A New World
The world shifted around me, in a flash of blue light I found myself in an alleyway… standing in a pile of dog poop.
'Oh for fucks sake…'
I vanished the turd with a wave of my hand and jumped back into my pocket dimension. Selene, Lena, and the girls were already waiting for me.
"Ready to see where I grew up?" I asked with a small smile on my face.
"Are we really back in your original world?" Lena asked.
"I'd like to think so…"
"What do you mean?" Selene asked.
"Well, the date is currently," I pulled up my system to check. "October 31st 2022, that's about a week or so before I got sent to another world."
"Would there be any repercussions in running into yourself?"
"I don't think so, I look completely different but let's not take any chances. I'll try to avoid making any changes to my own timeline."
"That's a good idea, I'd rather not lose you or our daughters." Selene replied.
"There's that too, alright grab on and let's go."
They grabbed onto my shoulders and with a flash we were in the middle of a park. The sun had already set and. I could see trick or treaters walking around. Lena hummed when she saw the kids in vampire costumes and other strange mythical creatures. There was even a teenage girl dressed as Selene. I glanced over to the mother of my children and grinned at the shocked look on her face.
"People dress like me?" She whispered.
"Obviously, in this world the supernatural doesn't exist. We may be the only ones of our kind here."
"But they're dressed like me…"
"Would you rather they not?"
"I- it's just strange to me."
"Understandable, now let's go before we draw too much attention."
Lena spoke up, "I think it's a little late for that."
The girl had noticed Selene and gaped at the 'authentic costume' Selene had on. She let out an ungodly squeal and ran up to Selene.
"OMG your costume is amazing! Where did you get it? Who did your make up? You look exactly like Kate Beckinsale… wait are you Kate Bec-"
I snapped my fingers and froze the world around us. Selene was gaping at the breakneck speed the girl threw questions at her. I chuckled and took her hand.
"Come on, let's go I'd rather not freeze time for too long."
Selene nodded before following me, Lena trailed behind us glancing at the various frozen trick or treaters. It honestly was like taking a kid to a candy shop with how amazed Lena looked at everything. Eventually we came to a secluded street and I unfroze the world. But not before throwing a flew glamours around disgusting everyone so that there wouldn't be a repeat of what had happened mere moments ago.
I took out a nondescript minivan from my inventory and ushered everyone inside. Lena and Selene each took a twin on their lap as I got in the driver seat. I had forgotten how crowded my old hometown was. The heavy traffic and countless droves of people did a fair job of reminding me. Eventually we arrived at a Hilton hotel and I checked us in to a suite. The receptionist gaped at me for a moment before filling out a form on her computer and handing me the keycards. As we walked away to find our rooms I over heard the receptionist whispering on her phone excitedly about how she just ran into 'Brad Pitt' in disguise with two unknown women.
'Fuck… I forgot that I didn't put a glamor on myself. Hopefully this doesn't bite me in the ass.'
