Chapter 30 : A Cold Wave is Coming

With a movement of Chris's mind, 500 Survival Points were instantly deducted.

The broken generator emitted a pale white light from the inside out, wrapping him in it.

The glow was brighter than ever, and he couldn't help but close his eyes.

By the time he opened his eyes again, the dazzling flash had disappeared, and the broken generator looked exactly the same as before it was repaired.

From the outside, it still looked like its shell was covered in rust.

But, looking inward through the broken shell, the generator's insides had been refreshed.

He couldn't help but open the system panel.

"Name: worn-out generator (ordinary)"

"Description: a generator from a backward era of production, it requires diesel to be consumed as power, and a loud noise when generating power is its characteristic, although the exterior looks worn out, its function is still intact."

"Efficiency: 80KW (can generate 80 degrees of electricity in one hour)"

"Consumption: 19.7L/H (19.7 litres of diesel per hour)"

In the system, the broken generator has been renamed to the worn out generator and the introduction has been changed.

This meant that the repair had been successful and the generator was ready for normal use!

A joyful smile appeared on Chris' face.

With this generator, it meant that his shelter had entered the age of electricity, and the black box-like surveillance he had obtained earlier was able to be used.

Now to experiment with the effects!

On a sudden whim, he took the monitor out of the warehouse and placed it on the wooden table, and took out a longer piece of wire from the warehouse.

This wire was the product of someone else's attached gift when he traded.

In the current Mode Survival game, all the shelters were still in the Stone Age, and a piece of wire had no other use at all other than to be used as a clothesline.

Being able to use it as an add-on and exchange it for some spiritual energy water, the person who had traded with Chris couldn't be happier.

Connecting one end of the wire to the monitor and the other end to the generator.

Then he took out 1L of diesel fuel from the warehouse and poured it into the generator's fuel tank.

This should be fine!

With an expectant look on his face, Chris put his hand on the generator's start button and gently pressed it.

The diesel generator started up, and the machine kept shaking and making a loud noise.

The noise was stronger than he expected, especially in an enclosed space like an underground shelter, the noise was even more piercing after reverberating over and over again.

Startled by the sudden noise, Max thought that some kind of catastrophe had occurred and instantly rolled up from the floor, looking around warily.

Chris was also finding it a little hard to bear.

After switching off the generator with a tight frown, he let out a sigh of relief.

That violent to noise just now was like a substantial spiritual attack, and it actually made him feel dizzy and vomit.

It was only after switching it off that there was some relief.

Looking at the diesel generator that had stopped, Chris shook his head.

If the noise of the generator was this loud, it wouldn't be usable at all!

If the generator was placed in the shelter, the noise would be too loud, and people wouldn't be able to stay in the shelter after it started.

But, he couldn't put the generator outside the shelter.

The generator's noise was too loud, so placing it outside the shelter would definitely be taken away in less than a day.

Opening the system's reinforcement interface, the reinforcement branch of the generator popped up again.

"Name: broken generator (normal)"

"Reinforceable Branch 1: Function Reinforcement: expand the generator's fuel tank capacity, increase the generator's power generation efficiency, reduce the noise when the generator starts up, and reduce the generator's footprint. Consumption of Survival Points: 3000"

"Reinforceable Branch 2: Material Reinforcement: material reinforcement of the broken generator, upgrading its core device, transforming diesel consumption to biomass consumption, increasing power generation efficiency and reducing noise to 0. Consumption of Survival Points: 8000"

Either of the strengthening branches could reduce the noise of the generator.

However, the number of Survival Points consumed for these two strengthening branches was simply too much, and it would only take a year to save up to the number that could strengthen the generator.

It was simply not realistic.

Chris frowned in thought and opened the messaging interface, tapping on the chat with Avril.

"I want to build a completely soundproof room in the shelter, is there a way to achieve that?"

A professional matter, ask a professional.

Although Avril was only a small clerk, there was a top designer Jimmy standing behind her.

Ask him, it's definitely right.

Avril's message replied quickly, and Chris saw the other party's status change to In Progress just as he sent it.

"Yes, our boss has designed a completely soundproof room before."

"Sir Chris, do you want to add this inside the demand?"

Seeing Avril's reply, his face was delighted.

The other party was worthy of being one of the world's top designers, and there really was a way to be able to solve his problem.

"Yes, add this condition!"

