Throwback: Taehyung's POV

I hurriedly shoved all the books into my bag and rushed towards my locker... hurling everything into it. I'm happy to see her take a step towards me willingly. Due to our twisted past, and my unforgivable mistake, I've sworn to protect her. Of course, she's clueless due to her distorted memories- I hope she'll never remember it. It's for the best. I slammed the locker shut to find a pair of familiar pretty light brown eyes staring into mine. Haerim. The thought of her used to pain me a few years ago but not anymore. I feel nothing when I look into her eyes now. She didn't say anything but stood staring at me with her arms crossed, so I shrugged and stepped away from her.

"Does she know the real you?" Haerim asked dully, making me halt.

"What do you want? You left, it was your choice," I exhaled, turning to look at Haerim. I thought I could trust her with my secret, but she ran away from me after unearthing the truth. Because of her, I had a difficult time trusting people.

"How are you so sure she won't leave?" Haerim's lips curved up into a slight smile.

"She can't, even if she wants to," I smirked, lifting up my left hand to show her the ring on my ring finger, causing envy to flash across her face. I raised my eyebrows at Haerim and left her. She left me shattered without any warnings, left me hanging by myself, and now she's hoping for everything we had? I'm no fool. Now thinking about it, Haerim was never sincere with my affection. I was young and desperate for affection, so I let myself sink into her. Reality? She was just using me for fame because no one knew her back then. I thought it was one-sided love because she kept on pushing and pulling me. I thought she was only playing hard to get, but no... she was just using me to boost her ego. And then she abandoned me, without a note or a text. After all these years, she didn't change, playing her mind games with me. Guilt-tripping me to believe I don't deserve anyone... manipulating me into thinking she's my only savior. To keep it short and simple, she wants me back because I got hot while she made no improvements. She pretends to be disinterested upon her return to get my attention, but now she's panicking because I'm engaged to Sora. In the end, I didn't lose her- she lost me.

I went searching for Sora in the study hall, but she wasn't there. I called her over and over again... no answer. An hour passed, and she wouldn't pick up her call. I sat in my jeep, patiently waiting for another hour... nothing. I was calm at first because she was the type of person to just disappear and reappear out of nowhere. Maybe she left to train with Jungkook, but then I remembered Jungkook is still healing in the medical room. I dialed Imo at home, but she wasn't there either. I let out a heavy sigh in frustration, started my engine, and left the empty parking lot. I couldn't focus on driving when a violent storm of anger erupted inside me. I can't let it take over me... not the waves... I don't want to lose control I like did in the beginning. I almost lost her once because of it. Sighing, I shakily pulled over on the side of the road to calm myself. I was resting my head against the steering wheel when my phone suddenly vibrated, so I fumbled my fingers into my pocket to grab my phone in a hurry.

"Sora-"

"We got her," A raspy voice said in a low tone, making me pause in confusion.

"Who are you?" I asked, glancing down at the caller ID. Unknown...

"Abandoned Rubber Factory, Seocho. You have 30 minutes... take longer than that, and the blade will pierce her fragile body for every passing minute. Don't try to bring anyone... save the supreme alpha... or save yourself. Either way. I will kill you both... tick... tock... tick... tock..." The voice threatened through the call as I slowly clenched my hands around the phone. I violently threw my phone against the car window in anger when I felt myself exploding in fury. The waves of darkness swept over me as I slammed my feet on the gas pedal and shot down the street at full speed. I fastened my grip around the steering wheel... as the slithering darkness pumped through my veins. My mind grew dim as I slowly lost myself to... the evil... the darkness I've been trying to tame.

Death, the god of death... trapped within the alpha's body.

Present: Sora's POV

"T-Taehyung..." I choked as I stared at his dilated eyes. His eyes... it was pitch black... as if it was possessed by a demon. He slowly turned to look at the mutilated bodies behind him and the splattered blood flowing all over the ground.

"I told you to wait for me!" Taehyung suddenly seethed at me in rage as he stared at his bloody hands in anger.

"I-I'm sorry..." I choked. Slowly... he averted his piercing eyes to mine. His eyes... it wasn't dilated anymore. The darkness subsided... replaced by his usual deep brown eyes... but... it was burning red with a thin layer of tears in his eyes. He's upset.

"A-Ahhhh!" Taehyung whimpered, gripping onto the side of his head in extreme discomfort. He's angry... frustrated... bewildered by his action. He killed for me again.

CLANG

We both froze when something clattered onto the ground of the factory. Taehyung's head quickly snapped towards the sound of rapid movements and the heavy metallic door slamming shut as whoever it was, ran for their life. Taehyung shot onto his feet and was about to chase after the person, but I caught him by his arm.

"Taehyung hajima!" I sobbed, begging him to stop.

"Sora. Let me go!" Taehyung angrily yanked his arms, but I refused to let go and firmly wrapped myself around him.

"I won't let you-" I choked, placing the side of my head against his chest. Badum. Badum. Badum. I could hear his heart pounding heavily. I can't stand witnessing the way he kills-

"Araso..." Taehyung suddenly softened his voice. I sniffled and pulled myself away from him but before I could even look at him- I felt a blasting force on the back of my head, and everything turned pitch black. Taehyung knocked me out... cold.

At the center of Seoul, South Korea stood a grant mansion with a vast perimeter. Home to the most powerful Supreme Alpha in history, Park Chul Seok. He owned over 80% of the entire nation's assets. Despite his intimidating name, Park Chul Seok was a chubby man with a lumpy face. He was the Korean version of Dorian Gray back in his youthful days, but the immense heaviness of his power turned him hideous as time passed. Although his enchanting visual changed for the worse, he still had countless females swarming him like ants. It was the power and security insurance that attracted them. The royal-like mansion houses rare, and valuable goods of ancient history from all over the world. Maids and butlers bustle all over the mansion at the crack of dawn to flourish the property before the guest arrives. Unlike the other alphas, the supreme alpha enjoyed an entertaining life. Countless investors, alphas, and guests would flood into the property to please him.

The sun was slowly setting, radiating its golden yolky beam upon the castle-like mansion sitting on top of a hill. Echoes of laughter and cheers filled the breezy sky from the crowd feasting within its garden as a 10-year-old boy heaved a bag full of empty wine bottles into a medium-size cart. The boy has naturally curly hair, like a perm, striking messily over his eyes. He turned to look at the supreme alpha sitting in the garden, surrounded by his followers. They held the wine glasses in the air and tossed for his lifelong reign.

"Jihyun-ah! I told you to stay in your room. Go and study. I'll take care of it," A lean-looking maid scolds, approaching the little boy causing him to glance away from the crowd.

"I wanted some fresh air," Park Jihyun replied, turning to look at his mother, the maid. She was dressed in her attire to serve the guests.

