CHAPTER SIX ~ Coffee date

Seraphina sat across the streets in her black SUV, staring at Violet through the glass window of the Cafe she had chosen for their meeting, she was constantly checking her wrist and sipping from her white mug. For someone who was always conscious of the time and hated tardiness, she was twenty minutes late, which had been a deliberate act on her part.

She had purposely let her wait for her because she knew how much Violet hated people keeping her waiting.

Pulling down the compartment above, she checked her makeup in the mirror, adding a coat of powder and reapplying the pepper red lipstick that suited her lips perfectly. When she was satisfied, she stepped out of the car locking the car behind her as she crossed over to the Cafe.

The smell of coffee hung heavy in the quiet atmosphere. Upscale classy ambiance gave the Cafe a luxurious feel, white chairs and matching tables were assembled by the right and left sides leaving a long aisle to the immaculate white counter.

Her black miumiu clicked against the black and white marble floor as she walked towards where Violet was seated, her eyes fixated on her phone, a frown smearing her perfectly made-up face.

Seraphina cleared her throat as she got closer, causing Violet to raise her head, the frown transforming into a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes as she muttered a cheerful hello.

Seraphina on the other hand smiled like she had just won the lottery, seeing the frown and anger on Violet's face that she tried to conceal made her happy.

"so sorry to keep you waiting" Seraphina apologized looking anything but sincere. It was obvious from Violet's narrowed eyes that she knew she didn't mean it.

"it would have been nice to know if you were running late" Violet replied trying to keep the annoyance out of her voice. She had maintained her composure simply because she needed her to join the diamond club, once she helped her, she wouldn't tolerate any bad behavior.

Seraphina ignored her and proceeded to order a cup of Americano. She didn't speak again until she had taken a sip, cooling her throat.

"I was surprised to get your call," she said, crossing her legs and relaxing her back.

"I thought we should have coffee and bond as two powerful women should "Violet smiled cheerily.

"I was planning to reach out sooner but I'm glad you did"

"Do you golf?" Violet asked. "I have a membership at Swiss. It's the most exclusive golf club and just caters to forty members and ten VIPs. It isn't easy to secure a membership, but I was able to secure one" Violet bragged, her manicured fingers lifting to pull her hair behind her ears to reveal the diamond star earrings she had just gotten.

'You aren't the only one with access to an exclusive club' Violet thought taking a sip of her latte.

Even though the diamond club was beneficial with more exclusive members than the Swiss club, she was still glad she was also in an exclusive club that Amanda wasn't in.

Seraphina smiled sweetly before she said "Yes I golf"

Violet pecked up. "Then it's settled, I'll bring you as my plus one this weekend"

Violet said expecting Seraphina aka Amanda to be so grateful that she would offer to let her be her plus one to the Diamond's Club's upcoming gala. Every year for the last three years, the diamond club organized a gala to provide funds for the nonprofit, it was always only open to members, but they were allowed to bring a plus one. Several times she had tried to make her mother-in-law take her as her plus one but the old bat always snubbed her.

When Seraphina did not extend the invitation like Violet thought, she decided to try again when they went golfing. They parted agreeing to meet at the Swiss club.

Violet's lips lifted into a smirk as her car sped away, she watched Amanda aka Seraphina through the side mirror. She knew how to deal with the likes of them. People had been lucky enough to get in a tight circle and didn't know their place. She had researched about her last night, but she didn't find anything useful, so how had she been able to get into the diamond club when she violet hadn't been able to?

She would use Amanda and get into the diamond club, and then with the backing of the club, she would be able to defeat her brother and gain the support of the shareholders.

Violet arrived at the Whitmore department store she was in charge of, she threw her car keys to the valet and walked in, she had to do some shopping for the Prada show. Her mind was reeling with how to captivate Eric Stanmore's attention when her assistant, Sasha came running her journal poised as she

"Ma, the shareholder with the highest voting power has twenty-five percent shares"

"twenty-five percent?" Violet stopped in her tracks. Even she had just twelve percent so how had someone been able to get up to that amount?

"Contact them about buying," Violet said immediately. "Make them an offer they can't refuse, I'm willing to pay any amount"

"that's the problem, we don't know who they are, the shares are registered under a paper company that we've tried to trace but nothing is coming up," Sasha said frustrated, all morning she had called the best hackers she knew to trace the paper company but they all seemed to be hitting a blank wall.

"I don't care how you do it, get me those shares or you can consider yourself unemployed" Violet screamed stomping to her office where she pulled out the company's profile on her computer, and sure enough, htech had the highest shares.

Pulling out her phone, she dialed her husband, being in politics gave him access to information, if anyone could find the identity of tech, it was him.

He picked up on the first ring.

"I need your help…"

*****&&&&&*****

Judy Whitmore stared at the screen of her iPhone, the events of last night completely wiped from her memory. She had gained more followers on her Instagram from last night bringing her followers up to a million at last.

Being a social media influencer had its perks, like the spa day she was currently having at the newest luxurious spa that just opened up. She had come in to rest and get pampered all day but they had decided to insist on not charging her so she could promote their brand.

A text came in from a fellow influencer they had hung out with last night, Marie. She and Marie were not particularly friends even though they hung out sometimes, but they always shared scoops when they went home with a guy after a hangout.

Hi girlie, did you get home okay? Did you get it on with Jake?

Judy stiffened even though no one could see her. Everyone knew she and Jake had left the restaurant together, so she had to find a way to evade the question without raising suspicions after all Violet had taken care of it.

Grabbing her phone, she sent a quick text, stating that he had left her saying he had business to attend to. Jake was one of the most impulsive influencers and everyone knew of his tendency to leave in the middle of anything, so she knew it would be very believable.

She quickly dialed Violet. She picked on the second ring.

"how do I deal with the questions? People know we left the restaurant together last night" Judy rushed out panicked as she chewed on her nails. "if his disappearance is reported to the police, they could check the security footage. I can't go to jail VI"

"then you shouldn't have done drugs" Violet snapped annoyed then she hung up. Even though her sister had always misbehaved and gotten away with it, killing someone was where she drew the line but she knew she could never let her go to prison, she would lay her life to ensure Judy was always safe and unharmed.
