"Heard the news. Is the dowager really coming?" Elder Aric asked, his eyes narrowed as he leaned closer to whisper. Katherine stiffened beside Kieran. She shouldn't even be present in this conversation, but they had managed to catch the Elder's attention as he walked over to them with a smile on his face.

"Is she coming with Alpha Dean?" He asked again. Katherine mentally tuned out of their conversation, her gaze flickering to where Astrid was with Sam. They seemed to be having a much better time than she was. Katherine sighed internally, feeling Kieran's hands lightly brushing over her back. She resisted the urge to smile and looked away, her gaze straying towards the entrance where a couple had just walked in.

"Oh, Elder Declan is here. Please excuse me, Elder Aric, while I welcome him," Kieran said.