15 years ago Kim Minjung, born in Daegu's slum, moved to Seoul to make a living for her starving family. She was young and honest. A heart of gold, always giving more than she takes. Due to her financial desperation, she was deceived into working for a wealthy family. At least that's what she thought they were until she found out about their odd society. It was too late because she had already signed the confidential contract. She worked tirelessly for the supreme alpha for over five years. Little did she know, as she hurried back and forth within the mansion as the assistant staff... she was always being watched by the supreme alpha, Park Chul Seok. Whenever she passes by, the supreme alpha couldn't help but trail his thirsty eyes after her.

It was a cold and windy full moon night when Minjung was working a night shift on the first floor of the supreme alpha's chamber. She was carefully brushing off the dust on the frame of a vintage painting on the wall when she heard heavy footsteps strolling up the stairs. She knew right away who it was, and without hesitation, she straightened herself and kept her head low as the supreme alpha drunkenly passed her.

"Honey-Lemon Tea," Chul Seok muttered, strolling into his room, so Minjung raced down the polished wooden stairs to the kitchen and quickly brought his requested drink. She quietly entered the supreme's alpha room expecting to see the first lady, but she wasn't there, instead, the supreme alpha sat in the armchair facing the huge glass window with his eyes closed. Minjung made her way towards the supreme alpha, then placed the golden tray on the table before Chul Seok as he sat gazing unblinkingly at her.

"Have a good night, sir," Minjung lowered her head and was about to make her way out when she felt a firm grip on her wrist, startling her. She slowly turned to find the supreme alpha's hand clutched tightly around hers.

"D-Do you need anything else sir-" Minjung was cut short when the supreme alpha effortlessly tugged her onto him and began touching her at his will. Minjung quivered in fear like a lost puppy as the supreme searched her body with his disgraceful fingers. She was terrified, she wanted to cry for help, but who'd dare to help her? No one. All she could do was stare at him in tears. She lived the next few months in pain as the heartbreaking nightmare feasted in her head. He took away her everything, her youth, her life, her happiness, and her innocence. The supreme alpha was 30 years old, a married man, and she was only 24, young and graceful. It was unfair- there was nothing she could do but live her life normally as if nothing happened. His presence scared her. She couldn't look at Chul Seok nor be near him after the incident. What happened during the full moon, scarred her forever. Chul Seok was at the peak of his youth and visual when he raped the maid. He was Dorian Gray, and she was the lowly peasant, yet the pain he caused was beyond repairable.

Nine months and exactly ten days later, Minjung gave birth to a baby boy. She kept her child hidden from the supreme alpha and her family because she was ashamed of herself. Though... it didn't take long for him to discover the child. She could have gotten an abortion, but she didn't because she'd be killing an innocent life. Despite the painful past, the child had a part of her in him. A half-blood, half-alpha-half average. Park Jihyun, the boy standing by the cart... gazing longingly at his mother.

"Go and have fun," Minjung smiled, urging the ten-year-old boy, so he nodded and quickly left the garden. Although his mother never spoke about his father, he already knew the truth. A few times a week, when he was younger, his mother would put him to sleep, and in the middle of the night, someone would approach their room in the basement of the mansion. His mother would get up and leave the room with the man, the supreme alpha. He'd take the maid to his bedroom and make her please his body whenever the first lady left the mansion for a business trip. Jihyun's mother would return a few hours later... crying... whimpering quietly as she laid back down beside him at the crack of dawn. He knew. He knew the ugly... and plump supreme was his father. Because of the pain, he inflicted on her mother, Jihyun never questioned his mother about his father.

"Ahh~!" A little girl suddenly plopped down beside Jihyun while he sat under an old oak tree west of the mansion. He was making animal-shaped leaves. Jihyun quietly turns to look at the pale girl with beaming bright eyes, rosy mochi cheeks, and a neatly tied-up ponytail. Her hair was slightly wavy. She placed a handful of flowers beside her, then turned to look at Jihyun. Sighing, Jihyun quietly got up and was about to walk away when the little girl tugged on his pants.

"Where are you going? Make one for me!" The little girl demanded, averting her eyes to the leaf in his hands.

"You shouldn't hangout-"

"Why not? Because you're the maid's child? None sense," The little girl rolled her eyes at Jihyun, so he sat back down beside her and quietly folded the leaf while she watched him.

"The flowers didn't fully bloom yet. You shouldn't pick it out from the garden. Let it bloom first," Jihyun muttered, glancing at the variety of flowers beside the girl.

"It wasn't me. It's those idiots over there- I don't like flowers," The little girl huffed, turning to look at the older alpha boys chasing each other through the garden. One had neatly combed hair while the other had a bowl cut. They're all the anonymous alpha's child. Their parents work for Chul Seok, only the people in the mansion knew about them, and the staff wasn't allowed to disclose their identity.

"Don't girls like flowers?" Jihyun briefly glanced at the little girl. She giggled, then laid back on the grass in her white floral dress with her arms spread out over the grass.

"No. They're boring. That's why I'm asking you to make me one of those," She shook her head and pointed at the half-folded leaf in Jihyun's hand. She was different. Different from the other alphas. She enjoyed nature. She enjoyed being humble... and she didn't care about her status when others took pride in it.

"Here, I'm done," Jihyun exhaled, handing her the cat-shaped leaf so she pushed herself off the ground in excitement to snatch it from him... grinning from ear to ear.

"Thank you!" She cutely smiled at Jihyun, causing his face to flush red.

"Ga Aera! What are you doing with that filthy kid?" The bowl-cut-haired boy jogged up to them with a disgusted expression.

"Yah! Don't say that!" Ga Aera glared at the bowl-cut head. The male heirs were a year younger than Jihyun, yet he couldn't say anything because they were the sons of powerful families... and he was merely an average. He might get his mother in trouble if he argued with them.

"Yah Jeon Minhyuk... hajima. You're upsetting Aera," The neatly groom-haired boy glares at Minhyuk as he rudely sticks out his tongue at Aera.

"Yah! I'm going to kill you!" Aera shot up from the ground and began chasing Minhyuk since he wouldn't stop trolling her, leaving the heir and Jihyun alone.

"I'm Jang Beom Seok. Heir of the 2nd rank alpha," The neat-haired boy smiled, extending out his hand towards Jihyun.

"I'm Park Jihyun. The maid's son," Jihyun spat at the boy and coldly walked away... ignoring the hand gesture... leaving Beom Seok's hand hanging in the air awkwardly.

"As expected from a low peasant," Beomseok scoffed, turning to glare at Jihyun as he disappeared around the mansion.