"Your Excellency Chris, in fact, our boss has been up all night, and your drawings are almost finished."

"It's not too good if we add the condition now ..."

Avril's words dawdled for a long time before being sent over, and Chris grinned when he saw them.

Although Avril's words appeared to be pushing back on the surface, how could Chris not see what she meant.

"Add another 50ml of spiritual energy water!"

"Okay, Sir Chris, it will be handed over to you at noon today on time!"

This time, Avril's reply was a lot swifter, and Chris's message had just been sent over.

Seeing that the matter had been resolved, he received the monitor and generator back into the warehouse.

Opening the system interface, he glanced at the time.

09:59 AM.

Chris stood up from the wooden chair and wanted to go out to conduct a hunt.

But, he had just stood up.

The system's beep sounded.

It wasn't just him, all the survivors in the Survival Game all received the system prompt.

"Congratulations on successfully surviving the novice natural disaster acid rain, you are the best of all the survivalists."

"Survival game novice protection time is over, the game has entered the first stage, the first stage updates will be broadcast next."

"1. New system: Survival Points System: You will be rewarded with Survival Points when performing various activities, please see the other introductions below for the role of Survival Points, and the first wave of Survival Points will be sent according to the current ranking of Survivor Shelters."

"2. Chatting system update: after the update, every time you speak, you need to consume one Survival Point, you can't speak without Survival Points, and open the buddy function: both parties can become buddies by paying 1 Survival Point each. Launch hacking function: pay 2 Survival Points to hack a Survivor."

"3. Trading system update: each time a trade is posted, both parties need to consume an equal amount of Survival Points to complete the trade, and the number of Survival Points is set according to the value of the traded item."

"4. Open Trading Silo: Trading Silo is a neutral system relic, consume 10 Survival Points each time to enter once, in the Trading Silo can not be attacked, you can bring all kinds of resources into the Trading Silo to trade. (Trading objects are limited to Survivors from the same region.)"

"5. The second batch of survivors' descent is complete, the fusion of regions with less than 1,000 people is complete, and the second natural disaster preview is released."

"The second natural disaster will descend in fifteen days, disaster type: cold wave!"

"Introduction: this cold wave lasts for three days, during which it is accompanied by additional disasters such as hail, ice, snow, and severe cold, so please prepare in advance."

"In the frozen world, can you be the fire that survives?"

After reading the system's introduction, Chris took the lead and opened the system's chat interface.

On the chat interface, it was able to display the number of survivors in the current region.

The first natural disaster acid rain had taken the lives of more than five hundred survivalists, plus there were other accidental deaths of survivalists.

The number of survivalists displayed on the chat interface should be more than four hundred.

But, Chris clearly saw that the number of survivalists on the interface was 1,000!

He frowned.

Just now, the system had already introduced that areas with less than 1,000 people would have two means to replenish to 1,000.

One means was to descend newcomer survivalists, and the other means was to have two old regions merge into a new region, so that the number of people could also be replenished to one thousand.

I just don't know how many of the thousand people in my region are new Survivors, and how many are old Survivors who have merged with other regions.

If they were all the former, it would be fine.

If it was the latter, it was definitely not a good thing.

Those who were able to survive the first wave of the natural disaster at the very least possessed the means to save their lives, while some of the better developed ones might have already developed all sorts of weapons that far surpassed those of the others.

Suddenly having six hundred more of these fierce men meant that his survival space would be further squeezed and his situation would be even more dangerous!

Shaking his head, Chris looked towards the chat that kept scrolling and refreshing below.

"Frustrated, this dog system requires points for everything, I only have 30 survival points, doesn't this mean that if I send thirty messages, they will all be deducted for me?"

"This system is really nasty, trading even has to let it draw water once, this is simply forcing us to increase the difficulty of survival ah!"

"This blackout function is quite good, I've already blacked out several people, hehehe."

"Why do I only have single digit points, is this system discriminating against me!"

The Survival Game had just been updated, and the chat interface was unusually active, with all sorts of messages brushing by at a rapid pace.

Sometimes, Chris couldn't finish reading a message in time, followed by the next message that brushed away the messages above.

Within so many messages, most of them were still complaining that the Survival Points that the system had sent them were too little, and were simply not enough.

Although there were also people discussing the cold wave that would arrive in fifteen days, the number was not large.

When Chris saw these messages discussing survival points, curiosity arose in his heart.
