Inhuman Bandits
"Chuck—"
The sword of Rivendell was unsheathed, and with a flash of cold light, the two oddly shaped creatures were beheaded in unison.
They were stunned for a moment until their heads fell to the ground, and they realized, too late, that they were dead.
"Inhumans..." Agamotto said.
The Kree people had experimented on humans on Earth, creating the Inhumans.
The goal of the Kree was to create a legion of superpowered beings to fulfill their ambitions. Unfortunately, the technology was flawed, and the resulting Inhumans were often deformed, with many suffering from severe physical and psychological defects.
The Kree did not properly dispose of these defective creations. Some were dissected, while others were released like lab rats.
The "released" Inhumans could no longer live as normal humans, often turning to banditry or even beast-like behavior, causing havoc.
The oddly shaped creatures that appeared before Forseti and the others were these Inhuman bandits.
In addition to the two in front of them, more Inhuman bandits were ravaging the village protected by the Supreme Sanctuary, burning, killing, and looting, leaving the villagers in mourning.
The mages of the Third Sanctuary were fighting back but were at a disadvantage due to a lack of manpower.
Forseti and Agamotto wasted no time. Agamotto's Cloak of Levitation stirred, lifting him quickly into the air toward the battlefield. Forseti followed, joining the battle against the Inhumans.
The Inhumans had abilities, but their overall strength was lacking, and their flesh was no match for Forseti's fiery onslaught. With Rivendell's sharp blade in hand, Forseti blazed through the air like a meteor, cutting down or burning Inhumans wherever he went.
Agamotto wielded a magic whip like a sharp blade, effortlessly dispatching the chaotic Inhumans.
Forseti was surprised to see Cagliostro, a young magic apprentice, displaying considerable combat prowess, handling an Inhuman on his own with ease.
Soon, most of the attacking Inhuman bandits were killed, a few escaped, and a handful were captured.
"Where did you come from?" a mage demanded of a captive.
"Roar-roar!" An Inhuman with a tiger's head roared, his long fangs protruding menacingly.
The mage frowned and turned to another captive.
"Bah!" The Inhuman spat, hitting the young mage in the face. Trembling with anger, the mage's lips curled in disgust.
"Hahaha, how does it taste?" The Inhuman laughed maniacally before being beheaded.
Of the several Inhuman captives, none could communicate normally. Most had the intelligence of beasts or were psychologically twisted and aggressive.
One Inhuman had clear, calm eyes, indicating a normal mind. However, he had no ears or mouth and could not speak.
"Supreme Mage, these Inhuman bandits are a constant threat. We should proactively eliminate them, at least in the Sanctuary's vicinity," a mage suggested.
"There have been previous attacks on villagers by Inhumans, though not as large-scale as today. To protect the village, we must eliminate the Inhumans," another mage agreed.
"I concur," Agamotto said. "We should indeed cleanse the area of Inhuman bandits."
"Once the villagers are settled, we will organize an expedition."
A few days later, Agamotto led dozens of mages from the Third Sanctuary to a nearby hill where Inhuman bandits frequently operated. Forseti and several others accompanied them.
They discovered that the Inhumans had established a crude encampment. Despite its simplicity, the encampment housed thousands of Inhumans.
Around the hill, eagles circled in the sky, but they did not land.
As the group climbed a mountain path, a boulder suddenly rolled down from above, shaking the ground as it sped toward them.
Skurge roared, stepping forward to intercept the boulder.
"Boom!"
The boulder knocked him back, leaving deep footprints in the ground. After a moment of struggle, he managed to redirect the boulder, sending it crashing down the mountain, where it shattered.
The group continued their ascent, but soon the eagles circling overhead swooped down with a cacophony of screeches.
Hundreds of eagles rushed towards the group, their beaks covered in copper, making them formidable weapons.
Seeing this, the mages spread their hands, opening a huge portal above them, leading to a body of water. The eagles, caught off guard, plunged into the water.
The portal closed, and the eagles were gone.
Agamotto's team, comprising dozens of mages and four Asgardian warriors, was the most formidable force on Earth at the time. They proceeded unimpeded and soon reached the Inhuman encampment.
Hundreds of Inhuman bandits, each more grotesque than the last, awaited them with roars and snarls.
"Attack!" an Inhuman shouted.
The Inhuman bandits charged at Agamotto's team.
Agamotto responded instantly, and the battle was joined.
The Inhumans, though numerous, were weak and no match for the mages and Asgardian warriors.
Forseti noted the glowing Holy Light pointer from the Sanctuary, which turned repeatedly.
Wielding Rivendell, he cut through the Inhuman ranks, the red lines on the sword flickering with the enchantment of revenge feedback.
Due to revenge feedback, every time Forseti avenged a fallen foe, he regained some energy, keeping his injuries and mana in check.
Against these Inhuman bandits, Forseti's energy was never depleted. With revenge feedback, he maintained peak condition throughout the battle.
In a short time, the undisciplined Inhuman bandits were either dead or scattered.
"Wow—"
Suddenly, a dense, orderly bird song filled the air, loud enough to make everyone's ears ring.
Looking up, they saw a dark cloud in the sky, which, upon closer inspection, was actually composed of countless birds.