Present: Sora's POV

Vision

Panting heavily, I ran along the side of a rocky abandoned port... south of Busan's middle school. I didn't know what was happening, but I was panicking as kept my eyes on a tall scaffolding platform by the edge of the port. I was screaming someone's name... with my eyes trained on the figure standing at the top of the platform. I sped up my pace and I cried for the person to come back down, but the person didn't seem to hear me as I ran towards the site. I let out a horrific scream when the person suddenly backed away and jumped off the platform... plunging into the vast sea below him. My inside flipped in fear when the person hit the surface of the sea and disappeared into the dark navy ocean. I let out another dreadful scream, dashed towards the edge of the port, and dived into the icy cold water. I swam towards the spot the guy disappeared into and searched for him, but I couldn't see anything. I was running out of breath, so I swam back towards the surface... I swam and swam, but the surface never greeted me. My chest was burning for oxygen as I desperately paddled towards the glowing light beam above me... but no matter how hard I pushed myself... I couldn't reach it. My body grew weaker... until I lost my energy. I tried to hold onto my breath for as long as could, but I suddenly gave in and accidentally gulped in the water, causing it to fill my lungs. I began chocking in pain- clawing onto my throat-"

Vision Ends

"AHHH!" I screamed, pushing myself up in fright with my fingers wrapped around my throat. I glanced around the white room in panic until my eyes landed on Jungkook. He was sitting up on the medical bed beside mine.

"What's wrong with you?" Jungkook asked as he stared at me in confusion.

"Y-you're awake?" I asked hoarsely wiping off the sweat on my head.

"Yeah. I woke up last night... to find the medical team rushing you in. You were a bloody mess," Jungkook nodded at me unsurely.

"Oh..." I whispered, slightly touching the back of my head. It's bandaged...

"What happened?" Jungkook asked in a worried tone.

"Where's Taehyung?" I asked, scrambling off the medical bed.

"Yah! You can't leave yet! He was here the entire night! He left to get some rest," Jungkook snapped at me, so I quickly stopped and slowly sat back down on the bed. I should leave him alone.

"How's your wound," I glanced at his torso in guilt.

"I'm fine," Jungkook nodded, looking down at his bandaged torso.

"I'm sorry," I whispered apologetically at Jungkook.

"What happened to Jimin?" He asked, brushing off my apology.

"I don't know. He got into an argument with Taehyung after he woke up, haven't seen him since," I shook my head sadly.

"Taehyung filled me in about the girl. I can't believe I pitied that psychopath-"

"He isn't a psychopath. He had his reasons," I whispered, cutting Jungkook off. Jungkook grew quiet and shot me a doubtful look.

"You're still-"

"She was going to die anyways. Yoongi used Jimin to get rid of her. She was, unfortunately, the witness of So-young's murder. She got her hands on the footage and tried to hand it over to the Min. And Jimin knew about it. He already knew about her even before you set them up," I bitterly stared at Jungkook's dim expression.

"Ah... I'm hungry," Jungkook chuckled, glancing away in disbelief. After the brief chat, we both left the medical room. Jungkook went to the dining room to eat, so I went up to my parent's workroom. I pushed the door open to find eomma staring blankly at a leaf.

"Ehem..." I coughed awkwardly, making her snap out of her thoughts.

"Oh. What brought you here? Your father isn't home," Eomma replied, quickly throwing the leaf into the trash bin, then turned to look at me.

"You won't even ask about my well-being? I doubt your love for me even exists," I laughed, steadily sitting down on the armchair as she leaned against the desk.

"Believe me, nothing can beat a mother's love for her child. I stopped showing it to you because you've been rejecting me, and your father. Of course, we understand that you're hurt... - which is why we're allowing you to live independently. We might not come running to you... when you're hurt... but we're always watching over you. We'll always be with you," Eomma crossed her arms.

"Then did you find out why I got kidnapped last night?" I curiously raised my eyebrows at her.

"Taehyung's looking into it. But that's not the main problem here..." Eomma shrugged at me.

"I almost got killed-"

"But you're still alive now. Stop dwelling on the past. Anyways- who's the average you've been meeting up with?" Eomma questioned me. Who- oh...

"Are you stalking me?" I scoffed at her in disbelief.

"No- well... not exactly. I only asked Do Hwan to keep an eye on you-"

"Oh, you're using him to spy on me?! And if he's always watching me, then where was he when I got kidnapped last night!" I snapped at her in irritation. She says she wants me to live independently... but she's using her people to trail after me!

"He didn't physically follow you. He just did some background checks... and he was with us on our business trip yesterday," Eomma defended herself and the guard.

"Leave him alone. Bogum is innocent and harmless. I just want to have a friend who doesn't intend to murder me," I mumbled, looking down at my hands.

"Sweetheart. The alphas might be cruel, but we protect our own people... the average? They live on greed... they feast on weaknesses... and they stab you from the back. The average is cursed to destroy us... that's why we should steer free from them," Eomma warned, staring at me dead in the eyes. How's an average a threat to us? She's so paranoid.

"They're harmless stop exaggerating-"

"The way the average is built is different from us alphas. They live day by day... but we live by the seconds. Their days are long and boring... and our days...? It goes as fast as time will allow it. They're weak in their own habitat... but what happens when you introduce an invasive species to a new ecosystem? They disrupt it. They endanger the keystone species, us. The alphas. They'll feast on us and break us into pieces. Why? Because of their poisonous mentality. They want it simple. They don't want all this power- they want justice. They want a cheap life. They think we're inhumane... they think we don't deserve such luxury, so they try to take it away from us. And they'll never stop until we fall," Eomma stared at me with a sour expression.

"But you lived an average life-"

"It didn't hurt them, did it? Many alphas pretend to live an average life... we never disrupt their society. We lived quietly... humbly amongst them... but when they live our life... when they find out about our existence... they aren't as generous... they envy us... they hate the fact that we're god-like people. They hate the fact that we have superior blood running through our veins... they feel inferior to us... therefore... they believe we're the threat. So they turn us into... monsters while they play the victim," Eomma slowly shook her head at me. I never knew she hated the average so much. She was so good at hiding our status that I thought she actually enjoyed living the ordinary life. But she didn't... as she spoke... I could sense her hatred towards the average. She must've had a reason for it.

"I have a question," I asked, folding my arms at my mother suspiciously. She nodded at me.

"I've never had any head injury when I was younger, did I?" I asked, blankly staring at my mother. I've never noticed it until now. I have a solid memory of my childhood as grew I up, but there are also empty blank spaces between my memories.

"Of course not. You can perfectly remember our ordinary life, don't you?" Eomma asked, unfolding her arms with an anxious look.

"Yeah, I can remember everything. Except for a few missing pieces... it's weird, but I've been recalling visions... these memories... I've never had it before... where is it coming from? Am I going crazy?" I sighed at eomma, who suddenly pursed her lips.

