Chapter 24 : Upgrades and Rewards

Four whole holes over a metre deep.

I'm afraid it would take quite a bit of effort to refill these holes.

Chris put the matter of the system rewards to one side for now and walked towards the three scavengers.

Monsters exploded treasure chests when they died, I wonder what the scavengers exploded when they died.

Chris walked over.

Between the three scavengers' corpses, a faint white fluorescence emerged, unusually prominent in the slightly dark environment of the evening.

Chris' eyes lit up when he saw it.

Sure enough, something exploded!

Walking to the side of the corpse, he then wanted to reach out to touch the pale white fluorescence.

However, Chris had just reached out his hand, and before he could touch the white fluorescent light, the fluorescent light moved on its own.

As if it was a ghostly flame, it floated towards him.

Chris' face gave a start, and he hurriedly tried to dodge it.

However, the speed of the white fluorescence was very fast, and before he could do anything, the fluorescence drilled into his body with a whoosh.

"Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Survivor System Fragment*1, and obtaining all items from this Survivor Warehouse!"

The system's voice suddenly sounded, and Chris couldn't help but be delighted.

Although he didn't know what a Survivor System Fragment was, he understood the latter.

It meant that he had obtained all the items in the Strongman's System Warehouse!

Chris couldn't wait to open his warehouse and take a look.

Instantly, he was disappointed!

There was just some more stone ore, wood, and 200g of air-dried wolf meat in the warehouse, as well as some other miscellaneous items that had no value.

There wasn't even any water, it was too poor!

Chris shook his head and walked towards Fatty and Slim.

The pale white fluorescence on their bodies also floated towards Chris just like the strong man's.

"Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Survivalist System Fragment*1, and obtaining all items from this Survivalist Warehouse!"

"Congratulations to the host for obtaining the Survivalist System Fragment *1, obtaining all the items in that Survivalist Warehouse!"

There were two more system beeps, and Chris hurriedly opened the system.

Only, this time he didn't hold much hope.

Their boss's warehouse didn't have anything good in it, and these two people's warehouses definitely didn't have anything good either.

Sure enough, as Chris expected, there was nothing good in the warehouse, just a little more stone ore and wood, not even physical objects.

Really poor.

Chris skimmed his mouth, his eyes filled with a look of disgust.

It was saddening to see that the most valuable thing in the hands of these three scavengers were still the weapons in their hands.

After picking up the weapons they had thrown on the ground from the ground and receiving them in the warehouse, Chris turned his head to study the Survivalist System Fragment.

"Name: Survivor System Fragment *3"

"Description: survivor system fragments dropped by other survivors after their deaths, they seem to be very valuable props."

"Usage: strengthening shelters, ????? ,???"

When Chris saw the item of uses, he instantly tensed up.

???? What does it mean, one's authority is not enough?

However, the item of strengthening the shelter was really useful!

His own shelter was already stone, if it was reinforced...

Invincible!

His heart burst with joy, and after closing the system interface and disposing of the three people's bodies, he quickly filled in the soil pit above the shelter.

Filling the soil in and compacting it, Chris returned to the refuge and opened the system interface.

Strengthen the shelter!

He mumbled in his mind to the system.

"Strengthening the refuge requires the consumption of Survivor System Fragments*2, is it strengthened?"

Yes!

After Chris silently recited in his mind, pale white system fragments flew out from his body and merged into the refuge.

The floor of the refuge gradually emitted fluorescence, followed by the walls, and then the ceiling.

In a matter of seconds, all of his refuge emitted dazzling fluorescence.

Chris couldn't help but close his eyes as his eyes flashed hard from the white light.

After a few seconds, when he felt the glare in front of him disappear and reopened his eyes.

He was instantly stunned!

The original shelter was only 10 square feet in size, but now the shelter was exactly half as big!

In the old shelter, placing a wooden bed, a set of table and chairs, the space would obviously be a bit insufficient.

Chris had also complained about the small space, hoping to expand the shelter a bit.

However, the shelter as a whole was strengthened by the system with stones, so there was no way to expand it, so he shelved the idea.

Unexpectedly, using system fragments could actually expand the space of the refuge!

I wonder if it can continue to be strengthened.

Chris reopened the system interface and mumbled Reinforce Shelter in his mind.

"Strengthening the refuge requires the consumption of Survivor System Fragments*4, your Survivor System Fragments are insufficient, please continue to obtain them."

"You currently hold Survivalist System Fragment *1."

The system's voice rang out coldly, and Chris nodded.

It seemed that 3 more Survivor System Fragments needed to be acquired to continue upgrading the shelter, this matter needed to be considered in the long run.

Without closing the system, Chris turned his gaze to the live rewards on the side.

It was time to collect it!

