Chapter 66 - What Was That ?

After allocating the available points , Ishida was ready for the next challenge, whatever the challenge was at the next floor , which was the 7th floor in this quest.

Until Now in this quest, he had faced many demons, weak to powerful ones, some of them even took him to his limit, but, now that he was at a very greater level than what he was during the time this quest had begun, he was very much excited to know what is his next challenge is going to be.

Ishida sighed, if he just knew he could do it from the very beginning, he wouldn't have to waste time walking through the stairs in every floor, though, not tiring , they took some times of his.

"Yes!" He said, as a light wrapped around him , and in a moment it faded away , as he stood at the same place he was standing in front of the same door he was sent back from earlier, but this time it was different , and for some reason , unlike the last time , the feeling of standing there was different.

The last time he stood there, he could sense the powerful presence from the other side of the door, but, this time, just like before he can sense the same presence from there, but, it doesn't feel like it did before. Like , his body was almost shaking by the presence the previous time, but this time, it doesn't even bother him at all.

"I guess I got a lot stronger than the last time," Ishida said, as he placed his hand in the door to open it, "... But, it's obvious I guess, my level is more than double of what I was the previous time,"

That's right, as the last time when he stood in the same place, his level was at 27 only. But, just by one side quest, he went from level 27 to 60 in no time.

"Let's Finish The Quest..." He said, pushing the door.

As the door opened, up a bright light came directly from inside as Ishida closed his eyes unable to keep them open due to the brightness of the light coming from inside.

As Moments later, the brightness completely faded as Ishida opened his eyes to look at the inside of the floor, almost the same as the previous floors, excluding the fact that, it is not seem to be a destroyed and messy place like the previous floors, and had a very well build floor, though, it was completely empty as well, nothing at all from one side to another.

"Weird, I expected it to be different for some reason," Ishida muttered under his breath, as he took big stride and walked inside the floor. "I am already feeling a bit hungry now," Ishida sighed deeply, "Hunger is annoying."

"7 Opponents only...!? I have defeated more than 100 demons in 10 minutes earlier in the previous side quest, I don't understand... It's going to be easy." Ishida thought to himself, and then read the texts in the screen once again, "Opponent... Weird, it didn't say demon?"

As soon as the screen popped up, the air seemed to change , as before could even react there were vines coming out all around him, from underneath his feet through the concrete floor , to the ceiling, and walls at the same time, "Wait, something seems familiar..." He thought to himself, as the vines tried to wrap around his legs , but before it they could possibly grab his feet, with his agility and speed moved away from the place as the vines from above and underneath started following him , and because the vines were coming from all directions, Ishida was finally caught in between all the vines around him, not because of their speed , but the sheer amount of vines that were coming after him.

"As I thought, it's quite familiar..." He thought, as he stopped at one place , and the vines kept approaching him, and just as they were about to wrap all around his body, Ishida brought his sword in front and in instant, his sword ran through with 6 slashes in all directions with very quick speed, cutting through all the vines with those slashes the vines dropped to the ground lifelessly.

But, the attack wasn't over there, Ishida's lips curved up , showing a slight smirk, as he sensed the demon's attack coming from Miles, he put his sword in another hand, and in less than a second turned around and caught the clawy hand in midair in front of him, "Good to see you back." He said, as he pushed the demon with his strength with only one hand, "I thought you would never show up in front of me again."

The serpent demon he faced earlier, the during the mission with both Karin and Kazuki, he has met with this demon, but after killing the other demon with it, he went away, without fighting.

The serpent demon staggered back, its yellow eyes narrowing as it hissed, "You've grown stronger, human. But it won't save you."

Ishida smirked, his sword gleaming as he replied, "I've been waiting to kill you. Don't disappoint me this time by running away again,"

The demon's lips curled into a sneer, its voice dripping with scorn. "I ran away because you were too weak for me to fight you that time. You weren't worth the effort."

Ishida tilted his head, his smirk sharpening into something far more dangerous. "Is that so?" he said, his tone light but razor-edged. "If what you said is true, then shouldn't I run away too? After all, you're *so* powerful, and I'm just a 'weak human,' right?" He spread his arms mockingly, his sword still held loosely in one hand. "Here's your chance. Show me how 'weak' I am. Or are you all talk, serpent?"

The demon's eyes flared, its claws flexing as a low growl escaped its throat. "You dare mock me? I'll tear you apart!"

Ishida chuckled, a low, cold sound that carried nothing but disdain. "Go ahead. Try. But let me warn you," he said, his voice dropping to a menacing whisper, "last time, you ran because you thought I wasn't worth it. This time, you'll run because you'll realize you're not enough."

[Demon : Zarathis (Level : 35)]

The demon snarled, its serpentine body coiling as it lunged forward, claws extended. Ishida's smirk never wavered as he raised his sword, the blade catching the light as he prepared to meet the attack head-on. "Let's see if you've learned anything since the last time," he taunted, his voice calm and cutting. "Or if you're just as pathetic as I remember."

Ishida blocked the attack with his bare hand and looked at it with a smile, the demon retaliated and attacked with it's other claw hand, but Ishida immediately with an single slash of his sword cut through it's other hand and with strength sent it flying over to one side of the room as the demon crashed into the wall and fell to the ground, "I could have just killed you now, but I couldn't let go of the chance of fighting you after waiting so long just in a second can I ?!" Ishida said with a confidence that he never felt before.

The demon got back to it's tail, as it's face said, it was angered by the mocking of Ishida, "I don't care what ******* ********* do with you, but I will kill you right here and right now."

Ishida frowned seeing the sudden interruptions between the demon's speech, as he looked confusingly towards him, as the demon's word, like he couldn't hear few words or whoever the demon was talking about.

"Weird!" Ishida muttered, as the demon's hand returned back to normal , as it seemed it regenerated it's hand and looked with more malicious and anger towards Ishida.

"His presence is not that strong presence I felt earlier standing outside the gate... It was not malicious at all. It was powerful but... More powerful than him, who was it !?" Ishida thought with an confused expression, as some things were happening around him right now, that he wasn't able to understand at all.