"Maybe you should see the doctor? Or you're probably just stressed. There's nothing to worry about," She shrugged, snapping out of her thought.

"But it felt so real. It's as if I was there myself... I kept on seeing this doe-eyed boy... and a few others... but I don't know who they are... unlike Jungkook... I never had any head injuries, so why am I recalling memories that don't even exist?" I questioned with my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"He had a head injury?" Eomma asked, biting her nails worriedly.

"Oh. He told me about his mother. How she took her own life-"

"Does it happen when you're around him?" Eomma quickly cuts me off, turning very pale. I tilted my head and thought about the visions I had.

"Sometimes... I get it when I'm alone. But yes, most of the time- it's when I'm around him. Specific sounds, scents, or even a movement will trigger it- for absolutely no reason," I shrugged at eomma, who quietly gulped and glanced at her feet in dread. What's with her? Eomma said I was probably very stressed and told me she'd hire a therapist to help me clear my mind, but I refused and headed to my room to get changed. The dull aching pain of the wound on my lower skull kept on bothering me so I tried not to touch it. I quickly walked out of my room and down the living room to look for Imo... hoping to ask her for a favor... to fix Yangcha's keychain... Bogum tried to fix it, but it didn't look right.

"Sora..." Jimin called out from behind me. I stopped dead in my tracks.

"Hmm?" I gulped, turning to look at Jimin, who was standing a few feet away from me with his healing bruises.

"You dropped this," Jimin muttered, opening his palm before me. My eyes slowly drifted to the black metallic pin in his palm.

"Oh. It must've fallen from my jeans pocket," I smiled, reaching out for the pin, but Jimin suddenly closed his palm to prevent me from retrieving it.

"Where did you get this?" He asked, slightly smiling at the black phoenix engraving on the pin as I stood watching him.

"It belongs to a friend-"

"An alpha?" He questioned, closely examining the pin... with an intrigued expression.

"No. An average. Bogum. He dropped it- I was going to return it to him," I whispered, staring uneasily at Jimin's smile. He was eyeing the pin so weirdly... it was starting to make me feel uncomfortable.

"Let me guess... his first name is Park?" Jimin asked, slowly averting his eyes from the pin to mine.

"Yeah. The owner of the cafe. How did you know?" I nodded at Jimin anxiously. I can't really sense his darkness right now, but I still felt unsettled.

"I was just guessing. Here. Have it back," Jimin suddenly smiled and handed me the pin. His eyes beaming brightly at me. How did his mood change so quickly? He warmly smiled at me and was about to walk away when I tugged onto his arm-

"Jimin-"

"Wae?" Jimin asked, slowly looking down at my hand in surprise, so I quickly let go of him and cleared my throat awkwardly.

"The footage... you took care of it, didn't you?" I asked, staring at him nervously.

"Ah. He must've told you about it. Don't worry, we're perfectly safe now," Jimin nodded at me with a huge grin on his face and walked off.

Third Person POV

"What are you doing?!" Aera happily wrapped her arms around Jihyun from the back and looked over his shoulder.

"Making something for you," Jihyun smiled, folding the leaf in his hands as Aera sat down on the bench beside him, then rested her arms on the picnic table. Her baby chubs were gone, replaced by a full face, and a defined jawline. Ponytails were replaced by her loose, long wavy hair and transparent bangs. She was no longer the little girl in the garden. She grew up... a fine lady.

"You should teach me," Aera smiled while staring at Jihyun as he kept his eyes trained on the leaf.

"No. I won't. I'll make it for you whenever you want me to. It's my secret," Jihyun softly chuckled, turning to look at Aera. She leaned forward to peck his lips.

"I missed you, don't you miss me?" Aera pouted sadly at Jihyun as he smiled at her. Jihyun chuckled, then leaned forward to kiss her on the lips.

"Of course, I missed you. But there's nothing I can do. I'm not allowed to leave this place. Did you come here after school?" Jihyun asked, turning to look at Aera, who let out a soft sigh. Jihyun and Aera began dating 3 years ago, it took them a while to realize they were romantically attracted to one another. Aera is 3 years younger than Jihyun, so she's 18 now, and he's 21. They often met back in the days when the alphas came to the Park's mansion, but they've been seeing each other less now because they're trying to avoid suspicion by staying low as the anonymous alphas.

"Oh. Appa had an emergency meeting today, so I came here as soon as school ended," Aera sighed, leaning her head against Jihyun's shoulder. He handed her the cat-shaped leaf, so she took it and smiled. Jihyun wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned in to kiss Aera, so she gripped onto his arms and responded to his lips. Aera bit her lips with a flustered face when Jihyung pulled away to stare at her pretty crystal eyes. He chuckled, then reached out to rub her cheek with his fingers.

"What is life like out there?" Jihyun asked, averting his eyes to the bright city view below the hill.

"Chaotic. Free. But Fun," Aera whispered while rubbing at the leaf in her hand. Jihyun was homeschooled. The supreme alpha hired a mentor to teach him at the mansion instead of sending him to the public school- He never understood why he was never allowed to leave.

"I want to see it, live out there. Do you know what's the worst thing about being a half-breed? It's to be caught in between the bloodline. As an average, you get to live a carefree yet boring life down there. And as a pure alpha, you get to live the hectic luxurious life... but as a half-breed... you're stuck in limbo. I can't live in either society," Jihyun sighed, staring at the city below him with a longing look. All he wanted was to live a normal life. He doesn't want the alpha life- he despises it. Alphas are cruel, abusive, and ruthless. And it kills him every time to be reminded of the supreme alpha's tainted blood... running through his veins. As much as he hated living the isolated life- he kept breathing... he kept walking... he kept eating... for his mother. His father might be a monster, but his mother... she's the most fragile person on earth. He needs to be there for her.

"You will- ani. We will live that life. I promised you, didn't I?" Aera smiled, interlacing her fingers with Jihyun as she turned to stare at the view beyond them. Jihyun wanted to escape from the hill, and Aera promised to leave with him. He smiled and turned his head to press his nose against Aera's soothing hair scent.

"Heol. What a nasty view," Someone scoffed from behind them, followed by soft shuffling movements.

"Shut up," Aera snapped at Jeon Minhyuk. He rolled his eyes at her in response and sat down with Jang Beom Seok... to block the couple's view on purpose. They were all in their school uniforms.

"No. You're seriously disgusting. Dating an average? Tsk," Minhyuk shook his head at Aera with a mocking expression.

"I believe in Karma," Jihyun smiled at Minhyuk, who was eyeing the half-blood in displease.

"Karma? I'll never date an average. I'm too perfect," Jeon Minhyuk pridefully glanced away.

"Whatever- Beomseok did you bring it?" Aera asked BeomSeok, who was quietly staring at Jihyun.

