Azrael

"Ice Formation: Ice Fall!" she shouted with a smirk on her face.

Immediately, a cascade of razor-sharp icicles materialized above her opponent, descending with lethal intent. The frozen projectiles streaked through the air, aiming to pierce and immobilize him.

The man quickly clapped his hands, forming the Hollow Wicker Basket technique to negate the sure-hit effect of Rin's Domain Expansion. The technique disrupted her domain's automatic targeting, allowing him to counter her attack. Without losing momentum, he activated his own cursed technique, teleporting behind Rin and attempting to kick her.

Sensing his movement, Rin spun around just in time to raise an icy barrier, absorbing the force of the kick. The barrier shattered from the impact, sending shards of ice flying, but Rin managed to avoid taking a direct hit.

"Nice trick," Rin said, her smirk never wavering. "But I'm not done yet."

She gathered her cursed energy, focusing it into her hands. "Ice Formation: Glacial Strike!" she yelled, thrusting her hands forward. A wave of freezing energy surged towards the man, intending to encase him in solid ice.

The man dodged to the side, barely evading the attack. He landed gracefully, his eyes locked onto Rin with a mixture of respect and determination. "You've got more fight in you than I expected," he admitted. "But it'll take more than that to take me down."

Rin's eyes narrowed, the temperature in the domain dropping even further as she prepared for her next move. The crystalline trees around them seemed to pulse with her energy, their sharp edges glistening menacingly.

"Ice Formation: Winter's Embrace!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the frozen landscape.

The air around her crackled with icy energy, and a powerful wave of cold surged from her body, expanding outward. The ground beneath the man's feet began to freeze, ice spreading rapidly and forming intricate patterns. The crystalline trees seemed to come to life, their branches extending and intertwining to create a labyrinth of ice.

The man's movements slowed as the frigid air and ice encroached upon him, threatening to immobilize him completely. Despite his immense power, even he felt the bite of Rin's icy domain.

Enthralled by Rin's attack, Azrael stopped using the Hollow Wicker Basket and introduced himself casually. "I'm Azrael Rift, one of the six special grade sorcerers. And without bragging, I'm one of the strongest people alive," he said, chuckling with a proud tone.

"Is he crazy? This is my chance," Rin thought, ignoring his introduction and seizing the opportunity to take him down in one attack with her sure hit now working again.

"MAXIMUM OUTPUT: Frost Cal—" Rin shouted, her excitement building as she prepared her ultimate attack.

"Domain Expansion: Translocation Realm," Azrael interrupted, smirking as he formed the hand sign for his domain.

In an instant, Azrael's domain overwrote Rin's, replacing the icy landscape with a surreal, shifting realm of interwoven spatial distortions and mirrored surfaces. The crystalline trees of her domain shattered and dissolved, replaced by an endless expanse of twisting space and fluctuating dimensions leaving Rin speachless and frustrated.

"Your domain is not refined properly, and you lack good cursed energy manipulation too," Azrael remarked, putting his hand on his chin as he spoke, his tone almost bored.

Rin felt desperation claw at her, the realization that her curiosity had led her to what might be her final moments. She refused to accept that fate, her mind racing for a solution.

"First of all, my cursed technique grants me the power to teleport myself and anything I touch. But within my Domain, this ability transcends its limits, becoming far more lethal. To put it simply, I can teleport anything, anywhere, with just a thought. For instance," Azrael continued, his smile widening as he fixed his gaze on Rin, "I could effortlessly teleport your heart out of your body, ensuring your instant death."

Rin's silence spoke volumes, her mind racing as panic set in. She attempted to forcibly reopen her domain despite her depleted cursed energy and the burnout from her earlier efforts.

"Domain expansion: Seas of the crystal forest"

"........!"

Splash splash

sudenly Her nose started bleeding, and a sharp pain pierced her head, indicating the strain had caused brain damage. Rin's vision blurred, and she nearly lost consciousness.

Azrael observed her struggle with mild interest, his smirk unwavering. "Trying to reopen your domain again in one day? This is an impossible feat, you little dummy," he remarked, his tone laced with amusement.

Rin sighed in resignation, accepting her fate as she closed her eyes, preparing for what seemed inevitable. But seconds passed, and to her surprise, Azrael made no move to kill her. Instead, he stood there, smiling at her.

"Are you not going to kill me?" Rin asked nonchalantly, her tone tinged with defiance. "Although I haven't shown my face in seven months, I'm sure you already know who I am. And if you don't... let's just say you won't have a very happy future with me alive."

"I know, I know," Azrael said, continuing, "I really want to kill you right now, right here. But we are in a very difficult situation right now, and we will need help from any source, even if it's from a trashy human being like you," Azrael said nonchalantly.

Rin's eyes flickered with a mixture of confusion and curiosity. "What kind of situation are you talking about?" she asked, her voice steady despite the lingering pain.

Azrael's expression shifted to one of seriousness. "There's a threat looming over us all, something far worse than any individual grudge or rivalry. Even someone like you could be useful in the battle to come."

"Are you talking about Ryomen Sukuna?" Rin asked, as that was the only thing she could think of.

"Sukuna is one of the problems, but he is not the real threat. You will know in the future," Azrael responded.

"…"

"Huh? Are they not taking Sukuna seriously yet?"

….

...

......

"Haha…. Sukuna Now looks like a typical Chinese protagonist that everyone underestimates and ignores and that's hilarious," Rin thought to herself as she looked at Azrael like she was looking at a dumb person.

Rin's skepticism remained, but she couldn't deny the seriousness in Azrael's tone. "Fine," she said reluctantly. "I'll hear you out. But if you're lying or wasting my time, I won't hesitate to turn you into an ice sculpture."

Azrael chuckled softly, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Ha, good luck trying to achieve that," he said. Then, with a more serious tone, he continued, "I can see that you have the potential in you, Little dumm—"

"It's Rin… Rin Akutami," she interrupted, revealing her name.

Azrael paused, then nodded thoughtfully. "Rin Akutami," he repeated. "A name that will be known to many, I'm sure. Now, be my disciple, Rin! We need your help. Your power, your potential—it's all necessary for what's coming." He spoke with conviction, his voice carrying a weight.

Azrael's domain dissipated completely, the surreal, shifting realm replaced once more by the real world. The sudden change in scenery was almost jarring, but Rin maintained her composure, trying to regain her bearings.

Rin, trying to regain some sense of herself amidst the chaos and confusion, started thinking about the advantages and disadvantages of this proposal. She realized that refusing it would probably mean her death, given Azrael's immense power and the seriousness of his tone.

"If you want some time to consider my pro—" Azrael began, but Rin interrupted him.

"I accept," she said firmly.

Azrael raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise flickering in his eyes. "Quick decision. Good. You'll need that decisiveness in the battles to come. We don't have the luxury of hesitation."

"I will be in your care, sensei," Rin added, her tone cold and her gaze disdainful as she looked at Azrael.
