Panic

Scott finally left the office and fell into his car at three. He had managed to save the merger but only just. He had warned his staff that if anything like this ever happened again, he would fire every last one of them. Scott wasn't in a joking mood about stupid mistakes in the execution of a fifty-million-dollar deal. He wouldn't tolerate any more incompetence.

It was another thirty minutes before he got home and all he could think about was climbing into bed with his wife and curling around her. He was hoping that Nicholas was not on his side of the bed. He told him the last time he stayed but who knew if the man would listen.
