Chapter 3 - School day 1

"…And the last phase of the plan would be to simply settle down and prepare the next scouts of the Confederacy."

Basil's eyes contracted as he looked around and saw the entire audience talking fervently. He knew that the viewers watching from home would be reacting the same or even more intensely.

"…Well... ahem, well, Director John, you have given us some pretty surprising news. I thank you for visiting the program."

Click…

Frederick turned off the television and looked at his two children, Sarah, 14, and Alex, 16.

Sarah was an exact copy of her mother, with blonde curly hair, green eyes like two small emeralds, and a small pointed nose.

He knew that his daughter was safe from the clutches of the Confederacy. The problem was the brat sitting next to him, who resembled him in appearance. Alex, his son, was 16 years old and met the Confederation's age requirements. He had short brown hair and dark brown eyes.

Unlike his daughter, who was a little more talkative, his son was what you could call introverted. This made him and his mother worry about whether he could socialize at school.

Frederick knew perfectly well that his son was very intelligent. Alex was the top student in his class, and though he wasn't the best in sports, he held his own compared to his classmates. It's worth noting that Alex was a very perceptive boy.

Haa… this brat is planning to enroll in the lunar academy.

Clap.

"Alright everyone, lunch is done. Alex, Sarah, the bus is about to arrive. The lunch box is at the entrance, don't forget. Honey, your suitcase and lunch box are next to the children's."

Alex and Sarah looked at each other, knowing how upset their parents were with today's news.

"Haa... come on, anyway, there's nothing we can do."

Alex touched his sister's head and got up to pick up his things. He knew that these days would be like stirring up a hornet's nest, totally chaotic.

"Hey, Alex! Sarah!"

As the siblings got off the bus, a shout sounded from a distance.

Two children appeared from another bus, running towards Alex and Sarah.

"Hello Ivan and Cindy, you are as loud as always."

Alex, who turned around first, looked at the brother and sister duo.

Unlike him and his sister Sarah, Ivan and Cindy were brunettes. They both had black hair and dark brown eyes. Ivan was the same age as Alex and Cindy was the same age as Sarah.

"Hey, did you two watch the news this morning too, right?"

Alex was not surprised by Ivan's question.

He knew that for the next two months it would be difficult to talk about anything other than this morning's news.

"Yes, we saw it too. Of course, you and my brother have the best chances of entering the moon academy."

Sarah, who answered Ivan, looked at her brother with a worried expression. She wasn't stupid; she knew that the family couldn't survive forever on her father's salary, and seeing Alex's determined look this morning worried her even more.

"Hey…Sarah, stop thinking about stupid things. Let's all go to class."

While Sarah was thinking about what her brother would do, Alex touched her head and left for class. Sarah, snapping out of her daze, pouted and followed her brother along with Ivan and Cindy.
