"You're welcome, it's just a matter of raising your hands." Ash waved his hand slightly. These things were just a few words and didn't take much effort.

"Your dream is to become an excellent trainer like your father?" Misty asked curiously.

"No, it's not. In fact, being a Gym Trainer is a last resort. Compared with battling Pokémon, I prefer taking care of them. My dream is to become a Pokémon Breeder."

Brock shook his head slightly. Although his parents' departure made him support the whole family by himself, he didn't blame them when they came back. In fact, he enjoyed taking care of others, which is why he wasn't too interested in Pokémon battles. Being a Gym Trainer was just to make ends meet.

"Is it a Pokémon Breeder? you are indeed very suitable!" Misty muttered. Considering how well he took care of his family and siblings, being a breeder did seem fitting.

"Okay! Since we want to go together, let's go!" Ash said. Brock joining them was a good thing.

Besides taking care of people, Brock also pursued a high quality of life. Even in the wild, he wouldn't settle for less. With Brock around, it was like having a full logistics department. Ash, unlike in the anime, couldn't cook, so having Brock around made everything easier.

"Let's go!" Brock and Misty responded, and the three of them started walking together.

To reach their next stop, Cerulean City, Brock quickly took out a map to determine the route. If they walked through Mt. Moon, they could reach Cerulean City as quickly as possible, but they had to traverse the mountain's caves.

"As long as we pass through the cave at the base of Mt. Moon, we'll reach Cerulean City in no time," Brock explained as they walked.

"Although I've heard about Mt. Moon, I'm still curious about why it's called that," Misty said.

Despite being from Cerulean City and close to Mt. Moon, Misty had never been In Mt. Moon. Most people in Cerulean City seemed to dislike the rocky terrain. When she came by bicycle, she took a detour, avoiding the rugged mountain road. This was her first visit to Mt. Moon.

"A long time ago, a meteorite from the moon fell on this mountain, so it was named Mt. Moon," Brock, who was a native of Pewter City, explained.

"And that meteorite, was made up of Moon Stones, which is a rare ore with mysterious power that can make some Pokémon evolve!"

The Moon Stone's role for some Pokémon to evolve was no secret. While it didn't work for all Pokémon, people were amazed when they discovered its power long ago. As a result many scholars, scientists, explorers, trainers, and traders from all over the world flocked to the mountain, hoping to find the precious Moon Stones.

When the meteorite fell, the force of the explosion scattered many Moon Stone fragments all over the mountain. The first people who arrived could easily pick up a few Moon Stones.

The initial beneficiaries were the people of Pewter City. Pewter City developed based on this situation, becoming a city known for its rock and mineral industries. As more people arrived, the Moon Stones became scarcer, and the exact location where the meteorite fell remains unknown. Eventually, the number of people searching for Moon Stones decreased.

"So that's how Moon Stones came to be!" Misty responded in surprise.

Of course, she knew about Moon Stones, but they were rare and precious. While they could be bought elsewhere, the prices were very high.

"Do you think we could get lucky and find one?" Misty asked naively.

"Oh! If it were that easy, others would have already picked them all up," Ash said without hesitation.

"Humph! Can't you let others dream even a little? You really are a spoilsport." Misty turned her head away in a huff. Just when Ash was about to respond, they heard a noise.

"Ah!!!!"

"Pika!!" Pikachu's ears twitched. Even if Pikachu hadn't noticed it, they all heard it.

"What is that sound?"

"Let's check it out!" Ash took the lead, and the three of them quickened their pace. They soon saw a figure in a white coat lying on the ground with his head in his hands. Several blue figures hovered above, surrounding the man.

"Those Pokémon are Zubat! There are so many of them!" Misty exclaimed.

Zubat's whole body is dark blue, with deep and shallow purple cochleae and wing membranes. Four white teeth are visible in its wide-open mouth, and it has no eyes. Zubat has two slender, V-shaped tails and can hang upside down in caves, though its feet are not visible.

"Why are Zubat out during the day?" Brock was surprised, as Zubat dislike light and prefer darkness, making it unusual to see them outside during the day.

"Let's save that person first! Pikachu, use Thunder Shock!"

Without wasting any time, Ash commanded Pikachu. Pikachu jumped from Ash's shoulder and released a powerful electric attack, striking the Zubats in the air. Since Zubat is a Flying-type, the electric attack was especially effective.

The Zubats screamed as they were hit and, after Pikachu's attack ceased, they flew back toward the cave in a panic.

Out of the corner of his eye, Ash noticed Brock holding a Poké Ball, and he couldn't help thinking, "This guy sure is quick."
