Chapter:-67 Transmission is broken

Calvin looked at him and shook his head. Not even as well as Olivia. I'd only hold him up.

Is that so? Keith smiled noncommittally. He looked at the pale Sienna beside him and

said, You can go home. He quickly got into the driver's seat and said, I'll drive.

You'll drive? They were all slightly stunned. Calvin scoffed and said, You don't even have

a license. You'll get us all killed.

Olivia frowned and scolded him. Keith, don't mess around. Get out of the way.

Old Mr. Strauss sighed and said, Keith, I know what you think. But this isn't a joke. You

can go.

This has nothing to do with you. Keith said with a faint smile. I'm still part of the police

force.

Since I'm here, this matter involves me. When the others heard this, they didn't know

how to respond. And they remembered that Keith was the hero who had disarmed three

serial bank robbers by himself.

They saw that his expression was calm and a smile was still hanging out in the corner of

his mouth. His confidence made them feel reassured. Old Mr. Strauss was silent for a

while, then nodded and said, Okay, I trust you.

Everyone in the car. He was the first to sit in the passenger seat. Olivia saw this and

didn't say anything else.

She got into the car as well. Keith saw that Calvin was hesitating. He said in surprise,

you're not coming.

Calvin said seriously. The old man often says not to put all your eggs in one basket. I'll

drive my car and follow you.

Old Mr. Strauss nodded and said, Don't get too close. Keith, there's no time to lose. Let's

go.

The corner of Keith's mouth curled up. A notification from the system sounded in his

mind. Vehicle virtuosity activated.

He took the steering wheel with one hand and revved the engine loudly. After a second,

the van sped off like a sports car. In less than 10 seconds, the van was at full speed.

The old man sucked in a cold breath and his eyes widened in disbelief. He'd seen his fair

share of expert drivers, but none of them could handle a van like this. In the back, Olivia

was also surprised by Keith's driving skills.

The van sped down the crowded road at a breakneck speed. It was amazing. The people

on the sidewalk stopped to watch in shock.

Is that a getaway van? It looks like it's flying. Hey, is that Lewis Hamilton driving? The

pedestrians exclaimed one after another. The traffic officer was similarly flabbergasted.

She'd seen many illegal acts in her time, but this was the first time she'd seen someone

weaving in and out of the traffic so fast in a van. Inside the vehicle, Olivia's jaw dropped

open in disbelief. She needed to fire the guy who was investigating Keith's background.

He didn't have a driver's license. With his skills, he could get a racing license. The old

man's eyes widened too.

He stared fixedly at Keith as if he'd already forgotten that his daughter-in-law had been

kidnapped. He'd lived for so long, but he'd never seen anyone drive like this. You've

satisfied Mr. Strauss's wish to appreciate the art of driving.

Wish value plus one. Current progress, four of ten. Although Keith had earned another

wish value, he smiled bitterly.

When the old man saw this, he asked curiously, Keith, what's wrong? Keith sighed and

said, the brakes are broken. What? The old man and Olivia were even more shocked.

They were going at 110 miles per hour.

If the brakes were broken, it meant they could die at any second. Olivia's face turned

pale. The old man had been through a lot and he frowned and asked, could it be that the

kidnappers did something to the van? Keith nodded in silence.

Olivia took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down. She asked in a low voice,

Keith, is there any way to make the van stop? Stop? Keith smiled and said, won't all our

efforts be in vain if we stop now? Sit tight. As he spoke, he hit the gas to the floor.

The van's engine produced a violent roar and it shot forward at an even faster speed

than before. With its broken brakes, the van sped away. Olivia didn't dare to look

anymore.

She closed her eyes and entrusted her life to the man in the driver's seat. Old Mr.

Strauss, on the other hand, looked on in shock. In the face of such a soul-stirring

moment, Keith was smiling.

There was a faint confidence in his eyes, his expression didn't change at all. What kind of

person was he? Five minutes later, the van was out of the city center. The number of

cars on the road decreased and Keith could clearly see the Mercedes not far ahead, but

he couldn't see Calvin's car in the rearview mirror.

After frowning slightly, he seemed to think of something and a sneer appeared at the

corner of his mouth. Feeling that the car was no longer speeding out of control, Olivia

instinctively opened her eyes. After seeing the scene in front of her, she let out a slight

sigh of relief.

Old Mr. Strauss also exhaled heavily. Keith, you're catching up to the car in front. You

should change gears and think of a way to slow us down.

Keith smiled bitterly and said, the transmission's broken too. It's nothing more than

decoration. Olivia stared at Keith and asked, do you have any way to slow down? If you

get us there in one piece, I promise I'll go on a date with you after.

A date? Keith turned to look at her. He smiled faintly. Mr. Strauss, I thought you wanted

a divorce.

Don't worry, I don't plan to make you suffer. Olivia's face turned pale and then she

blushed. She hadn't liked Keith before, but she knew that if it wasn't for him, if it was her

or her grandfather driving this car, they would have crashed long ago.

Along the way, she'd witnessed Keith's abilities. Right now, the only thing she could rely

on was this young man. Olivia wasn't an idiot.

On the contrary, she was very smart.
