CH12- Guardian Angel

-Isaac Allen's View-

Being at this party made me grateful that I didn't have to suffer from the unfortunate and painful condition of epilepsy.

The constant flashing lights of different colors made me want to puke up everything I had ate from yesterday and the day before. I was standing by Thea in the middle of this rave when Oliver showed up.

"Oh, hold on Tatertot. Ollie is here." She kissed me on the cheek before skipping towards Oliver, her new car keys jingling in her hand. I turned around and filled my cup with punch. Who would've expected the irony of the fact that what I was drinking, is what I was about to do to someone.

While I was standing over the punch bowl, some underage drunk shit head bumped into me, getting the red liquid all over my chest. I turned around to see who did it, it was luckily just some random kid, because I had the urge to turn around and punch immediately.

I wound my hand back, but Oliver came out of nowhere and grabbed my arm. I kept trying to hit him, but Oliver dragged me back, away from the guy who didn't even know his life was almost challenged.

"That son of a bitch ruined my suit Oliver."

"I know. I know, but it's not only your party, it's Thea's party too. Don't do anything stupid today." Oliver cautioned, worried more about Thea's feelings rather than the kid I was gonna strike.

"Fine." Oliver pat my shoulder and walked over to his partner in crime, Diggle. I walked towards Thea who looked like she was talking to a few friends.

"Thea, some jackass spilled punch on-" I paused what I was gonna say when I saw her quickly turned around and put something behind her back. I tried to remember the events that transpired today in the show, since I remember there being an episode about today.

'Vertigo. She's hiding the Vertigo from me.' I didn't look at Thea, but nodded instead and just walked off. 'I'm going to win an Oscar someday.' I was genuinely disappointed, but I can't expect my presence to make everything about her perfect.

"Isaac! Isaac wait!" Thea ran away from her friends to catch up to me. I made my way upstairs to go to her room. I leave my clothes here from time to time in case something like this happens. She grabbed my hand to try and stop me.

"Wait Isaac, it's not what you think-"

"Then what is it Thea?" I asked calmly. I knew that yelling wouldn't work in a situation like this, or with a woman like this, so I stood my ground and kept my voice as clear and calm as I could.

She always found me being calm in a situation as weird and it definitely made her more truthful. And I found that when I'm disappointed in her, she tends to learn her lessons and stop doing what she's doing.

"I-I was. I-"

"Save it Thea. I just want to get my change of clothes."

"Okay." She said softly, still following me up the stairs like a lost puppy. On the way to her room, we saw her mother, Moira and Malcolm Merlyn, Tommy's father, talking. Once he left, Thea walked up to her mother and started accusing her of some things.

"At my party? Right in front of me?" Thea shook her head and walked back towards me.

"No, Thea, you don't understand-"

"Walter hasn't even been gone for two months and you're already cheating on him. Just like you did on dad."

"Thea, I never cheated on him."

"Like I'd believe anything that you say. I wish that it would've been you that was on that boat." Thea then grabbed my hand and led me downstairs.

"Thea I didn't get any clothe-"

"Fine Isaac! Go get your clothes and leave!" Thea yelled, storming off with tears forming in her eyes. I stood still for a moment, not knowing what to do, until I brainstormed and remembered more about this episode.

'She takes the Vertigo and drives. And she gets into a car crash.' I quickly chased after Thea, hoping she didn't already leave.

'This is real life now, so I'm not about to let her do that stupid shit on my watch.'

I saw her starting up the car and about to pull off, when I was within range, I teleported only a single foot closer and jumped and landed into the backseat.

'I use my powers sometimes. I'm not always normal.' I thought wearily.

Thea jumped and looked back. She rolled her eyes when she saw me.

"What? Are your clothes in the back of my car or something?" She asked as she started driving. She waited for my response in her high, but when she didn't see me responding, she looked at me.

"Isaac?" I was staring ahead at the windshield, not looking at her. I was absolutely gas lighting her and I had no shame about it. What she was doing is wrong, and there are a lot of worse ways to make her stop.

She stopped the car and looked at me. The drugs in her system made her emotions more standout and profound.

"Isaac? Are you mad at me?" She put her hand on top of mine as she asked the question, looking at me with actual puppy eyes.

"Not at all Thea. I'm disappointed in you." Those words and my delivery struck a chord in Thea's heart. She went to start the car up, but I grabbed her keys from her.

"Issac give me my keys."

"No."

"Isaac! Give me-"

"Thea." I said sternly. She looked down and sat up straight. In our three years of dating, I'd never directed that tone towards her, so when I did just now, instant sobriety must've kicked in for her.

"Thea, I am in no position to tell you about how to cope. But this." I used hand motions to express my concerns.

"The Vertigo, the attempt to drive under the influence, this isn't the way and you know it. You're impulsive, emotional, and all of the above." Thea almost had it up to here with my criticism, but I had more to say.

"But despite all of that, I still love you." Her eyes were wide as she turned to me. If she didn't have instant sobriety before, I could tell she did now. We never used that word before and I was saving it for this kind of occasion.

"What did you say?"

"I said I love you, Thea." An unknown silence overcame us as she tried to understand what was happening. I just took a leap in our relationship. We hadn't said that to one another yet.

"I love you too, Tate." We leaned in closer and finally had our moment of the day. This kiss was special, this was a mark in our journey. This was our first kiss that meant love.

She hugged me and we stayed like that for a while, but we had to go back inside before the party ends.

Once we did go inside, there was only one thing on my mind beside a change of clothing.

"Thea, give me the Vertigo." I demanded with a hard gaze to show I wasn't joking. She sighed a gave what was left in the little bag.

"I love you, but I still am disappointed in you." I leaned down and whispered in her ear.

"I know. But do I still get cuddles?" She asked hopefully.

"Yes, you still get cuddles. Only if you stop this." She scoffed and started to chew my head off.

"Isaac, an addiction isn't something you just turn on and off." I grabbed both of her hands and put them in mine, making her look at them and then up to me.

"I know Thea, but I'm willing to help you if you're willing to help yourself."

I changed into a white shirt and gray sweat pants for the night. I texted Joe that I wasn't coming home because it was really late. The party had lasted longer then I thought, so I didn't feel like taking the train at this time. That seems like a dangerous idea.

I was laying down in Thea's bed, waiting for her to come out the shower. She came out the bathroom about 10 minutes later in the exact same outfit as me. That is because she was wearing the other set of clothes I left here.

"Something about that looks familiar." I said playfully.

"I wonder what it is." She replied just as playful as me. She turned the lights off and snaked into bed with me.

"You're like my guardian angel, always protecting me before I do dumb shit or die."

"I guess that's what I am then. Your guardian angel."

(A/N: A little bit of a corny episode but you know. I love me some chemistry building)
