Late Night Conversations

The Count came awake fast as somebody shoved a clothe into his mouth. He struggled pointless because his wrists and legs were tied to his king size bed posts. He couldn't move or rise or cast a spell out from his lips.

The Count's eyes started to glow with a rage magical power as he glared at Ava Nightingale before a man clubbed him in the face. The Count couldn't focus his mind on casting a spell now and though he could focus his gaze on Ava looked down at him. She stared at him like he was a bug in a jar without any emotion. The Count's heart started hammering against his chest.

Ava nodded her head almost hearing his thoughts. "It's over. It took some digging and bribing but I found out everything. You lost the bet you had with your friends. I can understand your petty jealousy against my husband but I did wonder why did you involve my son?" She said calmly.

The Count stared at her in alarm. Ava studied him without any emotion. "I can't understand it. Did you really think I wouldn't find out what you were attempting to do. You worshipers of Riddle. Angus was correct. You are all complete losers. I should have gotten rid of you the moment you proposed to me. I knew what you were doing. I wanted to use you as well but I didn't realize how vile you truly are." She said.

The Count started struggling again and his eyes started glowing with power. The man with the club bashed the Count's face again stopping his struggles. The Count stared at Ava as he started to cry.

Ava stared at him without pity or remorse. "Luckily my husband's honor and name saved my son. My son is seventeen years old. He doesn't have an ounce of evil in him. Their coming to take you away to Azkaban. No. No. Don't worry no Dementors for you. The new guard have let go of using the Dementors especially in your case. They'll give you a slap on the wrist. You'll spend maybe a day in the hole then they have somebody else to confess the crime for you and you'll be out where you'll stay in Europe forever."

The Count stared at her and then laughed at her. Ava stared at him impassively. "You'll never go near my son again. You'll never breath his ear. You will never do it because the day you and your clowns think to touch my son again for your little plans then you will disappear. No one will find you. You'll just disappear. It's a little spell I put on your skin. You made me do this. My son is watching this moment now. He's seeing what I have become because of creatures like you that refuse to leave my child alone. One more thing. I talked with Mr. Wells."

The Count went motionless. He stared her as his eyes seemed to grow wide. Ava nodded. "Yes. I had to see if I could make peace between Mr. Wells and my husband."

The Count started sweating as Ava paused to stare at him. "I failed of course to convince him but I had to try. You and your people have created a mess too big for anyone as small as me to fix. However, he did ask me for my professional opinion on the stone that had been the cause of all the trouble. He wanted to know the potion ingredients needed to create the potion that would extend his life. It was rather shocking to him when I told him where you got that stone and the purpose you had for it. He had his doubts that I might of course that have told him the truth but when I told him the people involved in the plan and the reason for it being political he came to an understanding about what was really going on."

The Count stared at her. Av smiled. "It would best for you to stay in Europe for the rest of your living days. You tried to use my family to further your political career and eliminate my family in one go. Mr. Wells has made it known anyone that attempts to remove the spell I placed on you will be receive worse treatment then you. Keep your head. Keep your mouth closed and never return to the land of magi because I will be watching. Goodbye Mr. Ross."

The man sent his meaty fist into The Count's face knocking him out as Ava straightened up away from the body.

The man with mask groaned and took off his mask. Ava was quiet to turn away looking to wall and focusing all her attention away from her partner. "What are you doing? No. Wait don't answer that just please put your mask back on."

The elderly laughed. "Do you believe young James is still watching these events from the future?"

Ava grimaced. "I know he is. Please put your mask back on Sir."

"He'll have to find out about me some time. He is of age. He should know the truth." The elderly man said gently.

Ava shook her head. "He has not learned how to guard his thoughts from intrusion. When he has done so then and only then will we tell him about you. That is the deal you made with Angus and I. Please put your mask back on."

The elderly man sighed but the sound of the mask being put on was heard behind Ava. She reached behind herself taking the other man's shoulder and reached for his face and felt his face to feel it was in place. She looked at him.

The masked man was tall muscular man with a dark mask on stared at her. His eyes and mouth were completely covered but he could see her and patted her shoulder. "I'm sorry if I scared you. I just got ahead of myself. I will take you home."

Ava looked away from him patting his shoulder. "He meet you soon. Please be patient Sir. You will see him face to face but only when his mind is strong against mental attacks."

The man nodded not saying anything and gathered her close to him. "I'm sorry. It won't happen again. I will be careful. Can I say one thing though?"

"Please make it short and don't reveal anything about yourself." Ava said carefully.

"You did a good job with James. I'm proud of you." He said carefully.

"Thank you, Sir. But, we had a lot of help though." She said with a smile and then they disappeared.
