banded together to combat a terrifying entity that emerged from the chaos between the Alpha and Delta galaxies. The battle was brutal, as countless historical texts and artistic depictions recount.
The heads of all the great families perished alongside the monstrous being, sacrificing themselves to seal it away for eternity.
Yet from this shared struggle arose hope—hope that the races could finally reconcile.
For the first time, they spoke to one another in terms of peace.
Thus began the current era, Panikkattu, which has endured for 2,000 years.
The Alocanai Council has since maintained order across the three primary galaxies, ensuring an era of relative tranquility. Though minor skirmishes between certain races persist—dragons against phoenixes, angels against demons, merfolk against elves, beasts against fairies—none have escalated to the planetary scale of past wars."
The girl closed the book.
This was the first chapter. An introduction to the vast history spanning 62,000 years.
But she had lost interest in reading further.
She turned her gaze to the window. The vast ocean stretched before her, its waters now painted crimson by the setting sun.
Meanwhile, the small automated system continued to move diligently through the apartment, carrying out its tasks with quiet efficiency.