"Oh. Yeah, I did. Why do you need it-" Beomseok snapped out of his thoughts and pulled a stack of books out of his bag, so Aera reached over to snatch it.

"Jihyun needs to study. This book isn't available in Korea and the supreme alpha doesn't care about Jihyun, so I'm borrowing it- take it- BeomSeok's father got it from Sweden," Aera nodded, placing the stack of books in front of Jihyun.

"Does he even know how to read?" Minhyuk asked dumbly, causing Jihyun to look up at him in disbelief, while Aera stiffly turned to stare at Minhyuk, who was cluelessly staring right back at them. Like father like son, Minhyuk was no different from his son, Jungkook. They take pride in their status, and they can be a little dense sometimes.

"Come here..." Aera disappointedly beckoned Minhyuk with her hands as she slowly got onto her feet.

"Wae? I'm just curious- yah!" Minhyuk winced in pain when Aera suddenly smacked his arm. Minhyuk quickly got off the bench and ran away, so Aera chased after him.

"You can keep it for as long as you want," Beomseok nodded, turning to look at Jihyun, who was staring at the books with a plain expression.

"I don't need it," Jihyun muttered, pushing the stack of books away. He quickly got up from the bench and walked off... leaving Beomseok alone.

"Still a pathetic peasant," Beomseok muttered, dully eyeing the half-breed as he left the garden. Ten years passed, and everything was still the same. Nothing changed until the half-breed inherited Park Chul Seok's assets and became the supreme alpha. That's when chaos swept up the entire cult. The darkest times in their history, a period the alphas refuse to bring up nor be reminded of.

Present: Sora's POV

A few days later - After the kidnap

For the next few days, Taehyung was cold and quiet towards me. Though it doesn't seem like he was mad at me. I think he felt guilty for knocking me out that night. I tried to approach him a few times, but he'd walk off even before I got to him. Maybe he's embarrassed about what happened...? I saw what he was capable of doing. I saw it all- his demon... his darkness. Maybe it's the part of him no one should've witnessed... since it made him appear less human. As much as it left me in shock- I couldn't unsee any of it... nor could I run away from it. All the alphas individually have their untamed self under all their pretty masks... as much as it was disturbing... I couldn't dwell on it for too long because it was expected of us. No matter how twisted it was... I had to love him regardless of his darkness.

"What happened to your head?" Minahs asked, sitting beside me as I stared off into the empty sky.

"I slipped and fell," I said blankly without hesitation.

"The supreme alpha is human after all," She chuckled at me as I averted my eyes to the crowd of lower ranks below us.

"What's the new gossip?" I questioned as I watched the fire of rumor flaming across the entire university's ground.

"It's an old one, actually," Minah laughed while powdering her cheeks with a cushion sponge.

"An old scandal?" I asked, turning to look at her... feeling a bit puzzled.

"It's not a scandal, actually. Just a legend- ani... it happened, so I guess it's real," She shrugged as she put away her mirror.

"Enlighten me," I sighed, leaning back in exhaustion.

"Your parents never told you about Park Jihyun? The half-breed? Ah... of course not... no one wants to talk about it," Minah shrugged and nodded her head empathically.

"Park Jihyun...?" I whispered and furrowed my eyebrows. The name... I've heard of it before...

"His father, Park Chul Seok is the most powerful heir in the alpha's history. He owned over three-quarters of the overall assets. Apparently, his wife- the first lady was infertile. Couldn't give him an heir. He had a lot of women and one of them was his maid- Kim Minjung. He raped her, and he got her pregnant with his child. The supreme alpha wasn't fond of the half-bleed, Jihyun. And kept him locked up in their mansion. Anyways- Jihyun somehow inherited his father's power after he passed away- I assumed he was the only person with Chul Seok's blood. He was a really sweet man I heard... he lived humbly unlike his father... lived quietly like the average. The alphas saw his weakness and took advantage of it. He died a tragic death, burned in the raging fire of a winter night. No one knows why... or what happened... it's a mystery... many conspiracy theories circulated within the society... some say it was just an accident... some claimed he staged it to abandon his power... some say he was murdered... and some even claimed he sold his soul to the god of death...," Minah whispered with her eager looking eyes. Park Jihyun... it was the guy on Taehyung's file... but Taehyung said he was just an ex-chief assistant...?

"And why is everyone suddenly talking about it?" I asked Minah in confusion. She bit her lips and stared anxiously at me.

"Wae? Tell me-"

"You see... that was the end of the supreme alpha's reign... because the next alpha was anonymous-"

"They think you're responsible for Park Jihyun's death," Sungho, the newly announced 2nd rank anonymous alpha appeared beside us.

"Me?" I asked, raising my eyebrows in shock. Why? Why me? Why are they blaming me for everything?

"Um well... I know they're crazy, but he died almost 17 years ago... and you've been the anonymous alpha for the past 12 years Sora...," Minah bit her lips awkwardly...

"There's a 5 years gap between his death and when I became the supreme alpha though," I turned to look at her with my mouth hanging open in shock. It doesn't even make any sense!

"Exactly. It's just a stupid theory. Don't worry about it," Minah nodded at me. Sungho was weirdly quiet as he stood staring at the crowd. He became the Jeon's official ally instead of mine because appa didn't quite trust the Chul yet. The Jeon is standing in between us and the other households to ensure my safety. They didn't want the Ryu's incident to repeat itself. Everyone's cautious ever since So-Young died.

The third period started, and everyone left to attend their session while I sat by myself. Why did Taehyung lie to me? What they said... is it true? Is that why he tried to keep it from me? Still... it's better to know the painful truth than believe in the petty lie. I thought Taehyung was honest with me, but I doubt it now... I'm trying so hard to see him in the lights, but why does he keep on shoving me back into the dark? Why is he constantly lying to me?! Wae?! Breathing heavily, I slowly pressed my hands against my forehead to stop it from spinning.

"I'll see you at the party, I hope," Sungho smiled, knocking his knuckle against the table to wake me up from my wild thoughts. I weakly smiled at him, pushed myself out of my seat, and made my way down the hallway. It was flooded with alphas since the session ended. I felt really stuffy from the loud buzzing noises. Ah... it's giving me a headache. I got to the end of the hallway when Taehyung came walking up to me with a straight face. Beside him was Haerim. Taehyung paused to look at me as I emptily walked towards him. What am I to you? Dimly, I glanced away and walked past him as Haerim eyed me bitterly. I'm tired of this game... I'm tired of being lied to... I'm tired of deceiving myself into believing anyone is actually on my side. I felt Taehyung's grip on my wrist as I brushed by him, but I gradually drew my hand out of his grasp and wordlessly walked away. Everything slowed down around me as I walked aimlessly... feeling myself fading from this world. I just want to disappear.

