Busy Work

The next morning found a much calmer Nicholas having room service breakfast and several cups of coffee. He was waiting for Mrs. Burns to stop by and sign her contract. He had put substantially more than three million into the retirement fund for her and once Ana was through her crisis he would release the funds to her.

If at that point Mrs. Burns chose to leave his employment, he would thank her for her long service to the Stanton family and wish her well. Nick would remind her to visit as often as she was able. She would undoubtedly wish to see the children in the future if he were ever lucky enough to have any.

Nicholas did not want to start considering all the things he may never have so he opened his laptop to knock out a few work emails. He was still on vacation, and he planned to extend the vacation when this final week was up, but he was still consulting. Upon opening his email program, he saw an email from Coulter and Mr. Rogers.
