Chapter 13: The Dark Sorcerer's Return

Chapter 13: The Dark Sorcerer's Return

Khem's heart raced as he listened to Krit's words. He couldn't believe that Malakai was still alive, and now he was coming for him. He immediately woke up Sun and told her the news. Together, they decided to investigate and gather more information about Malakai's plans.

As they attempted to sneak out of the ancestral home, Sun's grandmother appeared out of nowhere, her eyes blazing with a fierce determination. "Don't you dare leave this house!" she commanded, her voice low and urgent.

Khem stood tall, his resolve unwavering. "We have to go to Bangkok, Grandmother. We have to stop Malakai."

Sun's grandmother grasped his arm, her grip surprisingly strong. "You don't know what you're up against, Khem. Malakai is not to be trifled with."

Khem's heart raced as he looked into her eyes. "We know he's dangerous, but we have to try."

The old woman's gaze seemed to bore into his soul, as if searching for something. Then, her expression softened, and she spoke in a whisper. "Khem, Malakai is your father."

Khem's world spun upside down. "What?! No, that's impossible!"

Sun's eyes widened in shock, her face pale. "Grandmother, what do you mean?"

The old woman's eyes filled with tears. "I'm so sorry, Khem. I should have told you long ago. Your father, Malakai, was once a good man, but darkness consumed him. He's been searching for you, Khem. And now, he's found you ".

"Malakai is your father, Khem," Sun's grandmother revealed, her voice heavy with emotion. "He was connected to the underworld, but he fell in love with your mother, a powerful Shaman. They had you, but their happiness was short-lived. Your uncle, Malakai's brother, sought to destroy you, but your mother, the greatest Shaman of all, protected you by killing her own brother-in-law. To avenge his brother's death and assume his dark powers, your father took on the name Malakai, becoming the evil force he is today."

Sun's grandmother handed Khem an ancient, worn-out picture. "This was your mother," she said, her eyes misty. "She left you in this ancestral home, fulfilling her duties as a Shaman, and I've been watching over you ever since."

Khem's mind reeled as he gazed at the picture, taking in the familiar features of his mother, a strong and beautiful woman with a fierce determination in her eyes.

Khem's eyes remained fixed on the picture, his mind struggling to process the truth. He felt like he was living a nightmare, unable to wake up from the darkness that had consumed his life. Sun's grandmother's words echoed in his mind, "Your father, Malakai, tried to kill you." The revelation was too much to bear.

He felt a gentle touch on his arm, and Sun's concerned face came into view. "Khem, I'm here for you," she said softly. "We'll get through this together."

But Khem was beyond consolation. He felt broken, shattered by the knowledge that his own father had sought to destroy him. He couldn't comprehend the depth of Malakai's evil. The pain and anger swirling inside him threatened to consume him whole.

With a heavy heart, Khem turned to Sun and whispered, "I need time, Sun. Time to process this...this darkness that's haunted my family for so long." He stepped back, feeling like he was drowning in a sea of sorrow and betrayal.

Khem's tears subsided as he gazed at his mother's ethereal form, her words piercing his soul. "The chosen one?" he repeated, his voice barely audible.

His mother's eyes shone with a fierce intensity. "Yes, Khem. You hold the balance between light and darkness within you. Your father's evil powers course through your veins, but so does my own goodness and the power of the Shamanic bloodline."

Khem felt a surge of energy and a sense of purpose, mixed with a hint of fear. He knew that his father, Malakai, would stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

His mother's expression turned grave. "Remember, Khem, your father's love for me was genuine, but his darkness consumed him. Don't underestimate his capacity for evil, even towards his own son. Protect yourself and Sun, for you are both the keys to the future."

With those final words, her apparition vanished, leaving Khem with a deep sense of determination and a newfound understanding of his destiny.

Khem's mind reeled as his mother's words resonated deep within him. Protect Sun, his love? He had never considered his feelings for her as romantic, but now, he realized that his mother's words struck a chord. He did care for Sun, deeply.

His mother's apparition reappeared, her eyes shining with a knowing glint. "In every universe, Khem, you and Sun are destined to be together. Your love is a beacon of hope, a balance to the darkness that threatens to consume everything."

Khem's heart raced as he grasped the magnitude of his mother's words. "But Malakai, my father...he'll try to tear us apart, won't he?"

His mother's expression turned solemn. "Yes, Khem. In every universe, Malakai will seek to destroy your love, to claim dominion over both light and darkness. But you and Sun have the power to defeat him, to choose a different path."

With that, her apparition vanished, leaving Khem with a newfound understanding of his destiny and the fate that awaited him and Sun.

Khem nodded, understanding his mother's wisdom. He needed to learn more about his powers, and what better place to do so than in Sun's ancestral home, surrounded by the ancient energies and wisdom of the Shamanic bloodline?

"Thank you, Mother," Khem said, his voice filled with gratitude. "I'll stay here, learn, and grow stronger. I'll protect Sun and our love, no matter what."

His mother's apparition smiled, her eyes shining with pride. "I know you will, Khem. You are the chosen one, the balance between light and darkness. Trust in yourself, and trust in Sun. Together, you will face whatever challenges come your way."

With that, her apparition faded away, leaving Khem feeling a sense of purpose and determination.

Khem took a deep breath and turned to Sun. "Sun, there's something I need to tell you. My mother just revealed some truths about my past, about my father...Malakai."

Sun's eyes widened with concern. "What is it, Khem?"

Khem's voice was laced with emotion. "She told me that Malakai is my father, and that he's been trying to kill me since birth. But she also said that you, Sun, are my destiny. That in every universe, we're meant to be together."

Sun's eyes widened in shock as Khem revealed their destiny, but he listened intently, his mind reeling with emotions. As Khem finished speaking, Sun nodded slowly, still processing the revelation.

Without a word, Sun turned and made his way to his room, his heart racing with conflicting emotions. As a man, Sun had never considered romantic feelings for another man before, but the spark he felt for Khem couldn't be denied.

As he lay in bed, Sun's mind whirled with thoughts of Khem, their destiny, and the possibility of a love he never knew he desired. The small flame of love in his heart grew brighter, illuminating a path he never knew existed.