"What's wrong with you?" Someone grabbed onto my hand, so I quickly turned to find Taehyung frowning at me. We were in the parking lot. I must've walked here without realizing it.

"What's wrong with me? Everything is wrong with me!" I snapped in distress.

"Is it because-"

"Tell me why. Why Taehyung- WAE! WHY DO YOU KEEP ON LYING TO ME!?" I cried, shoving him away when Taehyung tried to grab onto my hands. I can't feel anything but the dull aching pain in my chest. I feel so heavy... I feel so betrayed... I feel so guilty for the crimes I didn't even commit! I tried to talk to him the past few days and he kept on ignoring me- but when I don't give a damn anymore- he comes right back and dared to ask me what was wrong?

"What are you talking about?!" Taehyung snapped, roughly gripping onto my wrist with all his might... sending a surge of pain up my arm. He was furiously glaring at me from under his messy bangs.

"Who am I? I know, you know the answer- so t-tell me... who am I?!" I growled while gritting my teeth in anger, glaring right into his burning eyes. I'm mad... angry... frustrated... I tried to understand him... but he lied to me. I even gave up on myself to satisfy him... yet he lied to me. Over and over again. Taehyung blinked speechlessly and gulped at me as I panted heavily. He's speechless. I let out a disappointed scoff and pulled my arm free from his grip... revealing a bright red bruise around my wrist. I quickly turned around to find Jimin leaning against the hood of his car... softly whistling as he played with his car key. He slowly looked up at us with a small smile on his face as I walked past him and made my way out of the university but didn't get far when a black sports car pulled up beside me.

"Need a ride home?" Jimin asked, rolling down the window as I sideways glanced at him. Sighing, I looked forward. The mansion is too far... I let out another heavy sigh, entered the car, and buckled my seat belt. I leaned back against the seat as he drove forward. Jimin glanced at me in silence and turned away... smiling like an idiot. He's crazy. I'm crazy. We're all crazy. Fuck it.

"Straight home," I said shortly leaning my head against the window, then closed my eyes.

"You should get used to it. This won't be the last argument with him," Jimin forcefully chuckled, and began tapping on the wheel. I knew he'd keep on adding fuel to the fire if I responded, so I stayed silent and pretended to be asleep. And as expected, he stopped talking. Instead... he softly hums this ominous melody... all the way home.

Fortunately, Jimin didn't try to slit my throat on our way home because I was too upset to even give a damn about my life. I flung open my eyes and got out of the car as soon as we got home... before Jimin could even wake me up. I stomped through the mansion and banged my door shut in frustration. I let out a shaky breath, then slumped down onto my bed in annoyance. I'm probably overreacting... yet I couldn't help but feel unjustified. I deserve to know everything! Wae!? Why are they hiding things from me?! I need a reason to love him, but- he killed my trust. Why am I always clueless when the society turns its gawking eyes towards me? Back in the day, I'd get pissed and defend myself thinking I'm innocent... but I doubt my innocence now... am I really innocent? There's so much about me that I'm unaware of. Maybe I am the monster. Maybe there's a reason for them to fear me. Maybe... I'm not who I think I am. Who am I? What did I do so wrong... to deserve this?

Sighing, I pushed myself off the bed and headed out of my room. The wine cellar... I need to go there. I entered the living room to find Jimin scrolling through his phone on the couch while Jungkook argued with his father by the stairs.

"-it's unfair! I feel so suffocated!" Jungkook whined at Mr.Jeon in irritation.

"You can't leave the mansion unless you're fully healed. Use the garden if you want fresh air!" Mr. Jeon snapped at his son and marched up the stairs.

"Aish!" Jungkook gritted while glaring at his father and angrily stomped out of the mansion. Jimin looked up at me as he lay on the couch. I quickly cleared my throat and walked off after Jungkook. I pushed the door open just as Jungkook disappeared into the garden but immediately halted when Taehyung appeared... walking up to me... looking very upset. I quickly did a sharp U-turn and rushed back inside.

"Sora hajima!" Taehyung howled angrily as I quickened my pace through the living room, causing Jimin to sit up in confusion. I don't want to talk to him!

"I SAID STOP!" Taehyung bellowed at the top of his lungs... making me stop dead... shocked by his harshness. Did he just- yell at me? Gulping... I took in a shaky breath and continued walking. I won't let him scare me.

"Yah. Do you have to yell?" Jimin asked with his mouth hanging open in disbelief.

"You shut up. Be glad you're still alive!" Taehyung spat at Jimin in anger. Jimin gulped quietly and glanced away in discontent.

"WHY DON'T YOU TELL ME WHY YOU'RE ACTING THIS WAY INSTEAD OF BEING SO FUCKING IMMATURE?! I CAN'T READ YOUR MIND-"

"IMMATURE?! I'M IMMATURE?! IS THAT WHAT YOU THINK?" I roared at Taehyung, cutting him off mid-sentence. He froze in shock when I turned to scream at him. He's offended... he can't believe I had the guts to scream in his face... so what? Did he expect me to shudder and shrink away?

"YES. YOU ARE SO FUCKING IMMATURE RIGHT NOW- IT'S PISSING ME OFF! IF ONLY YOU WEREN'T WHO YOU ARE I WOULD HAVE-"

"WOULD HAVE WHAT? KILLED ME?! LIKE WHAT YOU ALWAYS DO?! HUH? GO ON! KILL ME! TEAR ME APART!" I yelled, cutting him off again, causing his face to burn resentfully. If it's a burden to care for me, then just get rid of me! I don't want to live anyways!

"YAH!" Taehyung fiercely roared. His rageful eyes... burning into mine as he balled his hands into tight fists. I won't back down... I'm tired! I am fucking tired!

"F-FINE. I'M IMMATURE. THAT'S WHO I AM. SO DEAL WITH IT. JUST FUCKING KILL ME IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT! BUT REMEMBER ONE THING, I MIGHT BE IMMATURE BUT AT LEAST I'M NOT A FUCKING LIAR!" I snarled at him as I fumed in rage. I couldn't stand looking at his killer eyes anymore, so I quickly stomped off in a hurry.

"OH DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE- BANG" I slammed the door to my room shut, cutting off his ear-bleeding howl. What I did must have set Taehyung off because he suddenly rattled the doorknob in fury.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I screamed, backing away from the door in tears.

"SORA! OPEN THE GODDAMN DOOR! RIGHT AT THIS INSTANCE- DON'T MAKE ME-" Taehyung banged violently onto the door making me back away in fright. THUD THUD THUD THUD. The pounding on the door grew louder as Taehyung began thrusting and kicking it with all his might. Fuck... I need to get out of here before he busts inside. I quickly dashed over to the glass window and slid it open in a hurry.

