Chapter 17

Allyson's POV

Allyson stood before the mirror, meticulously applying her makeup. The red gown she had chosen for today accentuated every curve, making her look like a goddess of fire.

She needed to look her best for this final showdown. It wasn't about Nate anymore; it was about reclaiming her dignity.

She took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. This was it—the moment she would sign away her marriage and the man she once loved. With one final glance in the mirror, she grabbed her bag and walked out of the room, she was ready for anything.

Nate's POV

Nate sat at the dining table, his lawyer on one side and Rachel on the other, fidgeting with his collar. He felt a pang of guilt as he thought about what was about to happen. Allyson's betrayal still stung, but a part of him wondered if he was making a mistake. The sound of heels clicking against the floor pulled him from his thoughts.

When Allyson entered the room, Nate's breath caught in his throat. She looked stunning in the red gown, her beauty radiating confidence and power. For a moment, he forgot why they were there.

"Let's get this over with," Allyson said, her voice steady as she took the pen from the table. She signed the divorce papers with a flourish, then tossed the pen at Nate.

"I guess you're really happy now," she said with a bitter smile, her eyes locking onto his. Nate's face remained expressionless, but inside, he felt a turmoil of emotions. He loved her, but he was tired of the constant back and forth.

Kelvin, standing in the corner, looked like he was about to explode but held his composure, especially with Rachel's smug expression as she tugged at Nate's shirt.

Allyson put on her Gucci sunglasses, picked up her bag, and walked to the door. Before stepping out, she turned back one last time. "My assistant will be back for my things," she said softly. Then, with a regal grace, she walked out of the apartment.

Nate's POV

Nate watched her through the window, unable to tear his eyes away. As Allyson approached a Black Range Rover, a bodyguard bowed and opened the door for her. A motorcade of sleek cars followed her vehicle as it pulled away.

"Who the hell does she think she is?" Nate muttered under his breath. "So her new man is trying to intimidate me, or what?"

Rachel's POV

Rachel watched the entire scene unfold with a mixture of satisfaction and jealousy. Allyson's confidence and elegance were hard to ignore, but Rachel refused to let it get to her. She had Nate now, and that was all that mattered.

"Let's celebrate," Rachel said, wrapping her arms around Nate's neck. But Nate's mind was elsewhere, still reeling from the revelation.

Kelvin's POV

Kelvin clenched his fists, watching Allyson leave with an aching heart. He had always admired her strength and grace, but seeing her walk away like this was almost too much to bear. He wanted to tell her everything would be okay, but he knew she didn't need his comfort. She was stronger than anyone he knew.

As the door closed behind Allyson, Kelvin vowed to support her in any way he could. She deserved better than this mess.

Allyson's POV

As the motorcade drove through the city, Allyson allowed herself to finally breathe. The weight of the divorce papers seemed to lift from her shoulders. She knew this was just the beginning of a new chapter in her life. A chapter where she would rise above the pettiness and drama that had plagued her marriage.

Her phone buzzed with a message from her uncle, reminding her of an important meeting with the board. Allyson straightened her back, her resolve hardening. She would prove to everyone, including Nate, that she was not to be underestimated.

Nate's POV

Nate stared at the empty driveway long after the motorcade had disappeared. Doubts and questions swirled in his mind. Had he really known Allyson at all? And what did her future hold without him? He shook his head, trying to dismiss the thoughts, but they lingered like a shadow.

He turned to see Rachel smiling at him, but it felt hollow. For the first time, he wondered if he had made a terrible mistake.

Allyson's POV

In the back seat of the Range Rover, Allyson closed her eyes and allowed herself a moment of vulnerability. Tears streamed down her face, but she wiped them away quickly. She couldn't afford to be weak, not now.

As the car approached the headquarters of Spark Empire, Allyson steeled herself for the challenges ahead. She would reclaim her life and her legacy, no matter what it took.

"Ready, ma'am?" her driver asked.

"Yes," Allyson replied, stepping out of the car with forced smile. "I'm ready."
