Chapter 33: Sold!!!

A large armor stand was being moved towards the center of the stage. On the armor stand rested majestic looking full body armor.

The armor stand also came with a feature to be able to hold a sword. From a single glance, Myles knew that this might be the item that he was looking for.

"This is the item that I am here for" Myles thought to himself, his voice carrying seriousness.

As the armor stand neared the center of the stage, the announcer began his speech.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am sure that the full body armor and the sword that you see has gotten the attention of a lot of swordsmen!!

I know that swordsmen at the outer edges tend to lack proper equipment because of its rarity and its quality.

Hence, I am pleased to present before you an armor and sword that has been created at the core part of the kingdom!!" The announcer declared his voice carrying, his voice echoing throughout the battlefield.

Upon hearing his words, especially the last lines of words. A lot of people became immensely excited!

Even those who weren't swordsmen themselves look quite interested. Though, Myles looked there was a catch.

Afterall, an item from the core part of the kingdom was very valuable. So, shouldn't it be sold at higher tier auctions?

"There must be a catch," Myles thought to himself.

The announcer said something that cleared their doubts away but at the same time lowered the interest of a lot of people!!

"Although, it's true that this piece of armor and sword is only made in the core part of the kingdom.

This piece of armor is a second hand that was sold to us by the merchandise from the inner part of the kingdom. It was used by a brave warrior who used to protect the borders of the kingdom from beasts.

The constants fighting with the beast caused the armor and sword to be significantly damaged. However, we have managed to repair them by using some substitute materials.

The armor and sword still retains 75 percent of its peak performance. Which is still very overpowered, especially in the outer edges!!" The announcer declared with less excitement.

Upon hearing this, the excitement of a lot of people decreased significantly well apart from Myles.

"As expected, the armor is still good enough for me" Myles thought to himself.

Even though it had a lot of shortcomings. He needed some good equipment directly, especially since he is about to embark on a dangerous mission.

"Although second hand, the armor still provides you with a lot of defense, even the sharpest swords of your kingdom won't even be easily able to penetrate its defense.

As for the sword, it can easily slice the strongest materials available at our kingdom in half." The announcer declared this as his gaze swept through the entire crowd of people.

"Due to it being second hand and many possible shortcomings. The starting bid is only 1000 universal coins. Place your bids now!! Don't miss the lifetime opportunity due to possible doubts." The announcer declared his voice carrying seriousness.

Upon hearing this, a bidding war between nearly a dozen people started.

"1100 universal coins!" A person shouted.

"2000 universal coins" Another person shouted without giving the announcer time to speak.

As for Myles he was seated quietly and patiently watched the bidding war rage on.

"I will place my bids only when serious bidders remain" Myles thought to himself, his voice carrying seriousness.

He decided to wait for the bid to get higher because only then serious bidders will remain. As for those who are just trying their luck, they will quit when the price gets too high.

As expected, the majority of bidders had stepped out a minute or two later. Only 3 serious bidders remained who were still waging war with one another.

Myles knew that the time to enter the bidding fight was very near so he kept a close eye on the remaining bidders and their bids.

"4000 universal coins going once,

4000 universal coins going twice,

….." The announcer got interrupted yet again.

"4500 universal coins!!" One of the bidders placed a bid.

"4500 universal coins going once

4500 universal coins going twice" The announcer exclaimed, as he momentarily paused, sweeping his gaze through the crowd.

"Is there anyone courageous enough to place a higher bid?" The announcer asked.

Upon hearing this bid, Myles swept his gaze through the remaining bidders. None looked courageous enough to place a higher bid. Knowing that it was time for him to enter, he stood up.

"It's time for me to enter," Myles thought to himself.

"5000 universal coins!" Myles exclaimed as he raised his hand.

The moment he said so, everyone 's attention was drawn towards him including the bidders and the announcer.

The young man especially looked at Myles with eyes full of anger.

"Ahah, it seems like that someone still has the courage to place a higher bid. Let's see if he wins or not!!" The announcer declared his voice carrying excitement.

"5000 universal coins going once

5000 universal coins going twice"

"5100 universal coins" The man remarked as he gritted his teeths.

"5500 universal coins!" Myles shouted instantly, not giving the announcer a chance to speak.

"It seems like guest number 207 is very eager to win this bid! Let's who emerges victorious among the two people!!"vThe announcer declared his voice carrying seriousness.

His opponent directed a gaze full of hatred towards him, the moment he put his bids. It almost felt like he wanted to tear him apart!

"5500 universal coins going once!

5500 universal coins going twice! and …

.." The announcer exclaimed, momentarily pausing.

"Is there anyone courageous enough to place a higher bid? Don't miss an offer of a lifetime!!" The announcer shouted while staring at his opponent.

Myles cursed when he saw this. Since the announcer was essentially trying to provoke him to place a higher bid!!

"Damn it, just sell the item to me already" Myles thought to himself.

Myles ignored the hatred he held towards him. He paid more attention towards his attitude and his body language to determine whether he placed a higher bid or not. Sadly, he couldn't find anything.

In such a situation, he could just earnestly pay for the best.

"I hope that he doesn't place a higher bid. I still need some money to buy some potions" Myles thought to himself, hoping for the best.

His eyes were fixated on the man. Although, he looked at Myles with eyes full of hatred. He didn't seem to want to place higher.

It was something that even the announcer understood.

"A pity" The announcer remarked before marking the end of the bidding battle.

"And Sold!!!!" The announcer shouted shortly afterwards.
