Samantha had been through hell. She had dodged knives, fought an overenthusiastic werewolf and his past trainer, and endured Orion's unrelenting torture sessions. But nothing—nothing—could have prepared her for today's training.

Because today, Orion had decided to make things worse.

"You're going to train with Callum," Orion announced, his silver eyes gleaming with something close to amusement.

Samantha frowned. "Okay... so? We've fought before."

Orion smirked. "Not like this."

Something about his tone sent a shiver down her spine. She turned toward Callum, who stood a few feet away, rolling his shoulders as if loosening up for a battle. His violet eyes held an eerie calm, but there was something else there, something predatory.

Then Orion dropped the bombshell.

"This time, the fight isn't physical. It's mental."

Samantha blinked. "Come again?"
