Chapter 123: The Evaluators' Debate

"The bellboy service was diligent and dedicated,"

"Providing a wheelchair within a minute, processing an individual check-in within three minutes, and proactively escorting guests to their rooms,"

"The elevator is equipped with buttons for disabled guests..."

"Qualified!"

The hip-hop youth with the curly hair sighed as he marked off the checklist, glancing helplessly at his swollen left foot.

In the past, he assessed these criteria by observing other guests. Unexpectedly, this time he experienced it firsthand, transitioning from an evaluator to an actual user.

Although a bit embarrassing, the experience was quite pleasant (*^▽^*). "I wonder how Cao Ran and Xing Yue are doing."

As he pondered, he slowly took out the phone he had protected with his life and dialed a number...

---

"Ring, ring~"

The phone rang.

In a room at the Langai Hotel, Xing Yue was methodically taking clothes out of the suitcase and placing them in the wardrobe.

The soundproofing of the rooms at Langai Hotel was exceptional. Apart from Cao Ran's typing, the room was silent and serene.

When the phone rang suddenly, Xing Yue was startled.

"Hello? Chen Nan, you checked in too?"

"Sprained your ankle? Which room are you in? I'll come and see you!"

"Cao Ran... forget it, Cao Ran is in a writing frenzy right now, ideas are flowing..."

---

Half an hour later,

Xing Yue pushed Chen Nan out of the elevator, and they both headed to the hotel lobby bar, where a bald man was waiting, sipping coffee.

When the bald man saw Chen Nan in a wheelchair, he was initially taken aback, thinking something serious had happened. Upon hearing Chen Nan's awkward explanation, the bald man burst out laughing, making Chen Nan blush deeply.

After he had laughed enough, the bald man curiously asked Xing Yue, "Why are you alone? Where is Cao Ran?"

At the mention of Cao Ran, Xing Yue rolled her eyes, "The great writer is inspired."

"He's been excited since we checked into the hotel, now he's holed up in the room writing and can't be disturbed."

The bald man nodded, wasting no time and getting straight to the point: "What do you think of this hotel?"

Chen Nan answered without hesitation, "Very good, the staff service is excellent."

"Both the facilities and the staff's service are very friendly to disabled guests."

After a pause, Chen Nan added seriously, "From my own experience, even sitting in a wheelchair, I felt very comfortable."

"The hotel showed great human care and empathy. After learning about my sprain, they promptly provided ice packs and pain relief spray."

"They even called to ask if I needed meal delivery."

"In short, my stay was very pleasant."

The bald man nodded and looked at Xing Yue.

Xing Yue, not feeling particularly strong about it, said, "The decor is nice, and the environment seems okay."

"Nothing extraordinary."

Her words left the bald man and Chen Nan speechless.

As a renowned screenwriter, Xing Yue had experienced countless high-end luxury hotels domestically and abroad, given her work with TV drama crews. Ordinary hotels hardly impressed her anymore.

For her to say "nothing extraordinary" was actually quite a high compliment.

Xing Yue seemed to understand what was on their minds. Without further explanation, she casually asked, "Have you noticed how many food delivery riders have come since we sat here?"

The bald man: [_?]

Chen Nan: ⊙(◇)?

They were puzzled as to why Xing Yue would suddenly bring this up.

At that moment, a male guest in slippers walked out to pick up his delivery, then leisurely returned to the hotel and pressed the elevator button.

"What's wrong with food delivery?"

The bald man and Chen Nan were puzzled.

Xing Yue smiled lightly, "The hotel's Chinese restaurant, sunken ship-themed underwater restaurant, and specialty food restaurant all have distinctive decors."

"Logically speaking,"

"With such dining environments, the number of customers should be significant."

"So why is the food delivery rate still high?"

"Let me put it more plainly,"

"Guests who can afford to spend 1880 yuan per night to stay at this hotel, why are they unwilling to dine in the hotel's restaurants?"

"Is it because they can't afford it?"

"I don't think so..."

Her words were like a stone thrown into a calm pond, leaving the bald man and Chen Nan speechless.

Seeing her companions deep in thought, Xing Yue continued,

"Hotel restaurants and bars are often places where travelers experience the lifestyle and social aspects of a city."

"For a five-star hotel,"

"It's not just a place for travelers to rest, sleep, and relax."

"It should also be a place that meets the spiritual and cultural needs of travelers."

"An esteemed foreign writer treated the hotel's afternoon tea restaurant near his home as his living room,"

"Spending long hours there meeting all kinds of people or daydreaming alone,"

"Ultimately brewing world-famous literary works."

"Though comparing Langai Hotel to that foreign hotel might seem unfair,"

"It indeed highlights many aspects."

Xing Yue opened her phone, searched Langai Hotel on a local food review app, and said,

"I checked the local food data,"

"The only specialty in this hotel is a bowl of coconut milk fruit ice cream."

"No main dishes or side dishes have made it to the list,"

"Even the noodles are mediocre and rated average."

"So from this perspective,"

"I think this hotel is only 'okay.'"

After finishing, Xing Yue placed her phone on the table. The bald man and Chen Nan looked over,

Seeing the screen displaying:

"Coconut milk fruit ice cream, top dessert in Huanghai Road area."

Xing Yue smiled and asked, "Is it appropriate for a grand hotel to have only one dessert as its claim to fame?"

Her words left the bald man and Chen Nan speechless.

Xing Yue's analysis was logical and well-founded.

However, it seemed unfair to downgrade a hotel's overall rating just because its dining options were lacking when all other aspects were excellent.

But ignoring the dining aspect in hotel evaluations also seemed unrealistic.

Despite the hotel's culinary shortcomings, the bald man held a different view regarding the hotel's cultural and spiritual aspects.

"Though the dining options here are... rather ordinary,"

"Have you noticed how clean the street outside the hotel is?"

His question piqued the curiosity of Xing Yue and Chen Nan.

From the moment they checked in, they noticed how exceptionally clean the streets around Langai Hotel were.

Even the trash cans were spotless, unlike other streets.
