Chapter 171: Justice's Backstab

"Mr. Stark, let me help you!" Gwen shouted, joining the battle with a standard Spider-Man somersault.

The steel armor was about to be dismantled, and when Tony saw Gwen joining in, he was stunned for a moment. "Wait a minute, Gwen, what's going on with your new clothes?"

"Her name is Phantom. Uh... I'll talk about the new clothes later," Gwen prioritized, while giving Carnage a look. She said, "The monster in front of me is called Carnage. It's an alien symbiote that parasitizes other people!"

Carnage noticed Gwen and wasn't angry. Instead, he was overjoyed and said, "Phantom, I didn't expect you to come to me yourself." He immediately changed his target and came toward Gwen.

Even though she was wearing the Phantom suit, Gwen was still no match for Carnage and was completely suppressed. She felt that the strength and speed enhancements given by Phantom were not as significant as those of Carnage. Confused, she asked, "Miss Phantom, is the host of Carnage very powerful? There is still a big gap between us."

Phantom paused for a moment and then said with some embarrassment, "The host of Carnage is just an ordinary person. Carnage's current combat power is the most powerful among us, and my ability is not in that area."

Gwen didn't dwell on it, avoiding Carnage's attacks and cooperating with Stark's steel armor to fight two against one. Even so, they were still at a disadvantage. "It's a pity I didn't bring my spider silk with me," she lamented.

"Spider silk?" Phantom was surprised. "Is it this?" Gwen soon discovered that her wrists could actually shoot out "spider silk." Although it was not real spider silk, just simulated by Phantom using her own body, it was enough.

This increased her flexibility by several levels. She used the spider silk to avoid Carnage's attacks and to pull his body. Seizing the opportunity, Gwen stuck two threads of spider silk to Carnage's legs and pulled hard, causing him to stumble. With the return of her spider silk, she gradually regained her previous fighting rhythm.

The steel armor took the opportunity to fire two more light cannons at Carnage's head. Unfortunately, it didn't break the defense well, and the wound quickly repaired. "Damn it, can't you kill this thing?" Tony couldn't help complaining.

"Is there anything you can do, Miss Phantom?" Gwen asked.

"Fire," Phantom said frankly. "The weaknesses of our symbiotes are sound waves and fire, but Carnage has evolved to a very high level and is completely immune to sound waves. Fire may still be of some use, but ordinary flames won't be very effective."

Gwen quickly relayed the information to Tony. Many plans suddenly appeared in Tony's mind, but the current conditions made them almost impossible to achieve. "This troublesome guy suddenly appeared. Just hold on and wait for reinforcements."

"No problem!" Gwen responded. As she became familiar with the rhythm and skills, she gradually became the main force against Carnage, while the steel armor supported from the side.

"Annoying bugs!" Carnage became impatient with Gwen's agility. If he were dealing with one person alone, he would defeat them quickly. But with Gwen and the steel armor working together, they were giving him trouble. Gwen's familiar fighting style reminded him of an old enemy.

Phantom sighed, "The way you are fighting now is just like Spider-Man."

Gwen replied casually, "I am Spider-Man. No, Spider-Woman, Miss Phantom."

Her webbing stuck to Carnage, and after giving him a kick, she flew around him, causing his center of gravity to become unbalanced. At this moment, Phantom suddenly said, "Isn't Spider-Man Peter Parker?"

Hearing this name, Gwen was stunned and paused in the air. Carnage seized the opportunity, pulled Gwen back with her own spider silk, and slammed her to the ground hard. She bounced up and rolled twice.

"S—" Gwen gasped. The heavy attack dazed her, but her attention was occupied by another name. "What did you just say?"

Phantom, anxious, said, "What's wrong! I just said Peter Parker. Is there a problem?"

"No." Gwen opened her mouth, unsure where to start. The situation was critical, and it wasn't the time to talk about it. The main reason was that she was distracted by the information.

The steel armor also shouted, "Gwen, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I'm sorry." Gwen replied, trying to regain her strength and get up. But it seemed too late. With only the steel armor left, they were at a severe disadvantage. Carnage grabbed the head of the steel armor, turned his other hand into a battle axe, and split the armor in half, throwing the head aside.

"Mr. Stark!" Gwen exclaimed, feeling dreadful. In front of her, Stark was suddenly sent flying, and there wasn't even a whole body...

"Gwen, support is here!" Tony's voice came. Gwen quickly looked towards the source and saw a steel helmet with only one head left.

"With only the head left, can you still be alive, Mr. Stark?" Gwen asked in surprise.

Tony's helmeted eyes flashed, "I'm almost there." As soon as he finished speaking, several steel armors rushed in from the window. The first black-painted armor bore the brunt of the attack and rushed toward Carnage. Raising his battle axe, Carnage hit the armor, but it raised its hands and merged its shield arms into a huge heavy shield, withstanding the blow.

The other two armors landed on either side of Carnage, binding his hands. Finally, Tony's iconic red armor fell behind Carnage, with light veins representing charging lit up. A thick energy ray shot out from its chest and hit Carnage hard on the waist.

This stab in the back finally made Carnage scream in pain for the first time. "Ahhhh——"
