Chapter 11: So I Cried But Only. A Little!

(Yumi POV)

"Let me guess. A bet on weather he is dead or not?" I ask which makes the girl smile.

"Well you're quick on the uptake. Better then the other one. The stakes are time. You see we're going to settle our match through gambling and our chips will be time."

(Time Skip to After explaining the rules because seeker is way to lazy to write all of that)

"I agree" Yumi says not giving it a second thought not like anyone would've objected. They were still to scared of pushing her any farther.

"Okay then I chose our first bet so decide how many hours you want to wager kn wether he is alive or dead."

"I bet 50 hours that he is alive." Yumi says simply which of course gets a rise out of everyone Leorio is the first to speak up.

"Wait there, 50 hours is a lot of time. Are you really that confident." Leorio is only met with a look, not an overall dangerous one, just one that said 'trust me'.

'I am much more confident then you might think. Not only because of the anime. Like I'd bet all of you're happiness because of a fact that could change. Don't make me laugh. I can feel that guy is still alive. Rhats why I not going to drag this out and bet everything.'

"Let's confirm it then" the girl says sweating.

Now it wasn't only Leroute (the gambling prisoner) that was sweating but Majtani (the fraudster prisoner) As well.

'If I die my team automatically wins and we get 50 years off our sentence. This is important as we've barely been able to keep them for half an hour. But that means I die! You know what it doesn't matter. I can't die! I don't care if they get angry at me! It's not like one of them can kill me!'

Too bad Majtani thought that he'd get off easy. You see Yumi wasn't going to let people who dared trick her Kurapika and try to drive a wedge between him and Leorio would get off easy. She smiles evily.

"I can feel your concuois but I can't prove it because I don't know how to read a pulse mister." Yumi then gets out her knife and plunges it into his back were the fake spider tattoo was causing the man to cry out but Yumi holds him still.

"You dare try to mess with his emotions like that. You f*cking bug! You should learn your place!" Yumi yells twisting her knife deeper while avoiding any major arteries and organs.

She then take out her knife and stabs him again causing to cry our in pain a second time blood splattering everywhere. Then a third and more blood. Then a fourth and even more blood.

It's clear that it wasn't even about the wager anymore as all Yumis eye's could see was somebody who hurt Kurapika. Someone who hurt her person. And she couldn't just let him off the hook. Death wasn't enough. Phsyical torture shouldn't even be enough. But that's all she could do so of course she would enjoy it.

None of the four could tell what was going on until they saw a tear fall on the ground. Kurapika looked away grimacing, Leorio stretched out her hand to help her but couldn't take a step as he remembered how his words hurt her previously, Killua barley understood what she was doing and didn't even know how to react. But Gon, he was just angry, not at Yumi of course but at all the people who could've driven her this far. Made her so hurt.

And when he say a tear (that was actually from the happniess she felt of this whole situation) fall on the ground that was the last straw.

Fast as lightning Gon appeared on the platform and put his hand on Yumi's shoulder. Yumi turns preparing to death glare anyone who wanted to intrupt her judgment before she sees its Gon and relised what she just did infront of the four. She finally looked up at the others and saw there disgruntled faces and was speechless. Shr looked up at Gon who gave her a worried smile.

"Yumi you can stop" he says. This hits Yumi to the core as she can't even start to think what they all see her as.

She lowers her head shaking it. "I took it to far didn't eye" but she's surprised herself at how raw her voice sounded.

"Don't worry like I said I was here for you before you got swallowed up wasn't I? So don't worry about it" Gon says giving a full smile.

I dosnt know what to say.

'The light from his smile' 

(Flashback to Yumis past life)

A lady of about 20 is curled up in a dark room on a very expensive looking couch with snacks on a glass table infront of her a huge flat screen TV hanging from the ceiling. As she watches she obviously gets more and more entranced by what she's watching. She listened as each lyric from the intro played as if only for her.

🎵As you travel far across the globe, starting to awaken as you go, lead us with the light that always glowed, from your shinning smile! You can smile!🎵

(Back to the present)

Yumi smiled but it's an empty one not the full one (that wasn't even creepy) she smiled when first listing to the theme song. She shakes her head internally.

