Ares
"Game start!"
Ares always exudes an aura of menace, as if there's a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood trailing behind him. His bloody footprints seem to mark every step he takes.
No one on Sakaar knows his past, but during his years in the arena, Ares has killed countless opponents. These alone are enough to label him a relentless killer.
In contrast, Beta Ray Bill appears much less fearsome.
Though his tall and sturdy body and peculiar horse face give Beta Ray Bill a commanding presence, his pure personality and reluctance to kill give off an air of honesty.
"Ares! Ares!" The arena's audience clearly preferred the bloodthirsty Ares, cheering for him enthusiastically.
Fewer people supported Beta Ray Bill, and their applause was nearly drowned out.
However, in facing Beta Ray Bill, Ares was exceedingly serious, far more than with any previous opponent.
He gripped his massive battle axe tightly, looking at Beta Ray Bill, and touched the surrender disk on his neck. "I can sense your extraordinary power. It's a pity we're both bound by this thing now."
Hearing this, Beta Ray Bill's eyes flickered.
Forseti, observing through his holy deeds, understood that while Ares was controlled by the Grandmaster, he was far from a good person, addicted to killing.
Beta Ray Bill, lacking Forseti's insight, didn't realize Ares's true nature. Feeling some sympathy, he hesitated, almost forgetting he was on the battlefield.
Ares's eyes flashed with disdain.
Then, Ares suddenly lunged forward, swinging his battle axe at Beta Ray Bill.
Startled, Beta Ray Bill quickly dodged and counterattacked with his hammer, Mjölnir.
"Boom!"
Ares's axe collided with Mjölnir, resulting in a thunderous clash, lightning scattering everywhere.
"Boom boom boom—" Ares followed with several more strikes.
Beta Ray Bill, caught off guard, was forced back several steps before he could regain his stance.
Ares frowned, glancing down at his battle axe, which had several small gaps from the confrontation.
Clearly, the quality of Ares's axe was inferior to Mjölnir.
Beta Ray Bill focused on the battle, tightening his grip on Mjölnir, which began to spark with electricity.
"Boom..." The sky above them roared with thunder.
"Thor! Thor!" The audience's support for Beta Ray Bill grew, competing with Ares's supporters.
With Mjölnir raised high, Beta Ray Bill called down a powerful bolt of lightning aimed at Ares.
As the lightning brewed, Ares's expression shifted. Blood surged over his body, making him appear drenched in blood. His eyes glowed red, giving him a feral look.
When the lightning struck, Ares, with a loud roar, shot out of its path at incredible speed.
"Boom!"
His giant axe swung again, clashing with Beta Ray Bill, who now radiated lightning.
Covered in blood, Ares was noticeably stronger.
Their intense battle filled the arena with flashes of lightning and splashes of blood, creating a spectacular display.
Such a high-intensity fight was rare on Sakaar, and the audience erupted in cheers.
"Beta Ray Bill!"
"Ares! Ares!" Fans on both sides screamed, their voices hoarse with excitement.
In the VIP section, the Grandmaster smiled. "Haha, it seems Thor is still a bit inexperienced. This match should be no contest."
Forseti clenched his fists nervously, glancing around as he watched the fight.
"Boom!"
Lightning and force collided fiercely.
Beta Ray Bill was sent flying, Mjölnir slipping from his grasp and falling to the ground.
Ares, breathing heavily, looked at his damaged battle axe.
Knowing the significant difference in quality, he dropped the axe and approached the fallen Mjölnir.
"Your hammer is good, but it's mine now." Ares smirked, reaching for Mjölnir.
But his expression quickly changed when he couldn't lift the hammer.
Stunned, he tried with both hands.
Despite his efforts, Mjölnir remained immovable.
Beta Ray Bill stood up and extended his hand.
"Boom—"
Mjölnir flew back to Beta Ray Bill, nearly causing Ares to fall.
Holding Mjölnir, Beta Ray Bill declared, "A warrior should not abandon his weapon."
Ares gritted his teeth, glancing at his discarded battle axe.
But Beta Ray Bill, now determined, flew at Ares with Mjölnir, launching a relentless assault.
Ares, unarmed, was quickly overwhelmed, barely able to defend himself.
"Horse - Man!"
The audience, always favoring the stronger contender, now cheered for Beta Ray Bill.
In the VIP section, the Grandmaster frowned, leaning forward. "I thought Topaz couldn't lift the hammer because it was too heavy. Now it seems this hammer has some special power..."
Seeing Ares on the verge of defeat, the Grandmaster shook his head, taking out the remote control for the surrender disks and pressing a button.
"Ah!" Ares screamed, losing mobility instantly.
"Boom!" Beta Ray Bill struck him down.
The Grandmaster was startled. "Did I press the wrong button? Or is the controller installed incorrectly?"
He examined the remote control, switching the positions of the two controllers and pressing it again.
Beta Ray Bill was unaffected.
"What!" The Grandmaster was now panicking.
"Let me see," Forseti said, reaching for the remote control like an old friend offering help.
"Hurry, help me figure out what's wrong!" The Grandmaster handed him the remote control urgently.
