Chapter 19 : Do I still have a chance?

...

"What clothes do you want to buy?"

The staff came forward to greet them warmly.

Tsunade looked at Watanabe and thought about what kind of clothes would outfit him. She said thoughtfully,

"Bring an outfit that looks calm and elegant."

'Why are you looking at me ? Are you buying me clothes?' Watanabe thought.

Watanabe hesitated. He didn't have much money to begin with, and he didn't want to waste it on clothes. Two sets of old clothes at home were enough. But Tsunade had already brought him to the store, so it was difficult to refuse now.

"Okay, both of you follow me."

The waiter took them to the outfit area, where a row of neatly-stiffened and clean outfits came into view.

Watanabe was dazzled at first, but when he saw the labels worth thousands or tens of thousands of ryu, his scalp suddenly went numb.

Is this expensive outfit really for people to wear?

Even if he spent all his money, he couldn't buy one.

He felt a little uneasy in his heart, but Tsunade started to choose with great interest, taking off a few pieces from time to time and sticking them on Watanabe to show him how to do it.

"What do you think of this one?"

Watanabe glanced at the label. Thirteen thousand ryu, and thought 'Damn too expensive.'

"It's ok, the colour is a bit brighter."

He forced himself to remain calm, treating himself as Tsunade's best friend and accompanying her shopping.

Anyway, it is impossible for him to buy such expensive clothes and he can't even afford the money.

"What about this one?" Tsunade continued to choose.

"The lines are too colourful," Watanabe commented.

"What about this one?"

"This one is pretty good."

"Okay, you try this one."

Watanabe: "…"

Ah?

Do you want me to try this outfit ?

Are you sure I won't get beaten by the boss?

Watanabe looked at the staff and saw that he didn't care.

"Ohk."

Watanabe nodded guiltily, picked up the clothes and walked into the fitting room.

It is free to try, that's what girls do when they go shopping, when they see something nice, they want to try it.

But Watanabe thinks Tsunade should change this bad habit.

Ignoring the five-digit tag Watanabe goes inside the changing room, Watanabe took off his old clothes that were torn by Inuzuka Kiba, put on a brand new outfit and went out.

"Very handsome!"

The staff next to Tsunade immediately praised it.

Tsunade's eyes lit up. It was no wonder that Watanabe's calm and sunny temperament became more prominent after putting on the outfit, and he looked extremely handsome and elegant.

' No matter how handsome he is, I can't afford it '

Watanabe secretly complained to the staff that it was useless to flatter a poor man like him.

"Tsunade, did you like it ?"

Watanabe asked, in reality he was hinting for Tsunade to leave to avoid embarrassment later.

"He is indeed looking very handsome."

Tsunade folded her arms and smiled in agreement, as if she saw Watanabe becoming a Jonin in a few years.

"Miss, this dress really outfits your boyfriend!" the staff assisted.

Tsunade's cheeks instantly turned red.

'Hey bro, if you work in the service industry you'd be embarrassed if you said something wrong, right' Watanabe thought.

Watanabe was too tired to complain about the staff who was so careless with his words.

He no longer cared about Tsunade and went back to the fitting room to change his clothes and leave.

"Watanabe, come here"

Tsunade called him over and brought five different styles of outfits to Watanabe: "Try all of these on."

Watanabe moved his lips and wanted to say something to her and looked at her with a complicated look.

He really wanted to tell Tsunade that although you are the granddaughter of the first Hokage, you might really be beaten by the boss if you mess up the clothing store like this.

There was no way out. He and Tsunade were in the same boat, so he could only bite the bullet and continue trying on clothes.

After that, every time Watanabe changed into an outfit and went out, he would always attract the admiration of the staff and Tsunade's admiring and satisfied gazes.

Soon, all five outfits were tried on.

"Miss, your boyfriend is a natural clothes hanger. He looks handsome in anything he wears."

The staff complimented politely.

' Haven't you realised you are saying the wrong thing? ' Watanabe couldn't help but worry about his career. What should he do if he was so short-sighted?

Tsunade nodded without correcting the staff, and returned to her usual calm demeanour , saying to Watanabe,

"Let's go."

it is finally over.

Watanabe let out a long sigh and went back to the fitting room to take off his outfit.

"No need to change, just wear what you are wearing right now," said Tsunade.

Watanabe was stunned and didn't quite understand what she meant.

"This lady has already paid for you."

The staff saw Watanabe's confusion and explained happily: "And the few pieces you just tried on are all packed!"

Watanabe: "???"

This sentence really confused him, as if struck by lightning. He suspected that Tsunade and the waiter had teamed up to make fun of him.

He looked at Tsunade, but Tsunade's eyes wandered to the several packaging bags next to her.

"Carry the bag yourself."

After saying that, she turned and walked out.

Watanabe reacted quickly, picked up the bag and followed.

"Please visit us next time!"

The staff said goodbye to them happily.

On the street, Watanabe was walking side by side with Tsunade, carrying large and small bags, and neither of them spoke.

Watanabe felt mixed emotions and couldn't help but speak first: "Tsunade?"

"What." Tsunade replied.

"I don't have that much money." He sighed,

"These clothes are too expensive."

'Fool'

Tsunade cursed him silently.

Can't he tell that the clothes were given by her?

She wanted to say that Watanabe didn't need to pay, but then she thought that Watanabe was a proud person and might not be happy to accept her gift. He might be pretending to be ignorant, so she changed her tone:

"Consider it a loan from me. You can pay me back when you have money later."

Watanabe: "…"

He was so desperate.

That's more than 60,000 ryo, and he has no source of income now. How long will it take for him to pay it back?

"So...should I write an agreement?" Watanabe asked.

Tsunade hesitated and she thought,

'He is really proud and even thought of the agreement'

"Write it." Tsunade said.

Watanabe wanted to cry. He felt so wronged that he was burdened with a huge debt for no reason.

If he had so much money, he would be crazy to use it to buy clothes.

"Tsunade, Watanabe...? Are you shopping?"

At this time, a gentle voice sounded.

The two looked in the direction of the sound and saw a blue-haired boy walking towards them with a look of surprise.

The person who came was none other than his classmate Kato Dan.

"Well, I'm accompanying Watanabe to buy clothes." Tsunade replied calmly.

Kato was very surprised: "You accompanied Watanabe to buy clothes?"

Tsunade frowned slightly. She didn't like Kato Dan's surprised look, as if she couldn't be with Watanabe.

'You are not related to me, why do you have so many opinions about me?' Tsunade though

"We still have to eat next, so I talk to you anymore."

She left immediately, and Watanabe waved goodbye to kato dan.

Kato Dan stared at their receding figures, feeling empty and lost in his heart.

Watanabe is just a commoner orphan and certainly cannot afford the expensive outfit he is wearing, so it could only be bought for him by Tsunade.

'When did the two of them become so close?

Do I still have a chance?' Kato den thought
