A Taste of A Brother’s Love

"Young Miss, it's time to wake up now." I can feel Anna gently shaking my shoulder, her voice soft and soothing. A new day has begun, as the sun is already peeking through the drapes. I briefly opened my eyes and then requested an additional five minutes to lay back in bed and enjoy the comforting warmth of my blankets.

"We should prepare for breakfast, young miss. The madam, the duke, and the young masters were in the dining room already. They're waiting for you to wake up." The mention of my family waiting for me startled me into waking up. It implies that I already woke up late. Dad must have given Anna the order not to wake me up so early. As I hurried to get ready, I couldn't help but be appreciative of Anna's gentle wake-up call.

"Anna, time." I was trying to ask her about what time it was.

"It's already 9:00 a.m., young miss." What? I'm really very late! My arms immediately opened, trying to make Anna carry me. Usually, we will have breakfast at 8:00 a.m. They've been waiting for me for an hour. I can't even imagine my three brothers waiting for an hour with those hungry stomachs. Anna carried me at once and almost ran the hallways to the dining room. Anna must feel what I felt; that's why she's hurrying. It's like she has telepathic abilities.

Upon opening the massive doors to our dining room, I saw my family joyfully engaging in conversation with one another. I was reminded with warmth by the sight of how fortunate I am to have such a caring family. I was filled with gratitude as I sat down at the table with them, eager to have a delectable breakfast.

"Our late princess is finally here. Let's eat," said Alexander, who was clearly teasing me. The whole family joined him and laughed at me. I can't help but laugh with them. We started to eat and talk about each other's whereabouts these past few days. Although I really can't share with them because I can't properly talk, I just nod my head if I agree and shake my head if I disagree when asked something.

"Duchess Blue will be back from her vacation with little Jack on Avy's birthday. That cute little boy wants to see his future fiance." I choked on the food that I just ate when mom said that, and she looked at me with a teasing look in her eyes. My brothers and my fathers outright protested against my mom while I was shaking my head frantically to show that I was protesting too. We had the same thoughts. I'm too young for that! My mom just laughed at our expressions.

"It was Duchess Blue's idea, but I didn't agree to it," she said, still laughing. I bet you're so happy to tease these troublemakers, aren't you, Mom? I saw my father and my brothers sighed in relief, not minding Mom's tease.

"But it's okay if they're going to be friends. Avy needs friends her age," Mom added, and the men reacted strongly again. But Mom stopped them before they could protest. "I know you're going to protest because the young heir of Blue is currently 3 years old and not Avy's age. But he's one of the youngest children in the empire that could be Avy's playmates, together with the little crown prince and the son of the high priest," Mom said with a stern voice that leaves no room for protests anymore. My father and brothers let out a huge sigh while I felt goosebumps run through my spine. What my mom said feels ominous to me.

"If you just didn't cause trouble with your mother and make your little sister cry, this topic would not be discussed," my father said to my brothers, gritting his teeth. My brothers looked at me with expectant looks, looked away, and let out a sigh. Why are they like this? Did I do something wrong?

After our hearty meal, Anna carried me back to my room. Mom and Dad went back to their offices because they're. busy with the preparations for my upcoming first birthday. It's only a few months away now. I'm already 10 months old as of now. My brothers had already gotten out of the dining room before Anna could carry me. I really don't know if I did something wrong to them today. They usually kissed me before they went to their classes. I left the dining room with a confused heart.

"There's another toy again in your window, young miss." I turned my attention towards Anna, who was picking up a doll in my window with a knowing look. I think Anna already knew who left that here. I let out a sigh and turned my attention to the tower of toys in my room. I received lots of toys anonymously. One by one, the toys suddenly appeared in my room. I got suspicious of them. I wonder why a new toy would appear whenever I went back to my room after taking a stroll outside with Anna or when I went back from breakfast. At first, I thought it was Dad who would sneak these toys into my room. But now, I know it's not him. My confusion earlier vanished into thin air. I think it's the three idiots—no, I mean, my three brothers. They were sulking earlier because they thought I still didn't forgive them.

I smirked at myself when I thought of an idea. They're going to sneak another toy in here after their training. I have to wait for the time they come here.

"Anna, no, no walk." I was trying to say to her that we would not be taking a stroll outside today. She instantly nodded her head in understanding. Anna really is the best.

When afternoon came, I hid under my bed with so much struggle, and later on, the windows opened, and then I saw three pairs of small legs tiptoeing in my room. I chuckled at the sight. I knew it! I decided to scare them since it's my way to make them pay about last time.

I crawled out of the place under my bed and screamed, "ROAR!" to them. I thought they would be startled, but I was wrong. They looked at me like I was a tiny teddy bear that caught their attention. I internally facepalmed. My plan failed. They immediately bear-hugged me and kissed me on the cheeks. They apologized to me about last time.

"You're too fragile to hold a wooden sword, so we won't play with swords again with you. We're sorry, Baby Tomato." I was stunned when it was Adonis who said that. Usually, it's Alexander who is the one to say sorry. My second brother is really adorable today.

"We promise to wear dresses and play with Rose and Lily again, so please forgive us, sis." I was stunned twice today. My cool brother, who only speaks a few words a day, just said that. He's talking about my two dolls, who were with us every time we played tea time. You're really blinding today, Axel.

They looked at me with their puppy faces. Oh, they're using an underhanded method to make me accept their apology. Did they think they could win me over with that? I looked away from them. I just need sunglasses for your brightness today, brothers.

I looked up at them again. Oh no. They're making me blind, even if I wear sunglasses right now. I was just lying to myself. How could I resist their cuteness? I jumped at them and hugged them tight. I really love these three cuties.

"We love you the most in the world, our little sister." Hearing them say that touched my heart. I could tell they were quite sincere, and I felt that they truly loved me. Having such devoted brothers by my side made me feel fortunate.

Since then, Mom has lifted the ban on playing with me. So, after their training, which was shortened because of the interference my mom made, my brothers and I were playing every day in my room and sometimes outside, wearing dresses and tea cups with our hands. I could feel the amused looks of my mom and dad when we were outside.

I giggled wickedly as I grinned at myself. I will surely tell their future wives about this.
