"Pika~~~chu!!!!"
With a command, Pikachu instantly unleashed a powerful electric current, sending bolts of electricity surging through the air, striking the flying debris.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Explosions erupted in the sky, and as the smoke spread, everything was obscured by a thick, dark cloud.
"Graveler, use Stomp!"
Despite the lack of visibility, Sundae continued the offensive. Graveler suddenly leaped through the smoke, light shining from its feet, and descended from the sky, aiming to crush Pikachu.
"Quick Attack!"
Ash, noticing the looming threat, quickly gave another order. Upon hearing it, Pikachu's body flashed with a silver light, and it swiftly darted away.
As the silver flash disappeared, Graveler's heavy body crashed down like a bomb, hitting the ground with a loud bang. The ground shook, and dust rose into the air, but Pikachu had already moved out of harm's way.
"Are you just going to keep dodging?" Sundae was growing frustrated as her attacks continued to fail.
"Want to finish this quickly? Pikachu, use Thunder Shock!" Ash smirked, his eyes flashing with determination as he initiated the next attack.
"It's pointless. Electric-type moves won't work against Graveler," Sundae replied confidently, believing Pikachu's attack would be ineffective.
"Heh, who said I was aiming for Graveler?"
Ash grinned. Sundae paused in confusion, then saw Pikachu's electric attack strike the ground instead. The force of the impact shattered the ground, sending stones flying into the air.
For a moment, the sky rained down with stones. No one knew what Ash was planning.
"Pikachu, use Quick Attack to climb the stones!"
Ash called out, and Pikachu, enveloped in silver light, leaped into the air, using the falling stones as stepping stones.
With each jump, Pikachu's speed increased, using the airborne rocks to propel itself forward. Graveler, and even the students watching, could no longer track Pikachu's movements.
"Graveler, use Rock Blast!"
Seeing Pikachu rushing toward him, Sundae felt an unexpected surge of fear. She hurriedly gave the order, and Graveler launched stones at Pikachu.
But Pikachu was too fast. Before the rocks could explode, Pikachu was already using them as steps, swiftly approaching Graveler.
The stones shattered, and debris flew everywhere, but it couldn't catch up with Pikachu. At that moment, Pikachu had already closed in on Graveler.
"Pikachu, use Iron Tail!" Ash seized the opportunity, and Pikachu leaped from the last stone, spinning in the air as its tail gleamed with a metallic sheen.
"What?! Pikachu can use Iron Tail?!" Sundae gasped, realizing things were about to take a turn for the worse.
He wanted Graveler to dodge, but with Pikachu's incredible speed and Graveler's own sluggishness, there was no chance to evade. Pikachu spun his body to add more force to his attack.
Boom!!!
Iron Tail slammed down on Graveler's face, combining the power of Pikachu's sprint, the momentum of the fall, and the force of his rotation.
Boom! Boom!
The ground beneath Graveler split instantly, forming a circular crack that spread outward. Graveler's body sank deeply into the earth.
A thick cloud of smoke filled the air, engulfing both Pikachu and Graveler. Everyone instinctively raised their hands to shield themselves from the blast of wind, and slowly, the smoke began to clear.
In the center of the battlefield, a deep pit was revealed, with Graveler lodged inside, its eyes rolling dizzily. Cracks spread outward from the pit, leaving an unsettling impression on the spectators.
At that moment, Pikachu, the victor, stood triumphantly on Graveler's body. Seeing Graveler motionless, Pikachu jumped off excitedly and ran toward Ash.
"Pi-Ka-Chu!!"
"Great job, Pikachu!" Ash smiled, gently patting Pikachu on the head.
"As expected of Ash," Brock remarked, gazing at the scene in awe. "If any part of that sequence had gone wrong, there would have been no way to defeat Graveler in a single blow."
Rock-types are indeed weak to Steel-type moves, but Graveler's Ground typing reduced the damage. Even so, Pikachu managed to take Graveler down with one strike, relying on continuous acceleration, combined with the downward force and rotation, to maximize Iron Tail's power.
"I... I actually lost!" Sundae stared at the scene in disbelief, unable to process her defeat.
Not only was she defeated, but it happened despite having a clear type advantage. This was a harsh blow to Sundae, who had always considered herself a top-tier Trainer.
"The best student just lost!!"
The surrounding students began whispering. Sundae was known as the top student at the school and the most promising Trainer of the year, but no one expected her to be defeated by an outsider like this.
After a moment, Sundae sank to the ground, feeling lost, and quietly returned Graveler to its Poké Ball. She had nothing left to say; Ash had not only defeated Graveler but also shattered her pride.
"Wow... that was incredible!" Joe, who had been watching from nearby, looked at Ash with a mix of surprise and admiration.
"I've never seen anything like this in the books... Pikachu can use a Steel-type move?"
Joe wasn't the only one surprised; many others were too. While students like Joe had limited knowledge, even the more knowledgeable students were taken aback.
Their textbooks detailed the levels at which Pokémon could learn certain moves, but Pikachu's Iron Tail wasn't listed at all. Yet here was Ash, using it right in front of them—something completely absent from their textbooks.
