Stray Kittens

During their early dinner Ana detailed her plan to go and find these street kids. She called them Stray Kittens. It was a term that was used by the adults that lived on the streets. It was meant as an affectionate term.

"Someone might say, have the kittens been fed today? Or we found a new stray kitten today, show him where the other kittens sleep." Ana told the group.

"It's to protect the kids. There is a lot of intricate slang on the streets. If we were to ask for street kids on Desolation Row, we would be run out." An explained as she prepared them to go there.

They were headed to Desolation Row after leaving the restaurant. It was an area deep in the heart of New Haven where the majority of the homeless lived. In a city of forty million there were several distinct homeless communities. However, Ana wanted to start where she had lived as a child.

"Why do they call it Desolation Row?" Lucas asked Ana.
