Chapter 70: To Die For

West Hollywood, The Viper Room Bar, Arthur and Nicole Kidman sat on the sofa.

"Arthur, isn't that Bruce Willis and his wife?" Suddenly, Nicole Kidman pointed to a couple surrounded by people not far away.

Arthur looked over, "It seems so. His wife Demi Moore is promoting her romance film Ghost, which will be released mid-month. It seems this bar is quite popular with the stars."

No wonder Johnny Depp would own part of this bar in the future!

"Do you know them?"

Nicole Kidman thought for a moment, "Kind of, Bruce Willis and I both starred in Billy Bathgate, but we aren't that close. We didn't really talk back then. After all, I didn't have any scenes with him. If you had been in the movie, you would have played opposite me!"

"I almost forgot he was one of the actors in your movie," Arthur chuckled, feeling a bit unfamiliar with Bruce Willis who still had hair at that time.

"You're currently working on The Silence of the Lambs, right?" Nicole Kidman leaned close to Arthur's ear and whispered, "I read the novel and think I could play the lead role!"

"Nicole, don't joke around. Jodie Foster is an Oscar-winning actress and a national icon," Arthur's mouth twitched. "If I cast you, do you think any investors would want to fund it?"

Nicole Kidman smiled, "Well, you kissed and touched me in the car earlier. You should consider me for roles in the future, right? Winona Ryder has such a youthful vibe, many roles wouldn't suit her, right?"

Arthur was speechless, "You might return to family life in the future, and you won't lack roles anyway. Besides, Winona is turning 20 soon, she'll grow up too."

Nicole Kidman didn't know if she would marry Tom Cruise in the future, but Arthur knew.

Would the future Mrs. Cruise lack scripts?

"You talk as if it's real," Nicole Kidman took a sip of her drink, "No woman wants to be just a pretty face forever. I really like your Sleeping with the Enemy script!"

Arthur looked at Nicole Kidman and touched her face.

"What are you doing?" Nicole Kidman noticed Arthur examining her face closely.

"In the future, keep straight hair. Current female stars love curly hair, which doesn't look good on you. Big waves could work," Arthur said as he smoothed Nicole's hair. "You're the type of icy beauty that would suit strong, independent female lead roles or major plot-driven female lead types!"

Nicole Kidman was stunned, "Who wouldn't want such lead roles? I think Sleeping with the Enemy is perfect for me. Unfortunately, I auditioned for Ghost last year but didn't get it."

Arthur shook his head, "Relax. Ghost rejected you mainly because you're a newcomer without a name. Getting an audition itself was a success. At least Demi Moore is Bruce Willis's wife, that's a selling point!"

The 1988 movie Die Hard significantly increased Bruce Willis's fame. There's no denying it.

"Do you have any scripts similar to Sleeping with the Enemy?" Nicole Kidman sighed.

"In Billy Bathgate, I played a mistress who had to show her body, really just a pretty trophy."

"Finding a script isn't like shopping; you don't get it just because you want it," Arthur shook his head. "Besides, for new actresses, many debut roles require showing skin!"

"Fine, let me think," Arthur pressed his fingers to his forehead. There were quite a few roles suited for Nicole Kidman, but could she handle them at this point?

"Arthur, are you really that good?" Nicole Kidman was startled by Arthur's quick inspiration.

"Got it," Arthur leaned back on the sofa, touching his face.

Nicole Kidman immediately snuggled up to Arthur and kissed him, "Tell me!"

Arthur nodded, "Sexy and beautiful Susan marries into a traditional Italian wealthy family after graduating from college. After a few years of marriage, unable to bear the dull life, she decides to pursue her dream of becoming a TV host but faces opposition from her conservative family. With persistence, she secures a job as a weather anchor at a TV station.

Susan is ambitious, cold, alluring, and driven. She only wants to climb higher but finds her family to be the biggest obstacle. After a youth talk show at a school, she meets a troubled student named Jack. Jack quickly falls for the sultry Susan.

Driven by ambition, Susan decides to eliminate her career obstacle, using Jack's love for her to persuade him to kill her husband..."

Nicole Kidman nodded, "What kind of person is Susan?"

Arthur thought for a moment, "Susan is a fascinating, glamorous, and mesmerizing weather anchor. She can be icy in one moment and fiery in the next."

"A combination of cold and hot that makes her unpredictable! She's a woman who falls into madness and will stop at nothing to become the top anchor at the station."

"How about it, Nicole?" Arthur patted the woman in his arms, "A femme fatale character, this script would be called To Die For!"

This would be Nicole Kidman's first award-winning role in the future, winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress, in a low-budget art film.

Nicole Kidman leaned closer to Arthur, "When can you write this script? When can you start developing this project?"

"Me, developing this project now?" Arthur patted Nicole Kidman's shoulder, "You're expecting too much from me!"

"It's getting late. Let's go back."

"Yeah," Nicole Kidman knew it was too much to ask Arthur to develop a film now, "Then, keep the script."

"Don't worry, it won't take long. Since I said it's a gift for you, it will be..." Arthur said as he and Nicole Kidman left the Viper Room.