"ARGHHH! OPEN THE DOOR!" Taehyung bellowed in anger, beating harder on the door, causing fear to loom over me. I quickly rushed onto the balcony and looked down. Should I jump? I'll break my legs if I throw myself off the edge. Biting onto my lips... I turned to find the thin rim of the window's frame below my balcony and gulped. BANG BANG BANG. The window began rattling at the immense force Taehyung was letting out onto my door. Gulping... I pulled my feet over the railings and carefully placed my feet on the window's rim of the floor below. If I fall... I might even break my neck and die. Shakily exhaling, I grasped onto the railing of my balcony and carefully lowered myself down the side of the mansion.

"AH KAMJAGIYA! What the hell are you doing?!" Jungkook gasped in fright. I quickly glanced down to find him staring up at me from the garden below. His eyes grew wide open in shock as he watched me hanging over the railings.

"Taehyung's trying to murder me," I replied, carefully settling my feet on the corner of the window as Jungkook watched me with his mouth hanging open in disbelief.

"Yah! You'll fall! What the hell?! Are you trying to be a spider woman?!" Jungkook snapped, rushing to the area below me, and held out his arms.

"Don't pull me!" I snapped, feeling a soft tug on my feet.

"I'm not pulling!" Jungkook argued... yet he continued to tug me unconsciously.

"Jungkook!" I screamed in horror when my hands suddenly slipped, making me misplace my feet and fell right off the rim.

"AH!" Jungkook yelped in shock when I fall hard onto him, sending us tumbling into the garden's bush. Thud.

"Owwww!" We both groaned in pain.

"Why did you tug me, you idiot!" I groaned while rubbing my back as Jungkook lay beneath me.

"Ahh~ My injury... are you crazy?! Do you really think you have some sort of superpower?! Ah! You're out of your mind!! How can you be so stupid?!" Jungkook whined while screwing his face in pain as he rested his head on the dirt.

"Yah- BANG" I was cut off when I heard the window of my room flinging open, followed by heavy shuffling on the balcony above us. Jungkook suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist, drew me close to him, and rolled over me. I panicked at his sudden action and almost yelped but Jungkook placed his hand firmly on my mouth to stop me from making any sounds. He held me in the shadow of the dark bushes as Taehyung searched the garden from the balcony above us. Jungkook and I... silently stared at each other... eye to eye in the dark... waiting for Taehyung to leave. I could feel Jungkook's chest against mine as he rested on me. His face was only a few inches away from mine as we lay in the tangled bushes... softly panting in fear. Jungkook suddenly pulled his hands off my lips and wordlessly stared at me. His eyes slowly drifting down to my lips, causing my cheeks to heat up-

"GET THE GUARDS! SHE'S NOT LEAVING THE MANSION!" Taehyung suddenly roared from above us. Fuck! I quickly pushed Jungkook off me and sat up...

"You're really in trouble- Where are you going!? Yah!" Jungkook quickly pushed himself off the ground and chased after me as I bolted through the garden... heading towards the back hall of the mansion.

"Go away! Why are you following me!" I snapped at Jungkook in annoyance when he wouldn't stop trailing after me.

"There's no way out of the mansion. The property is heavily secured!-" He argued as I pushed the hall's door open and entered the dark venue.

"Shut up before I kill you-"

"AH! YOU SCARED ME!" Imo gasped in shock when Jungkook and I suddenly ran into her in the back room while she was inspecting the place.

"O-Oh... Imo...," I stuttered, stopping dead in my place. Jungkook stumbled into me, pushing me forward but he caught my shoulders to stabilize himself.

"Why are you two here?" Imo asked just as we heard the hall's door opening, followed by the rapid movements of the guards storming inside.

"Imo- please- help us! Jebal!" I desperately grabbed onto her warm hands as the footsteps approached us.

"What? Why?! What's going on?-"

"Just please pretend as if you didn't see us!" I begged her as she looked at us in confusion.

"Sora!" Jungkook suddenly yanked my arm and pushed me into the staff's room, leaving imo in the hallway alone just as the footsteps reached her. Jungkook pushed me under the table of the darkroom... nervously watching Imo stand in the hallway. Still baffled... she turned towards us. No... please look the other way. Jungkook interlaced his fingers with mine to give me a reassuring squeeze as imo turned to face someone.

"Oh- Taehyung. What brought you here?" Imo asked, nervously staring at Taehyung, but we couldn't see his face because the wall blocked our view.

"Have you seen Sora?" Taehyung asked in a low voice, causing Imo to tense up anxiously. She gulped and briefly glanced at us before turning back to him as we hid in the darkroom.

"Taehyung. Are you okay? You don't look well-"

"I asked if you've seen her?" Taehyung gritted darkly. Imo turned stiff.

"O-of course not. Why would she be here? I was just inspecting the storage room-"

"Guards. Search the place," Taehyung said shortly, causing my heart to race in panic. Imo suddenly turned pale at his command.

"She's not here! I just got the maids to polish the place! It'll be dirty again! Aigo! I'm so old already! Why do you keep on stressing me out!" Imo suddenly whined, smacking Taehyung's chest, and began to throw a tantrum at him to stop the guards from sweeping the hall. My eyes slowly drifted to imo's fingers as she signaled us to leave...

"I'm-"

"You don't know the pain, do you?! Oh?! I worked all day and night- How can you do this to me?!-" Imo complained as she led Taehyung away from the staff room. Taking a deep breath in relief... I tugged on Jungkook's arm and pulled him out from under the table. We quietly made our way to the back door of the staff's room. And slid out of the hall...

"Where are we supposed to go!?" Jungkook whispered as I pushed myself onto the giant dustbin and pulled myself over the fence.

"Be careful. You don't want to get electrocuted," I mumbled, lowering my head to avoid the security wires. Jungkook stood staring at me with his mouth hanging open.

"Are you coming or not?" I asked, staring at him dumbfoundedly, causing him to snap out of his thoughts. And a second later, we were outside the mansions properly. Jungkook lowered himself onto the ground, then turned to look at me... in disbelief.

"How did you-" I quickly rushed down the streets even before Jungkook could finish his sentence. I'm free. We both ran as far as we could from the mansion... with no particular destination.

3 hours later

It was past midnight when we finally left the arcade. We first went to the movies because that's what Jungkook wanted to do. Then we went to the karaoke room to sing our lungs out, and finally, we went to the arcade to have fun. We decided to live our life the way we wanted just for tonight.

"Hello!" Someone smiled, handing us a few flyers, so I politely accepted it while we strode down the street.

"You didn't answer me yet. How did you find the loophole?" Jungkook asked, sideways looking at me as we fell into the same pace.

"I'm not gonna tell you~" I sang while shaking my head at him.

"Yah. Why are you so mean?" Jungkook cutely pouted and glanced away.

"Just be thankful. Use it well," I smiled and strutted ahead of him.

