Chapter 7: The Dream Team

He's exactly the kind of person you need on your team, especially if you want to get your hands on any sensitive information that Alberto might be hoarding.

You dial Cam's number, your heart racing as you wait for him to pick up. After a few tense moments, he finally answers, his voice cautious and guarded. "Who is this?"

"It's Tommy Vercetti." "And why should I care?" Cam shoots back, his skepticism evident even through the phone.

You take a deep breath, knowing you need to tread carefully. "Look, Cam, I know you're a skilled hacker, and I could use someone with your talents on my team. I'm willing to offer you a cut of my operations, as well as protection from Alberto's wrath. He's a dangerous man, and you know it."

There's a long pause on the other end of the line as Cam weighs his options. Finally, he speaks, his voice low and cautious. "What kind of protection are you offering?"

"The best kind," you reply, your voice firm and confident. "I've got connections, and I can make sure you're well-hidden from Alberto's reach. Plus, I'm willing to offer you a percentage of my profits, which is more than you'd get working for him."

Cam takes another moment to consider your offer. You can hear the gears turning in his head as he mulls it over. Finally, he speaks. "I want proof," Cam says, his voice low and measured. "I want you to show me that you can protect me before I commit to anything."

You consider his request for a moment. You understand his hesitance, given the danger that comes with working in the underworld. You decide to offer him a show of good faith, something that will prove your capabilities without compromising your position. You respond, "Meet me at the corner of Ocean Beach and Elsworth. I'll show you what I can do. But remember, time is of the essence. We need to move quickly if we want to take down Alberto."

Cam agrees, and you hang up, feeling a sense of accomplishment. You've managed to convince two dangerous men to join your cause, and now it's time to focus on the final piece of the puzzle. You glance over at Ken, who's been quietly observing the conversation. He gives you a subtle nod, acknowledging your progress.

You head out to meet Manny, your mind focused on the task at hand. The streets of Vice City are bustling with activity, but you hardly notice, lost in thought. You arrive at the designated spot and wait, your senses on high alert. After a few tense moments, a burly figure emerges from the shadows. It's Manny, his muscular frame clad in a leather jacket, his face marked with scars and tattoos.

"You're late," Manny growls, his tone low and menacing.

"I'm here now."

You meet Manny's challenging gaze, your own expression serious. "I need your help to take down Alberto. He's become too powerful, and we need to stop him before it's too late."

Manny raises an eyebrow, intrigued. "What's the plan?"

You outline the details of the operation, explaining how Candy will infiltrate Alberto's mansion and gather crucial intelligence. Manny listens intently, his eyes narrowing as you describe the layout and security measures of the compound. You can see the gears turning in his head, as he processes the information, weighing the risks and benefits of joining your cause. He asks a few pointed questions, which you answer confidently, solidifying his trust in you. "I'm in," Manny declares, his voice firm and unwavering. "I'll help you take down Alberto, but I want a bigger cut of the profits once this is over. And I want it in writing."

You agree to his terms, making a mental note to keep your word. You shake hands, sealing the deal. As you and Manny discuss the details of the operation, a sleek black car pulls up next to you. The passenger window rolls down, revealing a familiar face - Cam. "I'm here," he calls out, his voice laced with a hint of excitement.

You nod in his direction, signaling for him to join the conversation. Cam gets out of the car, his eyes scanning the area warily. He walks over to you, and you introduce him to Manny. The two men exchange brief nods, sizing each other up.

You turn to Cam, your expression serious. "Alright, I promised to show you I can protect you. Let's take a drive." You gesture towards a nearby car, a sleek black sedan that you've had your eye on since you arrived. Cam nods, understanding the unspoken message. He slides into the passenger seat, and you follow suit, slamming the door shut behind you.

As you pull away from the curb, you keep one eye on the rearview mirror, watching for any signs of pursuit. You drive through the bustling streets of Vice City, your senses on high alert. Suddenly, a motorcycle roars up alongside you, and a shot rings out. The bullet shatters the back window, sending shards of glass raining down on Cam. He ducks, cursing under his breath.

You react quickly, swerving the car towards the motorcycle and forcing the rider to break off his pursuit. You catch a glimpse of his face before he disappears from view - it's one of Alberto's men, his eyes cold and deadly. Your grip on the steering wheel tightens as your heart races, the adrenaline pumping through your veins.

"Get down!" you shout to Cam as another shot rings out, this one narrowly missing your head. You floor the accelerator, weaving through traffic in a desperate bid to lose your pursuer. Cam follows your instruction, slumping low in the seat, his breath coming in shallow gasps. You can hear the fear in his voice as he asks, "What the hell is going on, Vercetti?"

You grit your teeth, focusing on the road ahead as you reply, "Just some unwanted attention from Alberto's goons. Don't worry, I've got this under control."

As you continue to navigate the busy streets, you spot a narrow alleyway up ahead. You veer the car into the alley, the walls closing in around you as you accelerate. The motorcycle follows, but the narrow space makes it difficult for the rider to maintain his pursuit. You see an opportunity and seize it, slamming on the brakes and skidding to a stop, causing the motorcycle to crash into the car's rear end.

The rider is thrown off the bike, landing hard on the pavement. He groans in pain, but you don't wait around to see if he'll get back up. You quickly exit the car, your hand instinctively reaching for the gun in your waistband. The rider struggles to his feet, his face a mask of pain and anger. But before he can react, you take advantage of his vulnerable position and disarm him, the gun sliding across the ground and out of reach.

With a swift, brutal motion, you grab the rider and slam him against the wall, your forearm pressed against his throat. You can feel his pulse racing, his breath hot and labored against your skin. Your grip tightens around the rider's neck, the desperation and fury coursing through your veins. You need answers, and you need them now. You slam the man against the wall again, his head cracking against the concrete with a sickening thud.

"Alberto sent you?" you growl, your voice low and menacing.

The rider gasps for air, his eyes wide with terror. He tries to speak, but his voice is hoarse, his words barely audible. "Y-yes," he chokes out. With a quick, efficient motion, your gun pressed against his temple. The sound of the shot echoes through the alley, the silence that follows even more chilling. You stand over the body, your breathing heavy, your heart pounding in your chest. The gravity of what you've just done settles over you like a shroud, but there's no time to dwell on it.

You turn to Cam, who's watching you with a mixture of fear and awe. "Get in the car," you order, your voice cold and detached. Cam nods, quickly getting into the car. You take a deep breath, trying to steady your nerves. You've just killed a man, and it's a feeling that's all too familiar to you. But you can't afford to let it weigh you down. Not now.

As you get into the car, you realize that you need to get moving. You need to put some distance between yourself and the body. You pull out of the alley, your tires screeching against the pavement. Cam, still visibly shaken, speaks slowly. "You're not messing around, are you?"

"Not when it comes to my business," you reply, your voice firm and unyielding. "Now that we've established that I can protect you, let's focus on the task at hand. We need to take down Alberto and his operation. Are you still with us?"

Cam hesitates for a moment, then nods again. "Yeah, I'm in." You turn your attention back to the road, your mind already racing with plans and strategies. The night is still young, and there's much work to be done.
