Tiwa Arrived Germany

Tiwa's journey to Germany began with a warm welcome from the university representative, Markus, who greeted her at the airport with a big smile and a friendly handshake.

"Welcome to Germany, Tiwa! How was your flight?" Markus asked, his German accent adding a touch of charm.

Tiwa, relieved to hear someone speaking English, replied, "It was good, thank you! I'm really excited to be here."

Markus chuckled. "I can tell! Let's get you settled in and then we can explore the city."

They embarked on a tour of Germany, from the bustling streets of Berlin to the picturesque landscapes of Bavaria. Markus shared stories about German culture and history along the way, making Tiwa even more eager to explore.

"Germany is amazing," Tiwa exclaimed as they walked along the banks of the Rhine River in Cologne.

Markus nodded enthusiastically. "Wait till you see the university. It's renowned for its science programs."

Upon arriving at the university campus, Tiwa was greeted warmly by the faculty and staff. Professor Müller, the head of the science department, personally welcomed her.

"Willkommen, Tiwa! We are honored to have you join us from Nigeria," Professor Müller said with genuine warmth.

Tiwa beamed with pride. "Thank you so much, Professor Müller. I'm really looking forward to studying here."

After settling into her on-campus accommodation, Tiwa called her parents, Ade and Simi, back in Nigeria. Tears of joy flowed freely as they exchanged heartfelt words.

"We miss you so much, Tiwa," her mom said, her voice filled with emotion.

Tiwa wiped away tears of her own. "I miss you too, Mom and Dad. But I'm so excited to be here. I'll make you proud."

She also shared videos and photos of Germany and the university with her friends, including Patrick, who always added humor with his Nigerian pidgin English.

"Ah, Tiwa! Germany dey sweet you o!" Patrick teased affectionately. "You don turn Einstein for there!"

They laughed together, reminiscing about their shared memories from back home.

On her first day at the university, Tiwa got lost trying to find her lecture hall. Feeling anxious, she bumped into a fellow student named Dapo, who seemed to be heading in the same direction.

"Hey, are you looking for the science lecture hall too?" Dapo asked with a friendly smile.

Tiwa nodded gratefully. "Yes, I am! I'm Tiwa, by the way."

"I'm Dapo. Let's go together. I'm studying medicine here," he replied, offering his assistance.

As they walked, they exchanged stories about their backgrounds. Tiwa learned that Dapo's true passion was music, despite studying medicine to fulfill his parents' wishes.

In the lecture hall, Professor Müller introduced each student and asked them to briefly introduce themselves. Tiwa stood up confidently.

"I'm Tiwa from Nigeria, studying neuroscience," she announced.

Professor Müller nodded approvingly. "Welcome, Tiwa. We're thrilled to have you join us."

During the lecture, Professor Müller posed a question about the costs of brain surgery. Tiwa eagerly raised her hand and answered.

"Well done, Tiwa!" Professor Müller praised her, impressed by her knowledge.

However, not everyone shared Professor Müller's admiration. A jealous student named Carla, who had been eyeing Tiwa with envy, whispered to her friends during the break.

"I can't stand how she's showing off," Carla muttered.

Tiwa overheard but remained composed. Dapo noticed the tension and stepped in to defend her.

"Leave her alone," Dapo said firmly, standing up for Tiwa.

After the lectures, Carla and her friends confronted Tiwa outside the hall, criticizing her and making snide remarks. Tiwa remained calm, grateful for Dapo's support.

"Tiwa belongs here just like anyone else," Dapo defended her.

Later that evening, Dapo walked Tiwa back to her accommodation. Along the way, Tiwa asked about Dapo's Nigerian roots.

"Your name sounds Yoruba. Are you from Lagos?" Tiwa inquired curiously.

Dapo chuckled. "I'm actually from Ogun State, but I've lived in Lagos most of my life."

Tiwa smiled, feeling a sense of connection despite being far from home herself. "I'm from Zawan, a village near Jos."

Their bond grew stronger as they shared stories about their hometowns and dreams for the future.

Tiwa called her parents that night and excitedly told them about meeting Dapo, thanking them for their support and guidance. Her father reminded her sternly to stay focused on her studies.

"Don't let anyone distract you, Tiwa. Remember your dreams," her father advised, his voice filled with paternal concern.

Tiwa assured him, "I won't, Dad. I promise."

She also shared the news with Patrick and Vou on WhatsApp, who teased her about meeting a Nigerian companion in Germany.

"Tiwa don finally find Einstein for Germany!" Patrick joked, making Tiwa laugh.

In the following days, Tiwa continued to impress Professor Müller and her peers with her intelligence and dedication. Despite attention from other male students, Tiwa remained focused on her studies.

At the end of their first semester, Tiwa excelled in her examinations, earning commendation from the university authorities for her academic achievements.

As the semester progressed, Dapo found himself drawn more and more to music. He spent hours in the studio, creating afrobeat tracks inspired by his experiences in Germany and his growing admiration for Tiwa.

"Keep pushing, Dapo. Your music is powerful," his producer encouraged him during one of their late-night studio sessions.

Dapo's songs began gaining popularity in Germany, and soon enough, even back home in Nigeria. People vibed to his beats, and he started performing at local shows across Germany.

Tiwa was supportive but focused on her studies, often declining Dapo's invitations to his shows.

"You should come to one of my shows, Tiwa. You inspire me," Dapo insisted one day, his eyes sincere.

Tiwa hesitated but eventually agreed to accompany him to a show. On stage, Dapo dedicated a song to her, capturing the audience with his heartfelt lyrics that mixed Nigerian pidgin with romantic melodies.

"Tiwa, you inspire every beat of my heart," Dapo sang passionately.

Tiwa felt her heart skip a beat as she listened, realizing her feelings for Dapo were deeper than she had acknowledged. After the show, they shared a quiet moment backstage.

"I didn't know you felt this way," Tiwa admitted softly.

Dapo smiled, his eyes full of warmth. "You inspire everything I do, Tiwa."