"Yah... you aren't as pure as you look. I can't imagine how many times you sneaked out without permission," Jungkook scoffed as he eyed me. I began to walk backward while facing him.

"I don't use it often. Don't tell Taehyung about it or-"

"Yah be careful!" Jungkook suddenly reached out to grab my hand just as I bumped into someone.

"Oh! I'm sorry," I quickly turned to the guy.

"Yah! Don't you have any eyes?! How can you walk so carelessly!" Jungkook suddenly snapped at the man. Weirdly... the guy kept his head low. He was wearing a black cap, so I couldn't really see his face.

"Jungkook! It was my fault! I bumped into him because I was walking backward- I'm really sorry," I scolded him before turning to apologize again. The guy reached into the pocket of his hoodie, causing Jungkook to furrow his eyebrows uneasily.

"Sora-" Jungkook was cut off when the guy suddenly swung a dagger at him. Jungkook immediately dragged me away as he twisted the guy's arms and disabled him in a split second... sending the knife flying away.

"Who are you?!" Jungkook gritted roughly twisting the guy, but the guy was quick. He slammed his elbow into Jungkook's face... hurling him onto the ground. The guy charged towards Jungkook and tried to strike him when Jungkook slammed his feet into the guy's leg, making him tumble. Jungkook launched forward, but the guy grabbed onto Jungkook and tackled him onto the jagged ground. However, Jungkook secured his arms around the guy's neck and yanked him forward with all his might.

"ARGHHH!" Jungkook unexpectedly wailed in pain when the guy suddenly pressed onto his lower torso. His injury... how d-did he know about Jungkook's wound?! Jungkook stumbled across the ground and gripped his wound in agony. Sora! Stop being a useless bitch and help him!

The guy quickly scrambled for the dagger, but I kicked him hard on the side of his head. Sending him rolling onto the ground beside Jungkook... seizing the opportunity, Jungkook quickly sat up and rear-choked the guy from behind. The guy tried to thrash around, but I quickly pinned him down... grabbed onto the knife, and aimed it right at his throat. The guy's head was tilted backward as Jungkook headlock him. I almost saw his face when Jungkook lost his energy, causing the guy to break free. He suddenly shoved me onto the ground as I wildly swung the dagger at him... slashing his upper left arm. And surprisingly... instead of fighting back... the guy sped off in a hurry. I fell back onto my butt... panting heavily as I watched him disappear. Whoever it is... it's definitely someone close to us because no one knows about Jungkook's wound except for our household. There's a traitor amongst us.

Fast Forward: Two Days Later

Sora's POV

"Omo! Poor thing!" Imo gasped, kneeling over to look at a bleeding calico cat in the garden. I got off the bench and went up to Imo as she examined it.

"It looks like it was bitten by a dog or maybe a catfight," One of the maids bit her lips sadly beside imo.

"It's still alive! We have to save her!" Imo gasped when the cat suddenly stirred.

"Mam! You shouldn't touch it directly!" The maid warned, stopping imo from stroking the stray cat.

"I'll take care of it," Do Hwan offered, rushing up to the maids... taking off his jacket without hesitation. He carefully knelt down and wrapped the cat with his jacket when my eyes slowly drifted off... to his upper arm. He was wearing a T-shirt... so his arms were exposed... blood drained from my face when I saw it. A deep swollen cut... slashed across his outer biceps. My heart began racing as I slowly averted my eyes back to Do-Hwan... who was cluelessly rescuing the cat.

Flashback: The night before the old rumor spreads

(Before the fight between Taehyung and Sora).

Third Person POV

Bogum angrily slammed his fist against the mart's table and threw the beer can in frustration. He drunkenly got up from the chair and made his way down the empty streets... holding tightly onto the plastic bag. Bogum popped another beer open and took a huge gulp from it as he walked down the slope. Just then... he felt a cold icy droplet on his shoulder... followed by another and before he knew it... the rain poured hard on him. Bogum glanced up at the sky in tears and began to laugh dryly. Just like the sky... his soul is weeping in immense grief. He lost two of his own people because he chose to save an alpha. His uncle always warned him of their savage nature, but he didn't listen. He sent them right to their death. It killed him... to be responsible for his brother's death. It was Bogum who called Taehyung that night. Bogum wailed in resentment and guilt... as he stood beneath the yolky pole light... pouring all the agony out of his chest and weakly strut forward as tears slid down his cheeks... but it was quickly washed away by the icy cold droplets of rain. He rounded the corner of the street and bumped hard into someone... lost his balance and tumbled hard onto the ground... spilling all of his beer... and snacks while the bottles rolled out of his bag.

"I'm sorry," The person apologized, quickly kneeling down to help Bogum pick up the mess on the ground as Bogum tried to regain his consciousness. Bogum wiped away his tears and pushed himself into a sitting position on the soaked ground as the guy in the gray hoodie picked up the bag of snacks.

"It's okay," Bogum sniffled, snatching his almost empty beer can off the ground, then turned to the gray hoodie guy. The rain poured heavier onto him, so he blinked rapidly to shake off the water from blurring his sight. Bogum scrambled onto his knees when he felt his head spinning wildly- so he stumbled to the side and leaned against the fence for support.

"You should've been careful," The guy muttered, turning towards Bogum with a faint smile on his face. His soaked hood... concealing his anonymous identity. Bogum tilted his head at the person in confusion.

"Right... I should be sorry. It's my fault. I'm a bit tipsy," Bogum grumbled, trying to fix his vision as he continued to stare into the deep brown monolid eyes that were staring right back at him from under the dripping wet bangs. Bogum thought hard as he continued to stare at the guy... feeling super uneasy. He knows the person... who is it...?

"P-Park... Jimin..." The name suddenly slipped out of Bogum's lips even before he could process it. Bogum kept on repeating the name over and over again because he couldn't recollect who Park Jimin was... but deep down he knew something felt really wrong. He just couldn't grasp it.

"Park Bogum... I found you," Jimin's lips curved into a crooked smile. Slowly, the alpha crouched down to observe Bogum's bright red face as he sat under the rain... clueless of the danger he was in while being half out of his mind under the influence of alcohol.

Park Jimin found the half-breed's spawn, the one that shouldn't have existed. A bright flash of lightning lit up the sky... illuminating the devil's monstrous sneer... Park Jimin... lowly snarling at the vulnerable prey in front of him. BOOM. Thunder clapped throughout the entire society as the pupils of the alpha's eyes dilated... darkness slowly seeping across his eyes... finally turning pitch black... fully possessed by the carrier of death, bringer of calamity and reaper of serenity.

The hidden heir of the half-breed was finally exposed after 25 years of living in the alpha's shadow.

Worse, discovered by one of the deadliest alphas.

The Chaos Begins.