With a movement of Chris' mind, the treasure chest symbolising the live broadcast rewards opened instantly!

The moment the treasure chest was opened, a bright silver-coloured item appeared in front of Chris.

After he looked at it, he couldn't help but widen his eyes as a look of ecstasy appeared on his face!

This ecstasy was even more exciting than if he had just upgraded his refuge!

This was because, this item really blew him away!

"Name: broken generator (ordinary)"

"Description: a generator from a backward era of production, it requires diesel to be consumed as power, and a lot of noise when generating power is its characteristic."

"Efficiency: 80KW (can generate 80 degrees of electricity in one hour)"

"Consumption: 19.7L/H (19.7 litres of diesel per hour)"

"Current generator can be strengthened."

Generator, this was an item that could change Chris' current life!

After having a generator, it meant that Chris had directly leapt from the Stone Age into the Electrical Age!

After having the generator, the first thing was that the monitor could be used.

He could also obtain some materials to create technological products such as electric lamps in the manufacturing list to facilitate the life of a survivalist.

Only, this diesel generator was broken...

He didn't know anything about mechanics himself, so he didn't know if the system could fix it.

When this thought just popped up in Chris's mind, the system's prompt popped up instantly.

"Name: broken generator (ordinary)"

"Enhanceable Branch 1: Function Enhancement: expand the generator's fuel tank capacity, increase the generator's power generation efficiency, reduce the noise when the generator starts up, and reduce the generator's footprint. Consumption of Survival Points: 3000"

"Reinforceable Branch 2: Material Reinforcement: material reinforcement of the broken generator, upgrading its core device, transforming the consumption of diesel fuel into consumption of biomass, increasing the power generation efficiency and reducing the noise to 0. Consumption of Survival Points: 8000"

Chris' heart missed a beat as he looked at the two evolution branches that popped up.

To be honest, he was very heartened when he saw the second enhancement branch.

But the Survival Points he had all over his body only added up to a little over 300 points, and there was no way he could even fulfil the conditions of Evolution Branch 1.

If he really wanted to save up for Strengthening Branch 2, he really didn't know how long he would have to save up for it!

Shaking his head, Chris continued to look downwards.

Underneath the reinforcement of the generator this time, there were some other words.

"Repairable Branch 1: Repair to generator core, generator can work normally. Consumption of Survival Points: 500"

"Repairable Branch 2: Repair to the exterior of the generator, the generator has a new appearance. Consumes Survival Points: 300"

Two repair branches, one corresponding to the inner function and one corresponding to the appearance.

Of course Chris wouldn't choose to repair the exterior, it's just that the Survival Points he had on him couldn't even choose Repair Branch 1.

After making up his mind to save Survival Points, he took out some chicken from the system and shut it down.

Greeting Max to his side, Chris lit a fire and simmered the chicken soup.

While listening to the constant gurgling and bubbling sound from the pot, he scanned the shelter.

Although it had only expanded by ten square feet, the shelter did look quite a bit emptier!

The distance between the wooden tables, wooden chairs and wooden beds had also become larger.

Looks like it's time to add some more furniture inside the shelter!

Chris thought as he stewed the soup and compiled a jumper to wear onto his body at noon.

Right now it had been worn for half a day, and he didn't feel any discomfort.

On the contrary, wearing it on his body insulated and kept him warm, he was a little impatient to make a few more.

Build a wardrobe tomorrow!

Chris, who had made up his mind, looked towards the pot.

All the grease from the chicken had been stewed out and floated to the top.

Chris reached in his chopsticks and gently stirred.

At once, the bones and meat separated.

Cooked!

Chris took the lead in picking up the fat and tender chicken leg and threw it towards Max.

Max hurriedly caught it with his mouth open and was about to swallow it when he suddenly spat it out.

The chicken leg fell to the ground, and Max immediately stuck out his tongue and gasped.

The chicken leg was too hot and it was burned.

Chris surveyed Max and shook his head with a light smile.

Max was indeed a great help on his side, just like today's battle.

If there was no Max to hold back the three scavengers and let the three scavengers get close to him, then I'm afraid the ending would really be hard to say.

I don't know if there are any armours worn by animals among the system.

As his own booster, he didn't want Max to get hurt in the battle.

So, in order to be able to protect Max in battle as well, Chris opened the system interface and looked through it.

After flipping through several pages, he couldn't find it.

Shaking his head, Chris closed the system interface, but just as the system was closed, an idea suddenly popped up in his mind.

If I build a pair of battle armour for Max myself, can I let the system strengthen it?

Just as this thought came out, he was delighted in his heart.

Isn't that how he built his own jumper, including the skylight as well as the ventilation system!

It must be possible!

After this thought rose in his heart, Chris could not help but carry the flustered Max in one go.
