“Before you ask, I don't know who did it. Only five minutes ago, I got this note strapped on my door: no name. Nothing. Just splashes of blood on it,” informed James, showing the duo the note in question;
I DID THE JOB YOUR WELCOME LOCATION;
VILLAGE SQUARE
GOLD TAKEN CARE OF
The letter was written in bold, and blood was splat on the note. ‘Great,’ Natalia thought, signing as Maria walked through the door. “Did you tell them about the break-in we had?” she interrupted, placing large pints on the table (there were no age rules for people to drink if they were above thirteen). Her father glared at her, hearing the sentence from her mouth, making her smirk. The duo was dumbfounded and glared at the man before Natalia hit the roof. “Seriously, James!? A break-in. When were you going to mention that?” Natalia yelled, frustrated, questioning how she even put her money on the giant in the first place. “Look, I'm sorry; we all know I have a lot of enemies. I was going to take care of it myself.” James tried reasoning, only to receive a glare from the girl. “I'm too sober to deal with this shit this early.” Natalia groaned, gutting Edmund's pint because he didn't drink.
“Okay. Okay, so someone could break into your office, which people surround; what did they take anything, exactly?” Edmund questioned, looking at James as he shifted in his seat, trying to hide his embarrassment “Dad, what was taken?” grilled Maria as she glared at her father; she was kinder fearing for his life now as the brunette was seconds from murdering the man any second.
“James?”
Letting out a sigh, the giant mumbled words almost gibberish, “They only stole some papers. I didn't think it mattered.” he shrugged, trying to hide his glowing fear from the look from the group he didn't miss how the brunette eyes went deep red making him jump not in shock they were the only few who knew of her ability's but the fear was more the fact that they were red; that means she was angry.
“Papers?”
“Paper that may or may not have information. Information on what we do here....” James trailed off, seeing all three look angry the more he spoke, making the airs on the back of his neck stand up.
Natalia decides to break the silence. Her voice is cold. She is furious with the giant after everything. He doesn't learn, “So you are telling us that YOU... James is the one who has outsmarted gangs and thugs to come out on top. Somehow, he managed to have things stolen right under his nose, and not only that, BUT YOU ALSO HAVE A BEAST AT YOUR DISPOSAL!!” Natalia yelled, furiously. She didn't even let him continue “Am I correct? Or is it the more you want to add James, for everyone's sake? I. Hope they aren’t.” her voice was harsh, and she was clenching her fist to try to keep her anger at bay, Both Maria and Edmund feared for James's life; they both started putting a funeral together in the heads that they could give him. Words were mumbled unheard by the three to hear. “James”, she snapped, “t-the papers they- the-they had y-your name a-and your secret.” Even in his larger size, James was scared for his life; the room went dead silent. Even the notice from the bar was quiet as if the people had just frozen.
“WHAT!”
Natalia yelled; not even a second later, she had the giant slammed into the wall behind him just like she had Tommy; even though the man was a foot taller than the girl, her magic had surrounded him; her magic was flashing red and golden showing she was struggling to gain the control of her anger.
“Natalia!”
Edmund rushed over to Natalia, slamming her into the wall, making her magic evaporate in thin air, and making the giant slam to the ground in a huff, knocking the air out of him and making things shake from their place; “Talia, you need to calm down. There are people outside who would be very happy to turn you in.” Edmund pleaded, trying to get through to the girl as her eyes went from gold to red to her usual blue “I'm going to kill him,” she growled, gritting her teeth as her magic was trying to escape her, but Edmund kept her grasp in his arms. “I know.” he didn't offer any more words, just trying to calm her down as best he could. He tried not to show he was scared as he felt her magic wrapping towards him; it took seconds for it to reach his heart. “Talia, please”, whispered Edmund. Maria was close to ripping him away from her, but she didn't want to cause more of a problem for the two. “Edmund!” Maria's voice was alarmed; she was afraid, and the giant was still trying to grasp what had just happened, even to help.
“It's okay. I trust her.”
The boy promised, looking into the girl’s eyes, which finally stopped flashing in between colours, and the magic returned to the source; as the girl clasped into Edmund’s arms, no one spoke words as she hid as she felt tears about to full from her eyes she can't face the three people in the room knowing how close she was hurting them, and losing control of her magic again.
“Natalia.” Edmund’s voice cracked, hissing in fear he felt just seconds from death. “I- I need to leave. I'll be back later. Erm, I'm sorry about everything. I uh- I need to leave.” Natalia rushed her words and choked on a sob that threatened to leave her mouth.
“Hay, wait, Natalia!” Maria yelled, but she didn't. She was already out the door, knocking people over,
"Hay! Watch where you are going!”
All three were left not knowing what to do now that she is gone "shit Edmund. are you okay?" Maria rushed over to the boy, not minding her father any mind he caused enough trouble with Nataila "Yeah I'm fine I'm more worried about her." Edmund grimaced, shaking off the fear of almost dying. "we need to find her before her magic hurts some innocent child or worse the queen finds her." Maria informed making Edmund's eyes wide in relation.
"shit that hurt" James mumbled.
