CHAPTER 14 : A New Threat

The air in the cave crackled with energy as Castiel practiced his magic, concentrating on controlling the flow of mana to create elemental spells. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he focused intently on channeling his mana.

His precise movements reflected the countless hours spent honing his skills. The cave walls reflected a dim light, casting strange but beautiful patterns on the stone.

A sudden chill enveloped him, signaling that something ominous was approaching. It felt as if his surroundings were trying to communicate with him. He paused, straining to listen.

"What was that?" he whispered to himself.

His heart raced as urgency replaced his initial curiosity. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Taking a deep breath, he ran towards their home, which was not far from where he was.

His heart pounded faster, fueled by a mix of worry and fear. He moved quickly, barely touching the ground despite the dangerous path in the forest, filled with rocks and roots ready to trip him.

As Castiel approached the mansion, he slowed, carefully observing his surroundings. Every shadow seemed to move, and every rustle of leaves felt like a potential threat.

An ominous feeling hung in the twilight, creating a tense atmosphere. His mind ran through possibilities: an attack? A warning? He wasn't sure, but he needed to find out. Thoughts of his parents came to mind, heightening his concern.

He spotted an unfamiliar figure wearing heavy armor, glinting faintly in the dim light. The knight was speaking with his parents. Their gestures showed the seriousness of the conversation, and their faces reflected worry.

"Who is that?" he wondered as he slowly walked towards them.

Curiosity piqued, because of recent events, he had become more alert, especially after seeing his father hurt. His mind played out worst-case scenarios, but he needed to stay calm to understand the situation before reacting.

"Mom, Dad," he called out, trying to keep his voice steady despite the turmoil inside him.

Helene and Arthur turned to him, their expressions softening slightly at their son's arrival. The knight followed their gaze, his eyes sharp but not unkind.

Arthur spoke, his voice tinged with sadness and concern.

"Cas, son."

He gestured for his son to come closer.

"There is something you need to hear."

With a nod, Castiel quickly approached, shifting his gaze from his parents to the knight. He took a deep breath, preparing for what his parents would say.

"Who is he? And what's happening? Is there a problem?" he wondered as he stared at the knight.

Different emotions churned inside him, each moment of silence feeling eternal. There was a mystery in the knight's presence that he wanted to uncover, but he waited for them to speak.

The silence was broken by Lucius's deep, powerful voice.

"Young one," he began, his tone firm but concerned, "your abilities have caused quite a stir in certain parts of Agarthical."

He paused, locking eyes with Castiel.

"We need to discuss your safety."

Castiel's brow furrowed upon hearing this, a sense of doubt rising within him. He immediately responded, a hint of defiance in his tone.

"Safety?" he questioned, turning to his parents.

"I'm safe with my parents. What do you mean?"

Helene and Arthur exchanged uneasy glances, their faces full of fear and concern for their son amid the growing tension.

Arthur's voice trembled as he spoke, clenching his fist.

"Sir, what danger does our son face?"

Lucius replied calmly,

"Come with me to Sanctia Gratia. We can help your child and protect him from any danger."

Helene's hands trembled, her voice laced with anxiety.

"Now? We're not ready. We need to think about this."

Castiel felt a sense of unease. Staring at the knight's face, his doubts grew.

He answered firmly, gripping his mother's hand and meeting the knight's gaze with determination.

"No, we're staying here. I'm not going with you."

Lucius closed his eyes and said no more, quickly turning and leaving the place.

As Lucius walked through the darkening forest, he felt a sense of unease. Castiel's determined look and defiance gave him chills, a feeling he wasn't accustomed to. He realized the boy's power was undeniable, and he wondered if leaving was the right decision.

As Lucius reflected on what had happened, a cold fear enveloped him. Castiel's challenging smile sent shivers down his spine, thickening the air with unsaid but threatening words. Staying longer might have been a grave mistake that could lead to serious harm.

With renewed purpose, Lucius hastened back to Sanctia Gratia, his mind racing with implications of what he had witnessed. He needed to reach Sanctia Gratia quickly and report to Archbishop Chesterton Garcera about the growing threat, potentially altering the balance of power in Agartha, necessitating swift action from the Church to contain it.

Inside the mansion, candlelight cast shadows on the walls. Arthur and Helene exchanged worried glances, their minds full of concern for the future. Although they always considered possible dangers, the visit from Sanctia Gratia was unexpected and shocking.

Helene paced the room, hands trembling.

"What will we do, Arthur?" she whispered. "They want to take Castiel. I can't lose him."

Arthur stood by the window, gazing at the moonlit forest. He turned to Helene, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"We must protect him, Helene," he said firmly. "Castiel is our life, and we won't let anyone take him without a fight."

Helene stopped pacing, staring at Arthur.

"But how, Arthur? This is Sanctia Gratia. They won't stop. How can we prevent them?"

Arthur frowned.

"We need to find allies. Surely there are others in Agarthical who understand and are willing to stand with us."

Castiel, having listened in silence, stood.

"I'm not leaving. I don't want to!" he declared, his voice resolute. "We'll stay here!"

Helene and Arthur turned to their son, their faces a mix of pride and fear. Helene knelt before Castiel, holding his hands.

"Sweetheart, we need to be careful," she whispered. "Your power is a gift, so many are interested." She hugged him tightly.

Arthur placed a hand on Castiel's shoulder. Firmly, he declared,

"We will stand together as a family."

Taking a deep breath,

"We'll face whatever comes together. We'll ensure your power is used for good and not by those who wish to exploit it."

The family hugged tightly. Outside, the night remained silent, but they knew the peace was fragile.

They needed to be vigilant and stand strong to protect their family's safety and future. Despite being just a kid, Castiel felt a rush of determination. He was ready to embrace his destiny and do whatever it took to keep his family safe and together.

Suddenly, a large mysterious leaf entered their room, carried by an unseen force. In the dim light, words appeared on it.

"Trust in my guidance, for your child is fated to be great,

Yet only if, like the wind, unbound by those who seek to manipulate.

In freedom's embrace, where rivers flow and mountains stand high,

Their power shall flourish, beneath the vast, untainted sky."
