The Survivors

Some time passed, and Stel and Elsie's life continued as usual. The couple in the neighboring apartment had turned into zombies. After they left, the apartment door remained open, allowing some wandering zombies to enter their place. Because zombies occasionally entered the neighboring apartment, Stel and Elsie had to move very quietly.

"Master, we have less than a month's worth of food left," Elsie reported to Stel after checking their supplies.

Stel nodded. This was within his expectations. He knew that the supermarket nearby had enough supplies, but breaking through the horde of zombies to get there would be difficult. So Stel was waiting for an opportunity.

One day, Stel suddenly thought that he hadn't thoroughly searched the apartment since they arrived. There might still be something useful hidden away. Stel first went to Tyler's private room and opened all the cabinets. Inside, he found some bank cards and business contracts. But these things were useless to him now.

"Tyler sure was rich. Every contract is worth millions, but no amount of money can fix a physiological defect," Stel remarked with a laugh.

He then opened other drawers and found something more interesting. Inside, there were handcuffs, chains, and whips. Stel couldn't help but grin.

"Tyler, you really knew how to play."

Stel guessed these tools were meant for Elsie. "Since you can't use them now, I'll gladly put them to use on your woman."

Stel took out all the useful items and planned to use them that night. He searched other places but didn't find anything else of value.

But Stel suddenly found a photo in one of the drawers. The moment he saw the photo, he was stunned. Someone in the photo caught Stel's attention. It was a family photo from Tyler's household. In the middle-right position stood a woman. Stel had never seen such a strikingly beautiful woman before. She had a curvaceous figure and her skin looked flawless.

"Master, did you find anything useful?" Elsie asked softly as she walked in from outside the door.

Stel was curious about this woman's relationship with Tyler. Considering that Elsie had lived with Tyler for a month, she might have seen this woman. He showed the photo to Elsie and asked, "Do you know who this woman is?"

"Who?"

"Her," Stel pointed to the woman who had caught his attention.

"Oh, you mean Diana. Her name is Li Diana, and she's Tyler's cousin. I met her about a month and a half ago when Tyler and I went out for dinner."

"So she's Tyler's cousin..." Stel nodded. He hadn't expected that someone like Tyler would have such a beautiful woman in his family.

"Why, Master, are you interested in Diana?" Elsie asked, a hint of concern in her voice. "She used to help manage the family business and lived nearby. I wonder how she's doing now."

"Tyler was such a lecherous person. As his cousin, this woman must have had many men, right?"

"No, Master, that's not the case. Diana has always been very virtuous and has never been involved with men. She's been busy managing the family business and never had time for relationships," Elsie replied, leaving Stel a bit surprised.

He didn't expect that the family that raised Tyler could produce someone like Diana. It seemed he had underestimated the entire family.

"Diana was very kind to us and took good care of me..." Elsie said with a sweet smile.

None of Tyler's family had looked favorably upon Elsie. After all, Tyler was known for his promiscuity, always moving on to new women once he had conquered the previous ones. So, when Tyler brought Elsie to family dinners, his relatives barely acknowledged her, except for Diana. Diana treated Elsie well and cared for her feelings. They had built a close friendship in private.

"Master, do you have feelings for Diana?" Elsie asked.

Stel nodded, admitting he was indeed interested in Diana. "Such a person would make the perfect dog, very obedient."

Elsie shivered at his words. She had thought Stel was infatuated with Diana, but it turned out he was planning to make her another pet. Now, Elsie felt her position was threatened. She was Stel's first slave, and if another woman surpassed her, it would make her a joke. Moreover, if another woman replaced her, surviving without Stel would be uncertain.

Elsie silently vowed not to let Stel and Diana meet. She hoped Diana had already fallen victim to the zombies. Moreover, she decided that any woman who caught Stel's interest in the future must be kept away. She resolved to remain Stel's most useful slave.

That evening, the items Stel had found in Tyler's room were finally put to use. Elsie screamed in agony from the torment, while Stel took great pleasure in it.

"Elsie, I just realized today that you have quite the potential for masochism," Stel laughed maniacally as he tormented Elsie.

"Whatever Master says... is true," Elsie managed to say, her voice weak from the pain but still trying to please Stel.

Just as they were engrossed in their sadistic game, a beam of light suddenly shone through the window, illuminating Elsie's belly.

"...!"

At first, Stel thought it was just a streetlight flickering, but he quickly dismissed that idea. The light not only stayed on Elsie's belly but also kept moving in circles. This instantly killed Stel's mood, diverting his attention to the source of the light.

"Elsie, is anyone living in the apartment across the street?" Stel suddenly asked.

"These two apartment buildings were developed by the same company and sold simultaneously. So yes, there are people living in the opposite building."

With this information, Stel immediately deduced that the light was coming from the opposite apartment building, meaning someone over there had noticed them. They were signaling with something like a flashlight, shining it through the window.

It was a signal!
