The last priestess

Ditun growled, looking away from Maximum. It was one thing he too was worried about. All these years he had feared nothing, no human, and had carefully covered his face, but now, he was scared of his wife and her power over him. He also hated that he felt weak in the knee when it came to her. "She would never know," he murmured.

"Ahh, the downfall of any demon is surely a human, did you forget?" Maximum scowled, still not believing that Ditun was keen on keeping his human and trusting her. "Do not be a fool to care for one. Those creatures will resent you at the slightest and use your weakness against you. Remember," he warned with caution, ignoring the frown on Ditun's face, "..that humans are the least united creatures. So many hate amongst them."

Ditun shook his head, thinking of Dalia. Dalia was not like that. The fact that he was defending her surprised him. Damn, he covered his face with his palm. "I am left with no choice; she is already my wife."
