Chapter 3: Scorch
Forseti acquired the "Forging Blueprint: Indestructible Power." Initially mistaking it for the famed "All-Conquerable Power," he soon realized it was something else entirely.
**Indestructible Power**
- Type: Warhammer
- Standard Item Level: Level Zero
- Main Material: Any
- Forging Technique: Shaping material into a hammer
- Description: A hammer
- Supplement: None
These few lines constituted the entire blueprint. Forseti felt a pang of frustration—a hundred thousand Pegasus ran through his heart. The Indestructible Power in Warcraft, though somewhat useless, still fetched a decent price from merchants and was even collected by players as novelty items. Yet, this one seemed utterly worthless!
Grimacing, Forseti calmed himself and purchased another "Gift of Fate."
Received: "Thank you for your patronage."
Forseti: "..."
He took a deep breath and made another purchase.
Received: "Piety 0.48."
Then another: "Piety 1.57."
"1.57 piety, not bad—some earnings at least," Forseti muttered, a bit relieved, continuing his purchases.
"Thank you for your patronage," "Devotion 0.95," and then, "Book of Spells: Holy Light Strike."
Forseti's eyes gleamed as he quickly turned to inspect it.
**Book of Spells: Holy Light Strike**
- Description: Summons Holy Light to enhance attacks. Effect strength increases against sinners, with deeper sins amplifying the strike. The spell vanishes after use...
Seemed useful. However, lacking a proper weapon and combat skills, Forseti hesitated to try it out.
Perhaps he should focus on self-improvement first instead of these useless items... he sighed inwardly.
As a frail teenager, Forseti could barely bully mortal humans on Earth, let alone face real challenges in Asgard. It was a shameful state for an Asgardian.
Forseti halted his purchases and suddenly remembered several items in the Guardian's Gift he hadn't read. Turning the page, he found:
**Alchemy Formula: Talent Mixture**
**Flask of Talent**
- Type: Mixture
- Standard Item Level: Level 7
- Main Ingredients: Silverleaf Grass, Heather Grass, Purple Lotus, Golden Thorn Grass, Lightning Core, Sand of Time, Arcane Traces, Mountain Blood, Young Dragon Blood
- Alchemy Technology: ...
- Description: Reshapes user talents significantly and positively. Effect strength varies with alchemy completion. May grant special talents once consumed.
- Supplement: Single use, no effect from multiple servings. God's Blessing enhances Talent Flask effects...
Reshaping talents!
Forseti was astounded. Could drinking this Talent Mixture grant talents like Thor's.?
However, producing the Talent Mixture seemed daunting. The Fist of Verrigan, a mere fourth-level item for novice Paladins, was rated a seventh-level item. Among the nine ingredients, Mountain Blood and Young Dragon Blood left a lasting impression on Forseti.
In World of Warcraft, Mountain Blood was vital for crafting the Sulfuron Hammer, scarce and hard to obtain. He recalled the countless runs through Molten Core to gather just ten drops.
Creating the Sulfuron Hammer, predecessor to the legendary weapon Sulfuras, the Hand of Ragnaros the Balrog.
Would Asgard have ample substitutes for Mountain Blood?
Young Dragon Blood surely meant blood from juvenile dragons, posing an immense challenge.
Forseti recalled the fiery dragon from "Thor 3," significantly more powerful than ordinary Asgardians.
Best to put that aside for now.
Comparatively, "Paladin Combat, Unarmed (Introduction)" and "Paladin Combat, Hammer (Introduction)" proved more practical—skills Forseti could begin learning immediately.
He studied unarmed combat closely.
Paladin fighting techniques were remarkably comprehensive, explaining complex moves in straightforward language and accompanied by detailed illustrations. Their grace and efficacy surpassed mundane fighting styles.
Lost in practice, Forseti heard a voice outside:
"Forseti!"
Glancing out the window, he saw a smiling, chubby black-haired boy beckoning.
"Oh..."
Though Forseti inherited the body's memories, they were incomplete. He recognized the boy but couldn't recall his name.
"What's up? Come down," the boy gestured eagerly.
Forseti hesitated. He used to leap from windows rather than take stairs—the Asgardian physique made such feats routine, especially for the former Forseti, an avid climber.
But times had changed. Leaping from a third-story window unnerved him.
Gritting his teeth, Forseti braced himself and leaped.
Fortuitously, his Asgardian physique didn't disappoint. Though his landing was awkward, he felt no pain.
"Why not take the stairs?" the boy chuckled, patting his shoulder. "You're not afraid of heights."
Familiar, yet the boy's name escaped Forseti's memory, leaving him embarrassed.
"Sorry... What's your name?" Forseti asked.
The boy widened his eyes. "You really don't remember me?"
"I remember you, just not your name. Must be some aftereffect," Forseti explained.
The boy hesitated, then said, "S—"
"What?"
"Sco—"
Struggling with Forseti's memory lapse, the boy avoided revealing his name, introducing himself as if they'd just met.
"Sco what?"
"Scorch!"
