Demon Statue
The appointment letter had Odin's signature and the official position: Captain of the Thirty-Fourth Combat Team, with a third-level military rank. It also detailed the team's situation.
In Asgard, the standard configuration for a combat team is 12 people, but it can range from 10 to 20. This particular team was relatively large, with a total of 15 members, including a captain and two vice-captains.
What surprised Forseti was that he knew several members of the team.
One of the vice-captains was his old friend Skurge, and the other was Farwind, the clairvoyant he had met when he first arrived at the camp.
Of the remaining twelve team members, Forseti knew three: one was Valkyrie, and the other was Haldo from Norvi Magic Shop. Both were fairly friendly.
The last one was more problematic.
Amora.
Seeing the name, Forseti couldn't help but frown.
Noticing the change in his expression, Hermond leaned over to take a look and then blinked. "Amora? Isn't she the one we met in Nornheim before?"
"Yeah." Forseti sighed slightly.
Hermond's expression was complicated, and then he suddenly remembered something. "By the way, you told me last time that she killed someone. Who was it?"
Forseti didn't answer. After saying goodbye to everyone, he packed up and walked toward the Thirty-Fourth Team.
Soon he arrived.
"Forseti?!"
Skurge, who had known Forseti since they were young, was very surprised to recognize him quickly despite the changes over the years.
He stood up in disbelief. "When did you get here, and how did you..."
Although Forseti had grown tall and strong, he still had to look up to meet Skurge's eyes, who stood over two meters tall.
Forseti was about to speak when Farwind, who was nearby, snapped his fingers crisply and said with a smile, "He came here with me. It's been a few days. What, you two know each other?"
"Hello," Forseti said, looking at Farwind with a polite smile. He wasn't comfortable facing someone with such penetrating vision.
"Are you our new captain?" an unfamiliar voice asked, not sounding very friendly.
"Yes." Forseti showed his appointment letter. "I, Forseti Garrison, am your captain from today. I hope we can work well together."
The same unfamiliar voice replied, "This is a cursed squad that's been wiped out twice. The captain has died four times. I hope you won't be as useless as the first four captains."
"Elito, I promise he's a great captain," said another unfamiliar face. "If you fight him, I'll bet your head you'll lose."
Elito snorted.
The person who made the bet extended a hand to Forseti with a very respectful attitude. "I noticed you in the previous battle, and your strength is admirable. My name is Arroyo."
"Thank you." Forseti smiled slightly.
He then greeted the other team members one by one, maintaining a calm atmosphere.
Although Haldo and Valkyrie had met him before, they had only seen him once or twice prior to his awakening. They were essentially strangers to him now.
"Hello," Forseti said to Amora, giving her a polite smile but saying no more.
Amora was momentarily stunned, then smiled sweetly, returning to her charming demeanor. "It seems divine power has changed you, Forseti... But you may not know, you've always looked this way to me."
Forseti couldn't help but feel flattered for a moment, despite having no good feelings for her.
Suddenly, Amora's face turned serious, and she looked at Farwind. "Farwind, believe it or not, I'll pull out your eyeballs!"
Farwind quickly averted his gaze but accidentally glanced at Valkyrie.
"Crack!" Valkyrie, being more direct, slapped him without a word, her strike full of strength and producing a crisp sound.
"I wasn't looking at you, Valkyrie," Farwind said, covering his face, almost in tears.
Amora responded, "You were looking at me!"
"Crack!" She slapped him as well.
With slaps from both Valkyrie and Amora on either side, Farwind's face was quite symmetrical.
"Hahaha, Farwind, you're peeping at women again!" The team members laughed, filling the air with joy.
"Clairvoyance, a double-edged sword," Skurge said, patting Forseti on the shoulder. "Though he's a vice-captain like me, you can see he has no dignity in the team... Having supernatural power isn't always a good thing."
"By the way, Forseti, what divine power did you awaken to make such a change in you?"
"Fire," Forseti said, lighting a fire in his hand.
Seeing this, Haldo said, "The power of fire, it seems we'll have an easier time dealing with frost giants."
Arroyo added, "If you saw the Captain's performance in the last battle, you'd know he handles demons even better."

# Night Attack
Night always makes people nervous, as if many dangers lurk in the darkness. In fact, this is often the case. At least the frost giants, who hate the sun, never choose to attack during the day.
"Enemy attack!"
Not long after most of the camp had fallen asleep, the alarm of an enemy attack spread throughout, waking the soldiers from their dreams.
Seeing the enemy approaching, Forseti and his team grabbed their weapons and prepared to fight.
"What is that?" Skurge asked, glancing at a statue Forseti had produced from nowhere.
"Obviously, a demon statue," Farwind said.
Forseti smiled. "No, to be precise, this is a demon."
With that, he flashed the flame in his palm, raised the demon statue, and threw it out.
"Come forth, demon!"
The demon statue glowed with blood, exuding an aura of evil and fire. It grew rapidly, becoming the size of an ordinary person in an instant, and then came to life, turning into a fiery red-skinned demon.
Its presence was weak, not even matching that of an average Asgardian soldier. It was clearly unfit for battle.
However, Forseti hadn't intended for this low-quality demon statue to participate in the fight.
After the demon appeared, he bound its hands with chains and faked some injuries to make it look like a captive demon that had just escaped from the Aesir camp...
