Chapter 5

Dracula's POV

"Welcome back, Dracula," Kyle bowed as he entered my office. He had gotten taller in the space of four months. "How was the trip?"

"Tiring," I held my forehead and sighed. "How is the baby?"

"Joy said he was fine."

I nodded and relaxed in my seat. "I need you to do something for me, Kyle."

Kyle stood upright immediately. He knew what followed whenever I used that tone on him.

"What do you need me to do?"

"It's about Enisa's stepfather. I want him dead, but in the most brutal way that a rapist can die."

Kyle gulped. "What would you suggest?"

"Kidnap him, strip him, and tie him to the ground. Get peanut butter or whatever the fuck rats, snakes, and other insects enjoy." I folded my arms as Kyle's eyes widened, already getting a picture of what I meant. "Rub it all on his dick and release the animals. Leave him there for three days and release new insects every day."

"Oh my god," Kyle blurted. "If he's still alive after, do we kill him?"

"Shoot him in the head, but give him a message for me. Tell him that when he gets to hell, he should try not to sexually assault 12-year-old helpless girls." I concluded, and immediately, a knock came on the door.

"Come in," I responded and nodded for Kyle to leave.

A maid came into the room in a rush. "Miss Enisa is gone,"

"What do you mean gone?" I stood up immediately, in shock.

"She escaped the mansion and left me a letter saying she found out you were her mate and couldn't stay anymore,"

"What!" I growled. "Find her now!'' I took my jacket and tried to leave the room, but she stopped me.

"I think it's too late. She dropped the letter this morning and I saw it at night."

I felt something drop in me, not sure what exactly, but I knew it did. 'My mate,' my wolf, Xavier, growled. 'Mine,'

Enisa's POV

"Yes, like you'd know what it means to have a boy crushing on you," Josephine rolled her eyes and pouted her lips at her twin brother, Josh.

"I'm not gay. The guys wish they could be Me," Josh folded his arms and fired back.

I sat at the end of the dining table, observing my two children engage in a lively debate about who was the coolest in school.

But, of course, they were twins. What else did twins do other than bicker?

"No fighting at the dining table!" I gave both of them a gentle glare, and they relaxed back into their seats.

At the age of five, it had been five years since I escaped Dracula's clutches.

Five years ago, my wolf had given up on trying to claim him, and I hadn't heard from her since.

I had moved to New York to start a new life, away from the toxic werewolf world. I didn't want my children to suffer the same hardship I did while growing up there

"It's time for school. The driver, Danny, will drop you both off," I informed, standing up and glancing at my watch.

"But I want you to drop us, Mommy. You promised," Josephine furrowed her brows, and I took a deep breath

"I know I promised, honey. But something urgent came up at the company, and I have to look into it," I tried to explain, and although she acted like everything was fine, I could sense that she needed me.

I had been so consumed with work. Being the CEO of a large fashion company wasn't an easy task.

Hours later, I found myself sitting in my office, reviewing new clothing designs for my company when a knock resounded through the door. He entered.

Jacob, the brother of my rejected mate and the one who helped me escape Dracula.

"To what do I owe the pleasure?" I smiled warmly at him and placed the iPad on my desk.

He rolled his eyes and returned the smile before taking a seat opposite me. "I wanted to check up on you, Enisa."

"Are you sure that's all?" I chuckled lightly, knowing that I was teasing him.

"Oh well, you caught me!" He playfully raised his hands in surrender. "I've missed you."

I let out a sigh. "We've already talked about this, Jacob. I'm honestly not ready for anything right now. I just want to focus on myself and my children."

"Of course, of course. I understand," He replied, smiling and scratching the back of his head slowly. "But all the other alphas want you. They would worship the ground you walk on just to be with you."

"Dam..." I gave him a compassionate look, and he nodded in understanding.

"But who can blame them though? You're hot and incredibly successful."

I couldn't help but smile. He was right. There was an alpha headquarters in New York where decisions were made, led by a Lycan. All the alphas there were interested in me in some way or the other.

I had no idea what made me so special that they all wanted me, but who was I to refuse the attention, right?

"There's a huge problem, Miss," My personal assistant burst into the room, her voice filled with panic.

I raised an eyebrow at her, and she gasped when she noticed my visitor. She sent me an apologetic look.

"It's fine, Sally. What's the problem?"

"Everything had been taken. Our systems were hacked, and all the fashion ideas we planned to release next month have been copied," She blurted out in one breath, and I could feel my temperature rise.

"Oh my god, who could have done such a thing?!" Jacob gasped in shock.

"You know what this means, right?" I turned to my assistant, and she gulped, her eyes filled with fear.

"We're going to go bankrupt," She replied, her voice on the verge of breaking down.

Hours passed, and I paced around the office restlessly. I had no idea what to do. Jacob and Sally had already left. Jacob said he would try to find help from the other alphas and get back to me.

My phone rang, and my body jerked in expectation. It was Jacob.

"Did you find anything?" I said hurriedly as I picked up the call.

He let out a sigh. "None of the alphas have enough resources to help."

"Oh my god. What do I do now?" I sank back into the chair. My company had never faced a crisis like this in its four-year history. Why was it happening now?

"But there's one thing. The Golden Complex company said they have an offer for you, but under one condition," He concluded, my eyes widened.

"Why would the Golden Complex want to help? What could I possibly offer them?" I could hear the surprise in my voice. The golden complex was the largest company in the world, with branches worldwide. Other companies looked up to them for inspiration.

"They didn't say why exactly they wanted to help, but they did mention that they would be q meeting at the black cafe shop tomorrow morning to discuss the terms if you're interested," He explained,  and I let out a low growl before ending the call.

I still couldn't fully trust the golden complex. Why would the biggest company in New York want to help a small company like mine?

I guess there's only one way to find out.

***

It was 9:00 in the morning when I arrived at the cafe. My driver had dropped Mr off, and bodyguards accompanied me to the entrance. They positioned themselves at the main door, indicating that the person I came to meet was also present, as there were other guards outside.

I walked toward the only occupied seat in the cafe. The entire place was empty, which was unusual. On a normal day, one would have to arrive early to secure a seat.

The man had his back turned to me, but I could see him lift his cup to his lips.

Before I could approach him, my phone beeped. It was Jacob, sending a message.

<>

I gulped hard as I read the message, but I straightened myself. I needed to appear confident when facing them.

I walked over to the empty seat in front of the man and sat down.

"Hello, I'm Enisa from Enco Fashion Company," I smiled and extended my hand towards him, my heart pounding in my chest he finally looked up at me, and in that moment, it felt like time stood still my entire being came to a halt.

"Hello, Enisa," He said, his voice laced with a devilish smirk that I remembered all too well from five years ago.

"Ai...Dracula " I uttered, barely recognizing my own voice.

"Mate," Sky, my wolf, breathed out. Her voice filled with a mix of surprise and awakening as if she had just woken up from the dead.
