Introduction to the End

In a dimly lit room devoid of life, the occasional sound of water drops and the creaking of broken pipes were pronounced. The silence was palpable with darkness taking a huge part of the room as its own. In a corner the vague shadow of a man could be seen, he was lying on the ground with his hands on his bleeding stomach, gasping for air.

"Hah…hah…hah….."

At first, he was breathing forcefully and slowly however this changed as time passed since he started laughing.

"Hahahahhaa so this is it. I am unfortunate hahaha cough cough"

Due to excess overexcitement and talking he coughed out blood. However, that manic smile was on his face as blood gushed down his lips.

This is Charles who had been an accomplished and nationwide medical doctor. He had fought for knowledge all his to the extent of ignoring relationships with the opposite sex. He was a well-known bachelor even at 51 years of age. All his suitors and ladies who wanted quick success or to climb the social ladder were mercilessly ignored. In his opinion, they were a hindrance to his goals. Naturally, his goal was the human body; he was fascinated by the human body to the extent of madness. However, he hit a bottleneck which was time. Yes, time was his weakness and bottleneck as age had already started to catch up with him.

However, as a good citizen who loved his country, he decided to do something for his country before he retired. He successfully made a cure for HIV, not AIDS. However, this was already mind-blowing and extraordinary. Apart from this, he signed up in the military to treat injured soldiers.

At first, all things were going well until he found out this morning that his assistant had sent out assassins to kill him. He scoffed at this but who knew that a day later the military station was first bombed and then attacked by terrorists. It was this time that he knew all was over so he ran away to hide in this room. Upon reaching this place he didn't know that a certain soldier was stealthily following him.

When he was about to shut the door that mysterious soldier bolted and kicked the door which hit his head. This soldier taking the opportunity stabbed him with the knife in his hand however the soldier didn't realize that his target also made preparations for his safety until a pistol was triggered. This way both of them fell on the floor with little life left in them.

"Hahaha, it's good that I'll die. I never felt the warmth of this world in the first place."

This was Charles's last words before he couldn't speak anymore

'It's a shame I can't continue my studies and anime'

Naturally, the only thing that gave Charles happiness was his research and anime alongside novels. He was a classic shut-in, that was accomplished at the same time. Very contradictory however he didn't care. For him, there was nothing to look forward to in this world with no relatives and warmth. With only fame and no power, only an early death awaits you….. This was a verified fact since there'd surely be haters and jealous people around you but he didn't think that it'd be his closest assistant that did this.

As they say 'Men are insatiable creatures' they are naturally insatiable because of greed and other things. As for him, he didn't wish to stay in this world any longer, if he were to be reborn he wouldn't even think of coming back to this stinky place. Overall he was just displeased and disappointed by humans.

With the power of the US government how won't they know that their benefactor was in danger, but what did they do? Nothing, this was a tacit understanding and corruption up there, and above all they didn't want an unstable factor that could threaten their power rule. What if one day Charles decided to run for the president of the USA? By then nothing could stop him due to his immense fame and wealth and fan club of course. So they were going to eliminate him since he had no use anymore.

Charles understood this so he was disappointed.

"Sigh…."

With one last sigh, Charles was greeted by intense darkness.

However….

'Nani….I thought I was dead, how can I think? Why can I think? This is a joke right?'

After a long question and answer and an occasional scream, he was finally calm.

'I'm dead, however, I can think clearly in this dark space.'

This was the conclusion that Charles made after a long debate with himself. With nothing to do, he began to replay all the animes and novels he had indulged himself in. It was a refreshing experience and he also found out that he couldn't get tired in this space meaning that there was no need for sleep.

In the dark void, a circular squishy slime-like white object was dangling and vibrating at a very high speed. As if it was very exciting. This was Charles's soul that was excited as it replayed various anime scenes. However unknown to him was that his soul was unconsciously taking the energy of the void in it gradually changing his untarnished white soul to purple and grey.

With the color change, the soul was then accepted into this vast realm readily, like a transition to a higher plane. Conversely, like a dry sponge, this soul absorbed all the energy in the immediate surroundings however in less than a second the surroundings regained the lost energy as if nothing noteworthy had taken place.

This cycle continued until the tiny squishy soul was no longer there; instead, what was there was a massive ball of energy and soul power. If placed on the earth could easily occupy Europe as a continent. The most harrowing thing was that its size was never static; it kept on growing as it stole more energy from the surrounding void.

A year, two years, five years, ten years, thirty years, as time began to slip uncontrollably this massive soul that could already occupy a third of a galaxy could no longer hold on. Naturally, the loneliness of floating in space doing nothing could cause a mental breakdown to anybody. He was no different, it was just that as he became conscious of his surroundings and his ability to take in the energy he'd like to call 'void energy' it managed to soothe his soul like alcohol or a 5-star meal it was kind of addictive.
