"Let's go."
Elise clomped behind her manager and lowered her head, not bothering to think about the woman she had just seen the caretaker take to that exclusive elevator.
At this moment, Rosalie did not know she had just missed her first meeting with Elise in this life. After being led to the elevator, taken to the top floor, she expected to see a corridor that would lead her to the apartment.
But instead of walking through a corridor, once the elevator stopped and opened on the top floor, a door was already in front of her.
The caretaker didn't explain to her why that was the case. It was pretty obvious already what this meant as Rosalie had lived in a penthouse before.
Still, it didn't change the fact that it still brought her much surprise upon realizing that she ended up sharing a penthouse with another person!
After thanking the caretaker, Rosalie approached the door with a disbelieving expression. She fished out the key in her pocket and plunged it inside. Soon, a furtive click sounded, and the door opened.
Rosalie released a sigh and pushed it further before she entered.
Earlier, Rosalie wasn't able to correct the caretaker when the latter called the apartment a 'courtyard', but after seeing the scene in front of her, she was thankful she didn't do that.
From the outside, it appeared like an ordinary door of an apartment, but once you stepped into the door, a meticulously designed courtyard was revealed. Stepping through the main entrance, Rosalie spotted flagstones dampened by the morning drizzles. Following the path further in and passing through another door, a spacious living room painted in white and filled with expensive furniture came into view.
And to the further right corner, the floating stair leads to the second floor. When Rosalie first saw the pictures on the post on the housing app, she thought it was fake. Because acting as a wall was a waterfall. Yet, even though there's water falling from upstairs, there was no sound of water at all.
To sum it up, the entire place was rather picturesque compared to the pictures on the app.
Rosalie was in awe. She toured the entire first floor for a few minutes before heading to the second floor.
She knew what she'll see would be something she'll never describe as "normal," and thus, she headed to an empty and unlocked bedroom.
This room was already complete; a bed situated on the center, a study desk beside the window with fruits and snacks, a built-in closet, and a computer.
Rosalie was extremely satisfied with everything and quickly took pictures of the room. Feeling even bolder, she entered the bathroom and saw there was even a jacuzzi!
Immediately after seeing it, she took a picture of it and sent a message to her housemate.
After her message was sent, she waited for a response.
She was feeling a bit anxious this time.
Having not received a reply since last night, Rosalie had pictured her roommate as a shy and delicate person, not knowing that this 'shy and delicate' person will soon turn into a big, bad wolf, who will eat her whole in the future.
But that's something that will unfold itself in the near future.
Just as Rosalie was about to take her bra off, her phone that was on the sink finally chimed.
She looked at it for a second and finally took it in her hands, and surprisingly, her housemate had replied.
Rosalie opened the chat app and read it out loud: [How did you get in?]
Thinking that the housemate didn't know that the agent had another pair of the key, she replied, [I used the other key.]
On Kallix's side, he stared at the reply of this mysterious housemate he didn't know about, then frowned.
His question was voiced out by the other man, "Damn, the geezers sure have their own method! They even acquired a new key to your house!"
Kallix looked at him briefly in silence.
Under his cold gaze, the other man sheepishly scratched his head, "Why are you staring at me? Did I guess it right?"
Kallix no longer paid attention to him and said, "There's no other key. The key has a red gem embedded in it. It's the only one in the world."
As soon as he bought the apartment and had it completely renovated to his preference, Kallix has someone redo the lock on his door and coincidentally, he also bought an extremely unique red gem from an auction and casually gave it to the locksmith to make a new lock and key for his door.
After hearing this, the other man finally showed a hint of shock: "Then, how did she get it?"
Kallix didn't answer him. He remembered his younger sister, who lived in the capital city, arrived in Neverville a few days ago. She asked to stay in his house and because Kallix had to go to another city, he gave her his key.
Pulling up another chat message with 'Stupid' as the other person's name, Kallix sent a message. [KPA: Where's my key?]
He waited patiently, his eyes turning a degree lowet as seconds ticked by. After a minute, a reply was soon sent to him.
[Stupid: ...I don't have it.]
[KPA: Then, where is it?]
This time, the reply came a few minutes later, as if the sender was agonizing what to write back.
[Stupid: Brother, the truth is... your pretty little sister needed money because dad and mom froze my account. So, I put up your apartment for rent.]
[Stupid: Don't worry, I posted it yesterday, so I douby someone saw it.]
[Stupid: I also specifically wrote on the post that it's a sharehouse and priced it with a monthly rental payment of a million dollar!]
His younger sister's tone on her messages was a bit proud and confident. If it were another day, Kallix might trust her. But seeing how someone had already entered his sanctuary and now, using his bathroom, he couldn't trust whatever words came out of his younger sister's mouth anymore.
[KPA: You're really stupid.]
Kallix ignored the tens of replies his younger sister sent to him in anger and entered the chatroom with his housemate.
[KPA: There seems to be a misunderstanding. Wait for me there and talk.]
Since this was a mistake his younger sister made, as her elder brother, it was only his duty that he corrects her wrongdoing.
