Relocation

Feeling a headache coming on, I had mapped out a basic plan of action for now.

First and foremost, relocate to a place where nobody would find me or the kids easily, where I can simply disappear to and it would take some while for people to find us.

This isn't just for my own safety right now, but also for the kids safety. Especially considering I didn't know if SHIELD had any sort of bad intentions towards mutants or not, which could start a pretty nasty conflict.

Thats the one thing I had to avoid at all costs, otherwise I'm really going to end up being yet another big bad villain with the way I've set myself up so far.

Next, I had to check if nothing happens in the Central Park today, having realised that I had a major oversight just recently...

Let's say, this is the marvel universe, right?

Now, if... Just what if... This is one of the completely different parallel universe that nobody has any clue about what actually goes on, besides being mentioned at one point, out of nowhere usually.

What if... If I had really shitty luck, the punishers family has already died. Or in the somewhat better scenario, what if they die to a completely unrelated reason compared to the drug meeting.

So, I absolutely need to go to Central Park to verify which universe I am in, to see if anything I know applies at all. Hell, if I get unlucky, Thanos could have the gauntlet already and has become something like the supreme ruler of the universe... Or something.

Anyways...

Leaving all of that aside, it was currently slightly past noon.

Seeing that I still had time until the meeting, the first order of buisness was to find a safe spot.

Going to the shelf and picking up the map Eliza marked different places on, i started looking for what would be a decent hiding spot.

An odd five minutes later, I found no good places in the entirety of New York for the kids and me to use as a hideout.

"Honestly, I would need to relocate outside the city at one point." I mused to myself, "This place seems like its set up to constantly get into deep shit, and if the kids stay here there's no guarantee they're going to be safe with my constant absence. Hmmm..."

Still looking around the map, I finally spotted a somewhat nearby underground bunker, merely a few hundred meters away from here, that Eliza had marked for me. Not only did it seem pretty safe for now, it was located inside of an abandoned warehouse, so it had absolutely no chance of ever being discovered.

That solves that then, as for the later relocation, I'll figure that out after today. Turning to look at the two siblings playing gam... Wait that looks like some data sheet or something? Meh, I'll ask later.

"Yo. Bruce, Eliza. We're moving places. " I said nonchalantly.

"Got it bo-HUH???" the confusion set in slightly late, as Eliza suddenly turned around.

"Did... Did something happen?" she asked cautiously, trying to maintain a calm expression, yet the nervousness was apparent in her voice.

"I uhh... I think this place may have some uninvited guests soon. So I'd rather move to a nearby bunker, where we can hide for a good while, until I finish everything that I have to do. After that we're leaving New York as its going to get more and more dangerous soon enough."

"Then... What do we pack?" Bruce asked, curious.

"Leave the packing to me, I'll need to be quick as I still need to get to the Central Park. And after that I need to check out the location, and then I'll escort you until you're inside the place if its safe."

No sooner had I finished my words, did I go to the bedroom, pulling out an old duffel bag that I had since ages ago.

Throwing inside the two laptops, the three guns and the knife, and the metric ton of cash, it was pretty full.

Leaving that, it was already 12:30, with three hours until the meeting.

Running to the nearby warehouse all the way from my apartment, I didn't even feel any strain on my left leg by now... There's no way it has healed completely by now, although the wound doesn't feel too bad.

Arriving at the abandoned warehouse, first thing I did was scan around for CCTV or similar on the nearby buildings. Noticing nothing like that, I proceeded with the next step of my plan. Looking at the warehouse doors, I headed to the side of the building, finding a staff entrance.

Applying a little bit of pressure, the door opened, not putting up too much resistance even with it being locked. Heading to the area where the entrance to the bunker was supposed to be, I walked to the opposite wall of the warehouse. As the lights of the sun kept growing dimmer and dimmer the further away from the door I walked, I arrived inside the office room.

"Let's see..." I said, as I got down and started inspecting office room. Moving around the table, and the carpet, I soon started throwing things outside the office one by one, before I finally found it.

Hidden behind a shelf, there was a small tunnel, slightly shorter than the average man, leading downwards into the ground.

Pulling out my Desert Eagle, I started descending downwards as I was ready to blast anything that came at me.

Step by step, deeper into the darkness I went, before I finally pulled out my phone and started using it as a improvised flashlight.

After what felt like a 20 meter or so descent, I finally found the actual bunker room, hidden somewhat deep underground.

The hermetic metal door had a valve on it, that after turning, showed me the contents of the bunker. The metal room I found myself inside of was decently tall, at nearly two and a half meters, and with it being an odd 10 by 5 meters area wise, it gave off a manageable feeling.

The thin layer of rubber on the ground was a good sound insulation, while the light gray paint gave off a slightly comfortable feeling.

On the left of the bunker were multiple bunk beds, and an old radio. On the right wes a kitchen, or what seemed to be one. Going further to the next door there was yet another room, with more radios and similar communication equipment set up, along with a gasoline generator that seemed to have stopped working.

Finally, on the left of it was a bathroom, so that meant the basic necessities were covered. Needless to say, the toilet and the shower perfectly.

Having scouted this place, I went back to get Eliza and Bruce, as well as the duffel bag.

Looking at their slightly gloomy expressions at the new place they had to stay at, I sincerely said , "I'm sorry, I promise I'll get you a better home soon enough."

"Huh? Oh no the place is fine, I'm just worried about you being chased boss." Eliza said, with a surprised expression.

"Oh..." not really knowing how to reply, that was all that I could say in response.

"Well, I'll be off to the central park, and if someone does come try to hide until I come back." saying that, under the gazes of the two kids I left the room... That was probably a cool exit, right?
