CHAPTER 0.1: THE FARM

I went to help my father on the farm. On the way, I met Hans, one of my dear friends. We've been friends since we were seven years old. He always wrote to me when I was still in the capital.

"It's a beautiful day, isn't it, Alexander?"

"Yes, you're right, Hans."

But it will be a tough day too. I need to finish my work on the farm.

Our village is located near the border with the Blue River Republic. Because of our village's location, merchants always passed through. However, in the past two years, relations between the State of Hanover and the Blue River Republic have become tense, leading to a decrease in the number of merchants coming to our village.

Most of the villagers earn money through trade with the merchants. However, due to the decrease in the number of merchants, some families will face a significant problem in providing food.

When I arrived at the farm, I found my father eagerly waiting for me.

"Ah, you've arrived! Let's get started; we must begin our work."

"Alright, Dad, let me get ready before I start working."

I went to get my work uniform.

"Make sure to bring the sickle with you."

The sickle is a sharp tool used for cutting crops like barley.

We have our own wheat farm, so it was necessary to start harvesting at this time because winter crops are harvested in late spring or early summer.