'This smile shouldn't be wasted on me. My darkness is under control as long as you four are alive and mine. Killua deserves this light more then me. Especially with what's coming up'

"Thank you Gon. I think I'll be fine" she says dusting herself off. As she does that a path opens up from the stage to the unknown catching everyone attention.

"Well?" Yumi says seeing how nobodys moving. "Come on guys let's move on to the next phase!"

We go throguh a bunch of trials and after running from a huge ball we get to the last choice. I look at my clock.

"We have, 62 hours so we don't have to worry about time so the long a difficult path should be fine right?" Leorio asks. Everybody nods.

"Wait" I speak up.

'Can't i still use the strategy from the anime in this situation? There's no reason not to as even if we have a bunch of time it dosnt mean we have to waste it all'

"What if we used the weapons in this room to break from the long a difficult path unto the short and easy path?" 

Gon looks at me with bright eyes. "That's a great idea Yumi!"

"I vote that we do that!" Leorio shouts which makes Kurapika laugh. "I don't think we need to vote anymore but I also agree with Yumis idea"

"Yeah it's a good plan" Killua says.

"Okay everyone get a weapon from the wall cause there is no way in hell I'm using my baby" Yumi says referring to her scythe which makes everybody laugh.

(Tine Skip to when they make it to the base of the tower)

We were approaching the last door with good time after we got down from the slide. I was breathing a sigh of relief that at least I did what I set out to do and made there lives easier. Unconsciously I walked behind all of them as I preferred to observe them then consciously interact with them.

I don't know why I did this but maybe a small part of me still dosn't want the main four to be any different now that I was there. 

Suddenly Gon and Killua who had been whispering to each other slowed down and started whispering to Leorio and Kurapika pointing at me a few times. 

This was werid of course but it never really registered into my mind until we stopped infront of the door and they all turned back to me.

"Yumi!" Gon shouts as he steps forward squeezing past Leorio and Kurapika as he looks as me with a smile.

"Yes?" I say confused as well as suspicious why they ate all turned to me.

"Well we've all decided that because you were one of the biggest reasons that we were able to make it here so quickly that it's only fair that you get to walk through the door first."

"Yeah don't even think of declining!" Leorio shouts. "With out you I'm not sure if I could've fought the prisioner and won my match"

"Not to talk about how you were the one that kept us all on track making shut that there was no conflict between the five of us making this a very peaceful journey" Kurapika adds.

Now I was on the verge of tears (and I've not cried in years in both lives) but then sonthing I've never expected to come out of anyone's mouth came out of Killua's!

"None of us know what you've been through but whatever you're dealing with remeber you don't have to go through it alone. We are all here for you"

Okay I cried I'll admit it. But then a stupid question came into my mind and thinking back I sounded way too much like a sob sob character (which I ussual hate!) but I had to make sure.

"Does that mean that we're freinds?" Yumi asks which stuns Killua as it is obvious that he had had similar worries. But it seemed to be infounded as everyone else gave me a are you serious look.

"Of course were freinds!" Gon says hugging me which obviously only made me want to cry even more but I stopped myself and instead gave them all a huge smile. This time it wasn't fake and neither was it creepy but it was the full smile that contained only joy. A smile that made Killua blush a bit.

"Thank you, you guys! Let's finish this!" Yumi says walking ahead of them hiding her obsessive expression.

'They are my friends. My friends and nobody else's freinds. They are my freinds which means I must protect them from everything. My goal for the rest of my life in this world is to make life as easy as possible for them. They are my friends so I will no MUST gladly take on all of there pain. Beacsue they are MY FREINDS SO NO ONE SHOULD EVEN DARE MESS WITH THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seekeroflight: Okay everyone I'm not sure did you like this chapter? Yumi is now full OLD mode right now so yeah good luck to anyone who tries to pass off the main cast ad you have signed your own sucied note. Oh and I've noticed recently that my XKillua story has been looking more like a XGon story so I was like 'I have to fix that, quick!'. So if any of you were worried don't be as it's still and XKillua fanfic. Don't expect any romantic feelings from Leorio as he thinks of Yumi almost like his deranged adopted younger sister. Don't expect anything from Kurapika either as he thinks of Yumi as a freind and nothing more. But hey if you guys really want a but of a love triangle with Gon and Killua tell me in the comments and I might just make it happen. Seeker Out!
