He sighed and just as he's about to walk away, and approached the dead monster of the abyss. Just as he was about to leave, he heard a cry.

He looked back and saw a sashimi-like armadillo, its innards were visibly lying around, and its once-sharp claws looked very dull. Fear was the only thing in it's eye.

Vanitas stared at it, and then said.

"What the fuck?!" 

"You're still not dead"

He raised his sword and slashed down, without waiting for the body splattered and the blood and soil mixed together. The monster let out a mournful wail before dying.

After a long journey to nowhere, he stopped beside a big rock. He sat there and took out a bread he had been preparing since coming here.

"The loot from that abyys monster was more than worth my life"

"I guess there's a reason why people risk their lives for something as fighting a monster that out-ranks them"

He looked around and felt a bit weirded out. 'No monster since earlier… What is this' he said in his mind. He closes his eyes, then he activates his sole skill [ Matrix Insight]. The whole place in front of him appeared in grid lines of grey and white. He could see the red hue underneath him, more specifically the rock his sitting at. 

"A monster"

He looked at it with discerning cold eyes. Suddenly an interface appeared in front of him.

He stared at it and chuckled, this monster's surprise attack was the only thing that made it special. Sadly for someone like him, it doesn't have any use. He stood up and jumped down the rock. He starts walking, acting cluelessness about the monster at his back.

The silent movement of the monster didn't escape his senses, after knowing the place his currently at, he knew that losing your guard was equivalent to death. Then he sidestepped and tilted his head to the left.

The world slowed down and the tail that was coated with poison appeared beside his head, he chuckled and slashed upward. 

DOOONNNN!!!

The sound of the sand and rocks pushing upward startled the monster, and before it could even understand what was going on, the tail it had was already at the hand of vanitas.

"This would surely taste good, if I cooked it stew, no?"

He said with a deadpan eye and he tilted his head to look at the scorpion.
