Natalie Hughes returned to her seat and sat down, her phone resting on the desk with "I Am MT" displayed prominently on the screen.
A V12 account.
The friends tab was once again lit with red dots, indicating new friend requests. Natalie tapped on it and saw a fresh batch of friend requests. Even though she deleted lower-level friends daily, there was never enough room for new ones.
Natalie tapped the phone screen lightly, lost in thought.
A knock came from the door.
"Come in," Natalie said.
A young man in his twenties entered. He was casually dressed, his hair a bit messy, and he looked somewhat unkempt.
He plopped down on the sofa opposite the desk, unscrewed a bottle of water, and took a drink, completely at ease.
Natalie smiled, "You're here?"
The young man, dissatisfied, put his feet up on the coffee table in front of the sofa. "You called all three of us for a meeting over a mobile game by a C-level designer. Is it really necessary?"
Natalie didn't mind his behavior and smiled, "This person isn't an ordinary C-level designer, and this isn't an ordinary mobile game."
Natalie walked over and handed her phone to the young man. "This game just hit the official app market, and its first-month revenue exceeded 20 million. Given the download volume, next month's revenue will be even higher."
The young man frowned, "20 million?"
Natalie nodded, "Yes, and it's a free-to-play game, making money entirely through in-app purchases."
The young man became slightly interested and took the phone to play the game for a bit.
He frowned throughout, clearly finding "I Am MT's" simple combat system and art style unappealing.
After reviewing the combat system, he focused on the VIP system and rewards, as well as Natalie's account friends list.
He remained silent for a while before saying, "Alright, although your design philosophy seems outdated, I have to admit, your strategic vision is always ahead of the curve. If you think this is worth pursuing, then assign someone to try it out."
Natalie smiled, "You three have been immersed in VR games for so long that you've neglected the mobile game sector."
The young man handed the phone back to Natalie. "Don't expect me to do this dirty work."
Natalie nodded, "I've already assigned it to Ben Quinn. We should see results within two months."
The young man nodded, "Fine."
Natalie asked, "Did you read 'Azeroth Universe' as I suggested?"
The young man nodded, "Yes. I believe Alex Parker has a deeper agenda with 'Azeroth Universe.' After all, it contains more content than the mobile game and anime."
Natalie said, "Good. What did you think?"
The young man shook his head, "Useless, can't copy it. Don't even think about it."
Natalie smiled, "Don't be so quick to dismiss it. Discuss it with the team more. Also, you three will lead this meeting. I won't be attending."
The young man raised an eyebrow, "Why not?"
Natalie laughed, "It's your world now. I'm still good for making final decisions, but my thinking can't keep up with you anymore. If I attend, I might limit your ideas."
The young man stood up, "Got it. Don't worry too much. So-called 'genius designers' appear from time to time. It's nothing to get too worked up about."
Natalie smiled, "Of course."
The young man left Natalie's office and headed to the large conference room on the same floor.
His name was Levi Rodriguez, one of the three S-level designers at Generation Entertainment whom Natalie Hughes trusted most.
The designers at Generation Entertainment, though affiliated with the company, spent most of their time at their own studios or workspaces. They only came to the headquarters for special occasions like work reports or important meetings.
This meeting, initiated by Natalie Hughes, was for the three S-level designers to work with several A-level designers to thoroughly study "I Am MT" and the world hidden beneath the anime and Azeroth Universe.
After all, Generation Entertainment had suffered a setback with this game and needed to learn from it.
Levi entered the conference room. Most people had already arrived.
At the key positions at the table, Levi sat on the left, a man in his thirties sat in the center, and a woman in her late twenties sat on the right.
Luca Watson and Caroline Martinez.
These three S-level designers from Generation Entertainment rarely saw each other, usually only meeting on special occasions like this.
Around the table were over a dozen A-level designers, all sitting upright.
Levi leaned back in his seat, spun halfway around, and habitually put his feet up on the table. "Alright, let's start. Natalie Hughes isn't coming."
Luca Watson sighed, "Not again. That old fox always pushes this stuff onto us."
Caroline Martinez stubbed out her cigarette in the ashtray. "It's not the first time. You discuss it; I won't participate."
Luca Watson looked at Levi playing on his phone and Caroline Martinez nonchalantly applying makeup, feeling a headache coming on.
"Alright, let's begin."
Luca organized the meeting materials on the table, prepared by the assistants, analyzing "I Am MT," the anime, and Azeroth Universe content.
"The agenda is simple. We're discussing three issues."
"First, whether the success model of 'I Am MT' can be replicated."
"Second, why Alex Parker created 'Azeroth Universe' and such a large world for the 'I Am MT' anime."
"Third, whether we can find anything useful from it."
"For the first issue, Natalie has already assigned someone to verify it. I also believe the success model of 'I Am MT' can be replicated, so no need to discuss it."
"Let's focus on the other two issues, especially the 'Azeroth Universe' part, which we haven't figured out."
"Alright, everyone is free to speak."
Luca finished and looked at the other A-level designers.
The A-level designers glanced at each other, having prepared but still feeling pressured to speak in front of the three S-level designers.
Finally, a designer in his thirties cleared his throat and said, "I'll start."
Luca nodded for him to go ahead.
This designer, Charlie Ramos, was an experienced but somewhat rigid designer at Generation Entertainment, known for handling "dirty work" without many standout works.
Charlie said, "I think Alex Parker's 'Azeroth Universe' serves two purposes: one, as a gimmick to promote 'I Am MT'; and two, he has ambitions to turn it into a super IP for future games."
Luca nodded, "Elaborate."
