Chapter 45

The next day, when I woke up, breakfast was already prepared. Alzid had cooked for me, and it made me feel special. I truly couldn't ask for more from him. I was very happy.

"Laine, eat up. Let's go to school together," Alzid said.

So after we had breakfast and took care of ourselves, Alzid and I went to the university together. As usual, my classmates were staring at us, giving me nasty looks as if they weren't pleased. I knew they looked down on me because of my reputation for changing boyfriends frequently.

They probably thought I didn't deserve Alzid. And deep inside, I felt guilty. There's nothing I can do to change how they see or think of me.

But then I felt Alzid's hand hold mine tightly.

"I'll keep reminding you, Laine, that you have nothing to worry about, and you shouldn't care what other people say about us. And I will never tire of doing this," Alzid said, calming me down and easing my feelings. So I forced a smile for him.
